Lingua, ragione, comunicazione verbale

Abstract

Nell'articolo è presentato un punto di vista pragmatico sulla comunicazione verbale, con attenzione all'interazione fra le strutture linguistiche e il loro uso nei testi. Nella costruzione e nell'interpretazione di una mossa testuale sono rilevanti sia la dimensione esplicita sia quella implicita della comunicazione. in quanto elementi di sistema, le strutture linguistiche sono semanticamente vaghe e polifunzionali. In quanto elementi di una mossa testuale, il loro contributo al senso del testo si fa più chiaro e determinato. Quando le unità di un inventario compaiono nei testi, si verifica una serie di processi che organizzano il contributo dei vari elementi linguistici in base al progetto testuale e agli scopi comunicativi del parlante. È possibile interpretare un testo solo se siano considerati tutti i fattori rilevanti in un dato concreto atto di comunicazione e dopo che sia stato compreso il loro contributo al senso globale del testo dato. Gli elementi linguistici presi isolatamente, cioè separati dal resto della concreta mossa testuale data, sono insufficienti per una comprensione autentica del prodotto della comunicazione verbale. Questo deve essere tenuto presente anche nella trattazione dei testi giuridici.A pragmatic-oriented account of speech communication is proposed in which the interplay between language structures and their use in texts is taken into account. Both the explicit and the implicit dimension of communication play a major role in the construction and interpretation of a textual move. As system elements, language structures are semantically underdetermined and multifunctional. As elements of a textual move their contribution to text meaning becomes clearer and determined. When the elements of the language inventory occur in texts a series of processes takes place that organize the contribution of the various language elements according to the text design and the communicative purposes of the speaker. A text interpretation is possible only after all the relevant factors in a given concrete communicative act are considered and their contribution to the global meaning of the given text is understood. Language elements taken in isolation, i.e. separated from the rest of a given concrete textual move are insufficient for a genuine understanding of the product of speech communication. This should be taken into account when dealing with legal texts too
