Individual, Social and Cultural Factors Among Religion Conversion Process: Live Experience of Converts in Indonesia

The decision to convert is a personal choice for every non-Muslim individual, where this process often involves various stages that are often full of challenges. Someone who decides to convert means that they are ready to let go of their identity as a follower of their previous religion, and accept and adapt to the identity and teachings of the new religion. This article examines the life experiences of converts regarding the process of religious learning that they receive after marriage, reviewed from individual, social and cultural factors. The purpose of this study is that researchers are interested in highlighting the life of someone who has converted to a religious belief because of a marriage. This study uses qualitative research with the narrative inquiry method. Participants in this study were Mr. DRB and Mrs. IR. The results of the study found that participants who underwent the process of converting to a religious belief were influenced by several factors, namely 1) individual factors, due to the background of the participant's family who was not very religious, since birth the participant had never been directed or taught about a religion by his parents. 2) social factors, both participants converted because they met someone who was Muslim in an organization and in a field of work. 3) Cultural factors, that initially participants found it very difficult to adapt to the culture in their environment, because previously participants had never followed Islamic teachings and had only learned from books and other people's stories

Optimalisasi Penerapan Akad Salam dan Istisna dalam Perbankan Syariah: Tantangan, Strategi, dan Implikasi Operasional

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis kendala yang dihadapi dalam penerapan akad Salam dan Istisna di bank syariah, serta merumuskan strategi yang dapat meningkatkan efektivitas penerapannya. Pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus digunakan untuk mendapatkan pemahaman mendalam mengenai fenomena ini. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan delapan informan kunci yang terdiri dari manajer area, customer service, marketing lending, dosen atau praktisi syariah, appraisal bank syariah, asisten manajer syariah, dan nasabah bank syariah, serta melalui observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kendala utama dalam penerapan akad Salam dan Istisna mencakup masalah regulasi, kurangnya literasi masyarakat, dan tantangan operasional terkait infrastruktur dan pengembangan produk. Rekomendasi strategis yang dihasilkan mencakup peningkatan edukasi dan literasi masyarakat, pengembangan produk yang inovatif dan sesuai dengan prinsip syariah, serta peningkatan kolaborasi antara bank syariah dan regulator. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa optimalisasi penerapan akad Salam dan Istisna dapat memperkuat daya saing bank syariah di pasar dan memastikan kepatuhan terhadap prinsip-prinsip syariah

Disparitas Penafsiran Hakim tentang Makna Urgensi dalam Alasan Dispensasi Kawin

Dispensasi kawin merupakan salah satu permohonan yang belakangan ini menjadi trending perkara yang diajukan di pengadilan agama. Pernikahan usia dini menjadi marak seiring dengan merosotnya akhlak pergaulan anak zaman ini. Beragam alasan digunakan untuk pengajuan dispensasi kawin, ada yang memang dipertimbangkan hakim sebagai alasan yang urgen, namun ada juga yang tidak ada esensi urgensi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan disparitas hakim dalam menafsirkan makna urgen dalam berbagai penetapannya. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif analitis, yang peneliti mendeskripsikan pertimbangan hukum hakim dalam menafsirkan makan urgensi dalam penetapannya. Bahan hukum yang diteliti adalah penetapan Nomor 319/Pdt.P/2023/PA.Bjm, 281/Pdt.P/2024/PA.Plh, 104/Pdt.P/2024/PA.Bjb, 82/Pdt.P/2024/PA.Brb, 133/Pdt.P/2023/PA.Brb, 18/Pdt.P/2021/PA.Brb, 25/Pdt.P/2024/PA.Rtu,  13/Pdt.P/2024/PA.Rtu, 492/Pdt.P/2024/PA.Mtp, dan 348/Pdt.P/2024/PA.Mrb. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan: Pertama, terjadi perbedaan penafsiran antar hakim se wilayah Kalimantan Selatan tentang makna urgensi/mendesak sebagai alasan permohonan dispensasi kawin. Hal ini berakibat ketidakseragaman penetapan di beberapa wilayah meskipun memiliki latar belakang kasus yang sama

Ta’līm Al-Mufrādāt Al Qāim A’lā Al Masyrū’ Fī Dhoui Al Manhaj Al Istiqlālī Fī Al Madrasah Al Tsānawīyah Al Hukūmiyyah Batu

