Kural Form in Thirteenth Century Tirukkural Editions

Abstract

The field and site of this discourse is to explain the position of the second couplet, the first chapter of Thirukkural Biography, published in the nineteenth century editions. The Tirukkural editions of the nineteenth century have been taken as the basis for this effort. Where applicable, later editions have also been compared. Now let us see how the nineteenth century Tirukkural editions have visualized the second couplet beginning with "Katrathana Laaya"
