KAJIAN DAN ANALISIS CEMARAN LOGAM BERAT TIMBAL (Pb) DAN BORAKS (Na2B4O7.10H2O) DALAM PANGAN JAJANAN ANAK SEKOLAH DI KOTA CIMAHI

Abstract

Snack foods are foods and beverages prepared and sold by street hawkers in the streets and in public crowded places other be eaten or consumed without further processing and preparation. Snack foods generally have a shape, a different taste that can attract attention and influence children. Snack foods contaminated with heavy metals lead (Pb) and borax can cause health problems even death. The objective of this research were to analyzed and inform the content of heavy metals lead (Pb) and borax in the snack food of school children in the city of Cimahi. The benefits of this research that the public can know the heavy metal pollution of lead (Pb) and borax in the snack food of school children in the city of Cimahi. The research method includes several stages such as surveys and data analysis, determining the location and number of samples, sample collection and preparation, testing qualitatively for the content of boron with curcumin and using a flame test, while testing for heavy metal content analysis of lead (Pb) using spectrophotometric method atomic absorption. The results of research were obtained for the analysis of boron content of the meatball as much as 2% of samples contain borax which is located in the South Cimahi, and 91% of samples contaminated with heavy metals bakwan lead (Pb) concentrations ranging from 0.0290 to 9.1630 ppm are mostly located in South Cimahi region.
