Investigation of Silver Doped Hydroxyapatite

Abstract

Biomaterials based on calcium phosphate ceramics are used as implants in human/animal body due to their excellent biocompatibility. Silver containing materials have a very broad spectrum of antibacterial activity; therefore silver doped hydroxyapatite can be used in medicine as antibacterial implant material.