Arabic language learning in MTs has a strategic role in equipping students with communication skills, both verbally and in writing. One important aspect of mastering Arabic is vocabulary. However, vocabulary learning in madrasas often faces challenges, such as monotonous methods, minimal active student involvement, and a less contextual approach. This circumstance has an impact on low motivation and slow improvement in vocabulary mastery. This study aims to explore how project-based vocabulary learning is implemented using the independent curriculum approachach at MTsN Batu. We collected data through observation, interviews, and documentation studies, using a qualitative approach and a case study method.he results of the study indicate that the purpose of this learning is to improve students' understanding and skills through contextual, practical, and competency-based learning experiences. The steps include asking basic questions, project planning, determining project schedules, project assessments, and evaluating experiences. However, the evaluation stage of experiences has not been optimal due to time constraints. The advantages of this method include training independence and responsibility, increasing motivation, and training collaboration. Meanwhile, the disadvantages are that it takes longer, the teacher's burden is heavier, and there are variations in student abilities. Overall, this method has a positive impact on student engagement and understanding of Arabic vocabulary. For optimization, a more targeted mentoring strategy, good time management, and sufficient support for teachers are needed in implementing it

Inovasi dan Optimalisasi BMT Muhammadiyah dalam Pengembangan Ekonomi Syariah yang Kompetitif di Kota Makassar

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis inovasi produk syariah di Baitul Maal wat Tamwil (BMT) Muhammadiyah Makassar dan dampaknya terhadap perkembangan ekonomi syariah lokal. BMT Muhammadiyah, sebagai lembaga keuangan mikro berbasis syariah, menghadapi tantangan persaingan dengan lembaga keuangan konvensional serta kebutuhan untuk terus mengembangkan produk-produk yang relevan bagi masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, melalui wawancara mendalam dengan pengelola BMT, observasi langsung, dan analisis data sekunder dari laporan keuangan dan dokumen internal BMT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa inovasi produk syariah yang dilakukan oleh BMT Muhammadiyah, seperti pembiayaan UMKM, tabungan berbasis akad mudharabah, dan investasi syariah, telah mampu meningkatkan daya saing lembaga ini dalam pasar keuangan syariah lokal. Namun, masih terdapat kebutuhan untuk memperluas program literasi keuangan syariah dan meningkatkan penggunaan teknologi digital dalam layanan BMT. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa kolaborasi dengan sektor-sektor strategis, seperti UMKM, pendidikan, dan pariwisata halal, penting untuk memperluas jangkauan dan dampak ekonomi syariah di Kota Makassar. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan dasar bagi pengembangan kebijakan yang mendukung pertumbuhan ekonomi syariah serta meningkatkan kinerja dan daya saing BMT Muhammadiyah secara berkelanjutan

Al-Taḥlīl al-Manhajī lil-Kitāb al-Taʿlīmī "Al-Lughat al-ʿArabiyyah" lil-Ṣaff al-Rābiʿ al-Ibtidāʾī

This research aims to determine the extent to which Arabic textbooks for the fourth grade of elementary schools are suitable in terms of their suitability to the 2013 curriculum. To achieve this goal, this study uses descriptive research methods. The approach used in this research is qualitative, using the literature study method. We collected the data for this research by reviewing existing documents. The data from this research includes fourth-grade elementary school Arabic language textbooks, their contents, and the educational curriculum. The data was analyzed by looking at what was in the book and how it related to the curriculum. This was done to see how closely the teaching materials from the fourth-grade Arabic language book put out by the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia were in line with the 2013 Curriculum. The study's results indicate that the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia's fourth-grade Arabic language book, published at the school level, aligns with the 2013 curriculum, offering a range of teaching materials suitable for use in the Arabic language teaching process at the elementary school level. ined and enriched further to improve it, including religious elements in the topics presented, which need to be enriched to increase students' knowledge

Spirituality Magnetism in the Recitation of the Book of Al-Hikam: Inner Peace and Provision for Life in the Study of Intuitive Regions

