Mechanical and Physical Properties of Nano-Metals

    No full text
abstractEN: In the present work, an extensive research program has been undertaken to characterise a wide spectrum of properties of nano-metals. In particular, the effect of grain refinement on such properties as fatigue, corrosion and wear resistance, conductivity and thermal stability has been studied for various nano-metals (aluminium, copper and iron alloys). The results have revealed that nano-grain refinement also improves physical properties of single phase metals. A disadvantageous effect of large (micron sized) particles, which do not undergo refinement during the processing, has been also recognized. © (2010) Trans Tech Publications.‬‬‬‬score: 0collation: 1110-111

Influence of nitrogen implantation on electrical properties of Al/SiO2/4H-SiC MOS structure

    No full text
abstractEN: An influence of nitrogen implantation dose on the properties of MOS structure is analyzed. The properties are investigated using C-V, I-V measurements, Raman spectroscopy, and XPS profiling. It has been shown that the trap density is derectly related to implantation damage and conditions.score: 5collation: 733-73

The Application of the Extended Jiles-Atherton Model for Simulating the Magnetic Characteristics of X30CR13 Steel

    No full text
abstractEN: The application of magnetic-property oriented methods for non-destructive testing is verypromising due to its low cost and robustness. This paper presents the methodology of simulating themagnetic properties of martensitic X30Cr13 steel applying the extended Jiles-Atherton model. Onthe basis of experimental measurements, the parameters of the Jiles-Atherton model weredetermined by an evolutionary strategy together with gradient optimisation. A very good agreementbetween experimental hysteresis loops and the model was confirmed by a high value ofdetermination coefficient. The presented results open new possibilities of developing methods fornon-destructive testing of energetic turbines made of X30Cr13 stainless steel. Moreover, quantitative simulation gives a possibility of a better understanding of magnetisation processes.score: 5collation: 725-73

Comparative Investigations of Some Properties Related to Durability of Cement Concretes Containing Different Fly Ashes

    No full text
abstractEN: The results of research of mechanical properties and selected other characteristics influencingdurability of cement concretes containing cement substitutes were presented. Cement concretesperformed with conventional fly ash, fluidised fly ash and their mixture were investigated. The obtainedresults were compared with findings registered for two types of concrete performed withoutcement replacements and with cement concrete containing silica fume. The results have shown thatcement concrete with predetermined 28-day compressive strength of about 50 MPa and good workabilitymay be obtained using different cement replacements. Generally, these cement concretes exhibitedalso favorable properties related to concrete durability, i.e. low permeability and sorptivity, and significant reduction of chloride migration coefficient. Favourable results were obtained for cementconcrete containing mix of conventional and fluidised fly ashes: good workability, compressivestrength after 28th day exceeding 50 MPa, low permeability of water, and low sorptivity, as well aslow coefficient of chloride migration. These features were similar as for cement concrete containingsilica fume.score: 15collation: 154-16
