Acerca de las formas de (re)enmarcación (reframing) de la traducción: el caso de “En la España roja” de Ksawery Pruszyński

Abstract

The article analyzes the forms of reframing the Spanish translation of the work En la España roja by Ksawery Pruszyński. It begins by examining the concept of frame, as proposed by Erving Goffman, and its influence on the interpretation and communication of experiences. The analysis focuses on paratexts, such as cover and editorial notes, to underscore their role in contextualizing the target text for Spanish readers. Additionally, it highlights the main narrative time change in the translation, from present to past, which affects the reader’s perception of the work as a testimony. The article discusses how these translators’ decisions impact the reception and interpretation of the work within the Spanish context, taking into account the popularity of narratives of the Spanish Civil War and the demand for texts related to historical memory. In conclusion, it argues that the process of translation framing significantly shapes the perception and interpretation of the work, advocating for an ethical approach to its reading.El artículo analiza las formas de reenmarcación (reframing) en la traducción al español de la obra En la España roja de Ksawery Pruszyński. Comienza explorando el concepto de marco, basándose en la teoría de Erving Goffman, y cómo este influye en la interpretación de la experiencia y su comunicación. El análisis se centra en los paratextos, como la portada y las notas editoriales, para destacar su papel en la contextualización de la obra para el lector del texto meta. A continuación, se destaca el cambio de tiempo narrativo principal en la traducción, que pasa del presente al pasado, influyendo en la percepción del lector sobre la obra como testimonio.
