Headspace Implementation into Nursing Curriculum, Targeting Stress Management in Healthcare
The Headspace Implementation Project at Belmont University aims to address the high levels of stress and burnout among nursing students by integrating mindfulness practices into the curriculum. Research indicates that unmanaged stress negatively impacts academic performance and clinical outcomes, with nearly 30% of students reporting stress-related academic interference. By incorporating Headspace into nursing education, students will develop essential stress management skills before entering the workforce, ultimately improving their well-being and patient care quality.
The project follows the SBAR framework, identifying stress as a major barrier to nursing success and proposing Headspace as an evidence-based intervention. Implementation includes faculty involvement, incentives for student participation, and a structured integration into capstone courses. Potential challenges, such as lack of time and awareness, will be addressed through strategic planning and engagement efforts.
Evaluation will focus on stress reduction, engagement, and academic improvement through surveys and participation tracking. Sustainability will be ensured through faculty training, student advocacy, and potential external funding. By normalizing mindfulness practices in nursing education, this project aims to create lasting change, reduce burnout, and foster a healthier and more resilient nursing workforce

Directing II Devised Scenes: Spark! (Group B)
Using Anne Bogart and Tina Landau\u27s criteria outlined in The Viewpoints Book, each student from Directing II creates an approximately fifteen-minute original stage composition in collaboration with student actors, focusing on the theme: Spark! These performances must utilize the nine physical Viewpoints of tempo, duration, repetition, kinesthetic response, spatial relationship, gesture (behavioral and expressive), shape, architecture, and topography to compose a story inspired by visual, aural, and literary inspirations. Additionally, these original works are supported by the students of the Luminous Motion lighting class, whose moving-light designs elevate this distinctive form of storytelling. It is the director’s job to unify and guide all collaborators as they develop a unique vision that clearly communicates the story they want to tell.
Rehearsals begin with a series of Viewpoint introductory exercises, where compositions are discovered through the exploration of both individual Viewpoints and open Viewpoints (an exercise which lets actors freely choose and create from any of the physical Viewpoints at a given time). After the story is set, the lighting designers are invited to develop their ideas for illuminating and elevating the work. Through several weeks of rehearsals, culminating in technical and dress rehearsals, performances are refined for public performance.

The Pawportunity for Love: KEERA PR Initiatives
KEERA PR initiatives, a team of five students in Public Relations Campaigns class, partnered with Pawsitive Rescue Division to conduct a semester-long service-learning strategic communications campaign for the nonprofit dog rescue organization based in Connecticut and Tennessee. The team developed social media materials and recommendations, web site recommendations for increasing SEO, and promotion materials for four fundraising events and two dog adoption events. Success of the campaign will be measured by various social media and fundraising metrics followed by implementation of these strategies and tactics by Pawsitive Rescue Division

The Illusion of Inclusion
Nashville prides itself on being a diverse and inclusive city. Segregation is often discussed in a way that places it firmly in the past, when that could not be further from the truth. The supreme court case Brown v. Board of Education ruled racial segregation in public schools unconstitutional in 1954. After stalling for three years, Nashville’s school board implemented the plan to desegregate public schools in 1957. However, the plan would require twelve years to accomplish, and integration was never legally enforced. Through research regarding racial policies, attitudes, and patterns within Nashville, it becomes clear that Nashville schools have yet to become truly integrated