This study aims to explore the dynamics of the Monday night religious gathering that studies Al-Hikam by Ibn 'Atha'illah as-Sakandari through a phenomenological approach. The research focuses on three main aspects: (1) understanding Al-Hikam as a guide for life through the lens of intuitive spirituality, (2) the ritual structure of the gathering as a religious tradition, and (3) the spiritual magnetism that consistently draws participants. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and field study at Pondok Pesantren Kebon Sari, Kediri. The findings reveal that the gathering serves not only as a space for textual learning but also as a powerful medium for inner transformation. The internalization of Sufi values such as trust in God, sincerity, and patience combined with the charisma of the spiritual teacher and the solemn atmosphere of the gathering creates a profound spiritual experience. This gathering significantly contributes to inner peace, the strengthening of faith, and harmonious social relations, offering a transformative and contextually relevant model of spiritual education amidst the existential crises of modern society

Masalah Terjemahan Kata Syu’arā’ sebagai Para Pemusik: Kajian Semantik

The problem of translating the word شعراء/syu’arā’ into para pemusik has caused reactions from various groups, including the MUI (Indonesian Ulema Council). To unravel this problem, translation accuracy is needed through semantic triangle (meaningful triangle) and the achievement of weltanscaaung (worldview of the language owner) in the semantic study of Toshihiko Izutsu. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with primary data obtained from the dictionary Lisan Arabi, the Tafsir Ruhul Ma’ani and the Tafsir of Zamakhsyari. The results of this study found that the problem of translating the word syu’arā’ into para pemusik is a fatal type of problem, because the concept meaning/fikrah angle in semantic triangle does not reach weltanschauung. The process of tracing the achievement of the weltanschauung of the word syu'arā' was carried out in 3 stages; 1) searching for basic meaning, 2) searching for relational meaning, and 3) searching for historical meaning. These three stages found that the meaning of syu'arā' is people who express words that are beautifully arranged in wazn and qafiyah, who are insightful and imaginative. This study proves that the correct translation of the word syu’arā’ is ‘para penyair’ not ‘para pemusik’. This study contributes to providing an accurate translation of the words syi’ir/شعر and syā’ir/شاعر in Indonesian

The Impact of Training and Organizational Culture on Marketing Employee Performance with Engagement as a Mediating Variable at PT Mentari Books Indonesia, Jakarta

Performance is an important factor in achieving the goals of an organization, including a company. Good employee performance will lead to significant growth and help achieve company goals, such as increasing sales, expanding market share, and providing customer satisfaction. Good employee performance will support every company activity and broadly impact all stakeholders involved. This research aims to examine the effect of training and organizational culture on the performance of the marketing workforce with engagement as a mediating variable at PT Mentari Books Indonesia Jakarta. The sampling method used is the saturated sampling or census method, where all 58 employees in the marketing division of PT Mentari Books Indonesia Jakarta are used as samples for this study. The research results show that (1) training does not have a significant effect on the performance of the marketing workforce, (2) organizational culture does not significantly affect the performance of the marketing workforce, (3) training has a positive and significant effect on the engagement of the marketing workforce, (4) organizational culture has a positive and significant effect on the engagement of the marketing workforce, (5) engagement does not significantly affect the performance of the marketing workforce, (6) training does not affect performance through the engagement of the marketing workforce, and (7) organizational culture does not affect performance through the engagement of the marketing workforce

Implementation of Remission Granting to Prisoners at the Permisan Nusa Kambangan Penitentiary

Remission is a right granted to prisoners who meet certain requirements while serving their sentences. This study discusses the process of granting remission at Permisan Class IIA Prison in Nusakambangan, which has stricter regulations compared to other prisons. Based on Law Number 22 of 2022 on Corrections, remission must meet administrative and substantive requirements, such as demonstrating good behavior and participating in rehabilitation programs. This study employs a qualitative method with a juridical-normative approach to analyze regulations and the implementation of remission policies at Permisan Prison. The findings indicate that remission at Permisan Prison is more selective due to the high number of inmates convicted of serious crimes. Additionally, transparency in the remission process has been enhanced through digitalized administration, including the use of barcodes and electronic signatures to prevent document manipulation. However, challenges remain, such as controversies over granting remission to serious crime offenders, necessitating regular evaluations of its implementation. This study concludes that remission is not only a form of reward for inmates but also an instrument to encourage rehabilitation and social reintegration while maintaining fairness for society
