"Raum der Engel" oder "Dämonen der Peripherie"?: Literatur, Geographie und das (Wieder-)einschreiben der Ukraine in Europa

Abstract

Der vorliegende Beitrag gibt einen Einblick in die Zusammenhänge zwischen der ukrainischen Nationswerdung, räumlichen Aspekten zeitgenössischer junger ukrainischer Literatur und der literarischen Bezugnahme auf Europa. Nach einem Überblick über geschichtlich-literarische Kontexte in Bezug auf eine Hinwendung zu Europa und Abwendung von Russland wird am Beispiel von drei Autoren (Juri Andruchowytsch, Taras Prohas'ko und Serhij Zhadan) dargestellt, wie unterschiedliche Aspekte von Räumlichkeit (Geopoetik, idiosynkratische Landschaften, Alternativen zu Europa) in der aktuellen Literatur des Landes zu Tage treten und verarbeitet werden. (Autorenreferat)This paper gives insights into the relations between Ukraine becoming a nation and spatial aspects of contemporary young Ukrainian literature against the background of certain literary understandings of Europe. After supplying insights into some literary and historic aspects of Ukraine turning towards Europe and away from Russia I will shed a light on how younger Ukrainian writers of essays, prose and poetry handle certain aspects of spatiality. I will focus on three writers (Yuri Andrukhovych, Taras Prohasko and Serhy Zhadan) and their ways of employing geography, topography or e.g. landscapes: so called geopoetics, idiosyncratic landscapes and alternative figurations of Europe.
