記録短縮を目指す市民ランナーにおける鉄栄養状態と栄養素摂取量の関連
Marathon running enthusiasts are susceptible to anemia, necessitating careful consideration of their energy levels and nutrient intake. Despite the heightened risk of anemia among recreational marathoners, scant attention has been paid to the correlation between anemia and dietary habits within this demographic. The purpose of this study was to investigate the association between iron status and nutrient and food group intake among recreational marathon runners striving to improve their performance. Eighteen male recreational runners (40.7±12.4 years) actively pursuing record improvements participated in this research. Physical measurements, questionnaire surveys, non-invasive hemoglobin measurements, and food intake frequency surveys were conducted. Participants were categorized into two groups based on the stand value hemoglobin levels (13.0 g/dl). Those whose values were above the standard value were placed in the N-Hb group (14 participants), and those whose values were below the standard value were placed in the L-Hb group (4 participants). The results of the survey showed that the L-Hb group had a significantly lower intake of nutrients such as iodine, vitamin D, and vitamin B12. The survey also shows that the diet of the L-Hb group has statistically lower seaweed and seafood items than the N-Hb group. In conclusion, consuming seaweed and seafood, which contain nutrients such as iodine, vitamin D, and vitamin B12 may prevent low hemoglobin levels in recreational runners.departmental bulletin pape
フィルム型色素増感太陽電池の作製と評価 -SQ2/CDs・SQ2/SPNO2系-
In this study, we report an investigation of the fabrication and characterization of SQ2-based film-type DSSCs (SQ2 devices), SQ2/CDs (α-CD, β-CD, γ-CD:CDs) devices and SQ2/SPNO2 devices. The fabricated SQ2 devices were irradiated at 655 nm and the photoelectric conversion property (IPCE655) was observed. The IPCE655 for SQ2 devices was 2.4%, and this value was also observed for SQ2/CDs film-type devices. The IPCE655 of the SQ2/γ-CD device was 3.2% and 30% larger than that of the SQ2 device. This suggests that γ-CDsuppressed the aggregation of SQ2 and increased IPCE655. The fabricated film-type SQ2/SPNO2 devices was the IPCE655 were observed. The IPCE655 of the SQ2/SPNO2 device was less than half that of the SQ2 device, but the IPCE655 increased by 40% with UV irradiation and decreased by about 40% with visible light irradiation. The increase of IPCE655 by UV irradiation suggests that PMC is involved in the photoelectric conversion of SQ2.departmental bulletin pape
マイクロ波試料分解容器を用いた昆虫食中の微量カドミウムの迅速分析
In the present study, we attempted to determine trace amounts of cadmium (Cd) in insect food (cricket flour) by using a method combining microwave sample decomposition and graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GF-AAS). It was confirmed that there was no contamination by a blank test, and that there was no loss of Cd during decomposition by an addition recovery experiment. From the Cd concentration in the prepared sample solution and the sample weight, the Cd content in the sample was calculated to be 0.011 μg g-1, which was almost the same as the value (0.012 μg g-1) obtained by acid circulation decomposition. This shows that the use of a microwave decomposition vessel can significantly shorten the decomposition time without compromising analytical accuracy. In the future, it is necessary to apply this decomposition method to the analysis of other heavy metals and verify its versatility and usefulness.departmental bulletin pape
スポーツ健康科学部の学生における社会的ニコチン依存度と受動喫煙に対する理解度の実態調査
This study aimed to clarify the smoking status, social nicotine dependence, and understanding of passive smoke exposure among students in the Department of Sports and Health Sciences, Fukui University of Technology, and obtain basic useful data for implementing health education tailored to their actual situations. A questionnaire survey was administered to 135 male and female students enrolled in years 1-4 in the Department of Sports and Health Science, Fukui University of Technology. Questionnaires were used to determine the participants’ daily smoking status, social nicotine dependence, and understanding of the effects of passive smoke exposure. Social nicotine dependence was assessed using the Kano Test for Social Nicotine Dependence (KTSND), which indicated that 34.6% of students aged ≧ 20 years had a smoking habit. In addition, the social nicotine dependence score evaluated by the KTSND was higher than that of other university surveys. Furthermore, KTSND scores were significantly higher among students whose parents and friends, as well as older university students were smokers. These results suggest the need for health education practices that encourage smokers to reconsider their smoking behavior by providing lectures that explain the reality of nicotine dependence and characteristics of passive smoke exposure.departmental bulletin pape
令和5(2023)年度学生生活支援室活動報告
