Evolución de las políticas públicas para la formación docente continua en Chile

Abstract

This article examines public policies on continuous teacher training in Chile, highlighting progress and challenges since the 1990s. The State has implemented laws and reforms such as the Teachers\u27 Statute and the General Education Law to improve educational quality through continuous teacher training. Despite significant progress, challenges remain in the coverage and effectiveness of these programs. Law 20.903 and evaluative and economic incentive systems aim to promote professional development for teachers. The research emphasizes the need for more inclusive and accessible continuous training for all educators in ChileEl presente artículo examina las políticas públicas de formación docente continua en Chile, destacando avances y desafíos desde la década de 1990. El Estado ha implementado leyes y reformas como el Estatuto Docente, la Ley General de Educación para mejorar la calidad educativa a través de la capacitación docente. A pesar de los avances significativos, persisten desafíos en la cobertura y efectividad de estos programas. La Ley 20.903 y los sistemas evaluativos e incentivos económicos buscan promover el desarrollo profesional docente. La investigación subraya la necesidad de una formación continua más inclusiva y accesible para todos los educadores en Chile
