A Comparative Study of Cool Roof and Green Roof Performance in Tropical Area of Indonesia
This study examines the performance of cool roofs and green roofs in a tropical climate in Indonesia. It compares a modified pitched roof designed as a cool roof with a flat roof equipped with vegetation functioning as a green roof on single storey building. A simulation method using EnergyPlus is employed to model the building and evaluate roof performance. The evaluation focuses on their efficacy in mitigating heat flux, enhancing thermal comfort, and reducing energy consumption. The results indicate thatgreen roofs can decrease heat flux by up to 91%, lower temperature by up to 13.14°C, and reduce energy consumption by approximately 60%. Meanwhile, cool roofs can achieve up to a 95% reduction in heat flux, a temperature decrease of up to 11.58°C, and an energy savings of up to 55%. Specifically, green roofs demonstrate superior performance in reducing heat gain within the room during daytime. Conversely, cool roofs are more effective in providing thermal comfort during nighttime. For buildings predominantly occupied during the day, the application of green roofs is likely to result in greater energy savings compared to cool roofs
INCENTIVE MECHANISM FOR QUALITY INSPECTION: A LINEAR PROGRAMMING APPROACH
This study develops an incentive mechanism model for outsourced personnel in product quality inspection, based on a principal-agent relationship. The core challenge lies in misaligned incentives, where agents often prioritize output volume over quality. Byintegrating Mechanism Design Theory (MDT) and Linear Programming (LP), our model aligns the principals objective of minimizing defective products with the agents utility maximization, subject to Incentive Compatibility and Individual Rationality constraints. Our analysis reveals that the optimal incentive structure combines a basic wage with a performance-based bonus. The optimal effort level of outsourced personnel increases with both rising losses due to defective products and enhanced detection efforteffectiveness. The model also shows that optimal inspection allocation should be assigned to personnel with higher capabilities, especially for high-risk products. This research provides a theoretical contribution by integrating MDT and LP for incentive design and offers practical implications for improving product quality through a measurable incentive framework
Maximizing Land Potential: A Highest and Best Use Analysis for Serviced Apartments in Bali
Bali, renowned as a global tourist destination, faces increasing demand for modern and flexible accommodations catering to both tourists and digital nomads. This study explores the development potential of a 1,000 m² plot in Sanur, Bali, into a serviced apartment using the Highest and Best Use (HBU) method. Legal, physical, financial, and market feasibility analyses proposed a layout with 45.1% apartment units, 54.9% supporting facilities, and 33.6% green spaces. A 12-year cash flow projection demonstrates financial viability, with an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 18.71%, a Net Present Value (NPV) of IDR 21 billion, and a discounted payback period of 11.39 years. This study shows that serviced apartments offer sustainable land use, aligning with market demand while delivering optimal economic returns. This development also supports Bali’s growth as a modern residential hub and reinforces its reputation as a dynamic global tourist destination
Slow Fashion Orientation and Consumer Attitude on Purchase Intention and Willingness to Pay a Premium Price
The rapid growth of the global fashion industry has made it the worlds third highest contributor to waste and pollution. In recent years, the slow-fashion movement has been oriented towards sustainability issues to reduce the negative impact of fast fashion. This study aims to analyze the effect of Slow-Fashion Orientation (SFO) on Attitude, Purchase Intention, and Willingness to Pay Premium. Primary data collection was conducted through a survey of 251 respondents spread across various regions of Indonesia through purposive sampling using the Populix research panel service. The results showed that slow-fashion orientation (SFO) has a direct and significant effect on Attitude, Purchase Intention, and respondents willingness to pay more for slow-fash- ion products (Willingness To Pay Premium). Attitude, directly and as a mediator, is proven to significantly influence Purchase Intention, and respondents willingness to pay more for slow-fashion products (willingness to pay premium)

Patterns of Contextual Adaptation: Interiority as a Design Framework for Cafe Spaces
This paper investigates interiority as an extension framework within adaptive
multiplied pattern-based architectural design methodologies. While traditional
pattern-based typological approaches are often regarded as repetitive
applications of similar designs, a deeper understanding of interiority enables
the reconceptualization of interior elements as adaptive pattern systems that
respond to specific contextual needs, particularly in fast-moving commercial
spaces. To explore this, the study employs a qualitative approach, analyzing
six representative coffee shop designs in Indonesia, with a focus on Ejji Coffee
shops. These case studies were selected due to their rapid proliferation and
diverse spatial adaptations, offering valuable insights into the role of interiority in
commercial architecture. The research methodology integrates parallel exploded
drawing, visual cataloguing, and spatial element identification to delineate the
interrelation between patterns, interiority, and thematic composition. Through
four key elements with two-dimensional planes (thematic), three-dimensional
furniture (objects), interior-exterior terrace composition (extension), and materiality
(modules) with the study examines how interiority contributes to adaptive reuse
and spatial efficiency. The findings reveal that thematic pattern-based interiority
enhances flexibility, efficiency, sustainability, and aesthetic coherence, positioning
interiority not merely as a spatial consideration for rapid commercial space design
but as an integral design mechanism within the evolving landscape of commercial
and retail architectural design