This article reported statistics and some activities in the student guidance office as 2023 annual report, and examined the effects of support for students after the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. From the statistics, it was found that both the number of counseling and the number of users of the free space increased in 2023 compared to 2022. Although the number of counseling has returned to pre-pandemic levels, the number of free spaces remains lower than before the infectious disease epidemic This can be attributed to the fact that the use of the free space has changed from a few friends to a single student, as the infectious disease outbreak has reduced opportunities for interaction among students. In addition, more than 80% of the consultations were for academic and career/employment issues. It needs to be examined whether these changes are the result of an infectious disease epidemic or changes in the quality of the student population in the future.departmental bulletin pape
Programming Knowledge of Japanese High School Graduates
This paper investigates Japanese high school graduates’ programming knowledge, specifically those who have enrolled in a university major requiring multiple university-level programming courses. Participants were surveyed about their programming knowledge, general interest in computers, access to computers, and computer usage. Questionnaire data was analyzed, revealing low student computer usage despite high interest in computers and programming. Furthermore, concerns arise regarding limited student access to computers outside of the school system. Results show that only 82 of the 173 students had programming experience, but many of these students struggled to identify programming languages they reported to be familiar with, raising doubts about their experience. These findings offer insights into the programming and computer knowledge of Japanese high school graduates and highlight challenges faced by university professors in preparing students for IT careers.departmental bulletin pape
When We Started Using the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) as a Way to Teach English
Sometimes overarching narratives can seem daunting and confusing. We may not understand how we are to make sense of and implement policies that seem too large or irrelevant to our classrooms. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) are such an overarching narrative, causing a shift in societies’ operations. This paper reports on how three English language teachers were able to implement a new lesson curriculum using the UNSDGs as the primary content for instruction and make some significant changes to their classrooms. They also show how change within a formal operational structure being moved by external forces of globalization is possible. Finally, this report can be read as a guide for how to investigate and explore one’s own educational context when there is a feeling that change might be necessary.departmental bulletin pape
Examining Support Systems for Students with Disabilities through a Case Study : from Interview with a Student with Physical Disability
This study examined the effects in establishing support systems for students with disabilities through a case study of support provided to a student with physical disability. First, the implementation process of supports from admission to graduation was examined for the student with physical disability who entered the university after the enforcement of the Disability Discrimination Act. The supports were provided the establishment of a university environment, including making the campus barrier-free. Also, supports during the academic period included mobility assistance and the training of support students. In terms of employment support, internships were introduced. To evaluate these supports, interviews were conducted with the student with physical disability. The results indicated that the student with physical disability positively evaluated the campus barrier-free environment, mobility assistance provided by support students, and the introduction of internships. These findings suggested that support system for students with disabilities contributes to his acceptance of disability and personal growth.departmental bulletin pape
A straightforward method for evaluating the foot posture of non-soccer players during instep kicking
It is known that non-soccer players demonstrate varying foot postures while performing an instep kick. Since different instruction methods are required depending on the foot posture, it is crucial to quantitatively evaluate the foot posture during the instep kick and categorize the pattern. This study investigated the possibility of evaluating the foot posture during an instep kick using a single video camera.
The study involved 34 non-soccer and 15 soccer players who were instructed to kick the ball toward a net by an instep kick. A high-speed camera was positioned behind the subjects at the same height as the ball to record the image of the foot at the moment of impact. Using the images, we acquired data on the ratio of the sole area and the inclination of the foot at the moment of impact and attempted to categorize the foot posture. The results revealed that the foot posture could be classified into various patterns using the ratio of the sole area and the inclination of the foot. This method enabled a straightforward evaluation of foot posture with merely a single video camera; thus, it is expected to be a convenient tool in the coaching field.departmental bulletin pape
