Terminologie in der Glasherstellung : mit besonderem Fokus auf Fachphraseologismen

Abstract

In dieser Masterarbeit wird die Fachsprache innerhalb der Domäne der Glasherstellung behandelt, wobei ein besonderer Fokus auf die darin auftretende Fachphraseologie gelegt wird. Im Zuge dessen werden fachspezifische Einworttermini in Form von Kollokationen, Mehrworttermini und Komposita analysiert. Grundlage der Arbeit bildet ein Korpus domänenspezifischer Texte, das eine fundierte Erforschung der Terminologie in der Glasherstellung ermöglicht. Anhand dieses Korpus werden zentrale Termini identifiziert und analysiert, um deren Verwendung und Struktur innerhalb der Domäne genauer zu verstehen. Ein besonderes Augenmerk liegt auf der Synonymie und deren Einfluss auf die fachsprachliche Kommunikation. Eine kontrastive Analyse der Fachphraseologismen zwischen der englischen und deutschen Sprache gibt weitere Einblicke über mögliche Äquivalente, terminologische Lücken und Herausforderungen bei der Übersetzung technischer Fachsprache. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es demnach, die Terminologie und Fachphraseologismen der Glasherstellung zu beschreiben und zu kategorisieren. Damit soll ein Beitrag zur Linguistik der technischen Fachsprache in der Glasherstellung geleistet werden, der neue Perspektiven für die Terminologiearbeit, Synonymie und Übersetzung in diesem bisher wenig erforschten Fachgebiet eröffnet.This master’s thesis discusses the technical language used in glass production, focusing on specialised phraseology. Consequently, single word terms in the form of collocations, multi word terms and compounds will be analysed. A corpus of domain specific texts enables thorough research of the terminology used in glass production. This corpus is used to identify and analyse key terms in order to understand their use and structure within the domain in more detail. Special attention is also paid to synonymy and its influence on technical language communication. A contrastive analysis of technical phraseology between English and German will provide further insights into possible equivalents, terminological gaps and challenges in the translation of technical terminology. Based on these experiments, this thesis aims to describe and categorise the specialised terminology and phraseology in the domain of glass production.
