Moerlein's Old Jug Lager Krug Bier : Preservation Lab Treatment Report
This is a ceramic bottle from the Christian Moerlein Brewing Company that was brought to the Preservation Lab to receive housing. The bottle is decorated with white, brown and blue glaze, possibly dating to the turn of the 20th century. It was received by the Preservation Lab wrapped in a sheet of thin foam within a brown corrugated box in need of improved storage. The base of the bottle contains sliver paint and a clear adhesive, possibly an epoxy, from being adhered to the inside of a box by a prior owner. The ceramic bottle was in good condition; however, the paint on the bottom is not original to the item and it was requested to be removed. This paint was tested to evaluate the possibility of its removal, but the testing with solvents proved to be unsuccessful and it was not removed at this time.View Catalog Record</a
