Review and analysis of warehousing process in Vertiv Croatia d.o.o.

Abstract

Ovaj završni rad prikazuje i detaljno opisuje sveukupni skladišni proces tvrtke Vertiv Croatia d.o.o., koja je dio globalne korporacije Vertiv. U prvom dijelu rada uvedeni su i objašnjeni pojmovi potrebni za opis skladišnih procesa. To uključuje pojam logistike, lanca opskrbe i skladišta kao i važnost njihove uloge za proizvodna poduzeća. U drugom je dijelu predstavljena tvrtka Vertiv Croatia d.o.o. te opisana njena organizacijska struktura. U glavnom dijelu rada predstavljen je cjelokupni skladišni sustav tvrtke, uključujući prostorni raspored skladišta, skladišne zone, korištenu skladišnu i transportnu opremu te aktualni informacijski sustav. Svi skladišni procesi koji se odvijaju na skladišnoj lokaciji, poput zaprimanja, komisioniranja i izdavanja robe, detaljno su opisani na primjerima. U posljednjem dijelu rada predstavljena su dva moguća prijedloga za unapređenje skladišta te povećanje efikasnosti i efektivnosti cjelokupnog skladišnog sustava koji mogu predstavljati priliku za buduću investiciju tvrtke.The main goal of this undergraduate thesis is to present a detailed analysis of the warehousing process in the company Vertiv Croatia d.o.o., which is part of the global corporation Vertiv. For the analysis of the warehousing process it is necessary to first introduce terms like logistics, supply chain management and warehouse, as well as their importance for production companies. The second part of the thesis represents a brief description of the company, along with its organizational structure. The main part of the thesis presents the whole warehousing system in detail, including the spatial layout, warehousing zones, transportational equipment and the current IT system. Moreover, it describes each of the processes conducted at the warehouse location, such as receiving, commisioning and staging of goods. The final part of the thesis presents two potential ideas for future upgrades of the systems, which could help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the entire warehousing system and represent an investment opportunity for the company
