    Learning Methods in the Book Ta’lim al-Muta’allim by Az-Zarnuji: A Study of Classical Islamic Educational Thought

    The book Ta’lim al-Muta’allim by Az-Zarnuji remains a foundational text in the realm of Islamic education. This classical work offers a comprehensive discussion of ethical, spiritual, and methodological aspects of the learning process in Islam. The present study is motivated by the need for Islamic pedagogical models that go beyond cognitive development and also emphasize character formation and proper student conduct. The objective of this research is to explore the educational methods presented in Ta’lim al-Muta’allim and analyze their relevance to contemporary Islamic education. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research methods. Data were gathered through an in-depth textual analysis of Ta’lim al-Muta’allim and supported by classical and modern Islamic educational literature. The data were analyzed thematically to identify the core values, learning strategies, and pedagogical principles emphasized by Az-Zarnuji. The findings reveal that Ta’lim al-Muta’allim promotes learning methods that begin with sincere intention, the careful selection of teachers and companions, and the cultivation of proper etiquette toward knowledge, teachers, and peers. Its learning strategies—such as i’adah (repetition), tikrar (intensive review), taammul (deep reflection), and munazharah (discussion)—show strong alignment with modern pedagogical approaches. Moreover, personal virtues such as patience, humility (tawadhu’), piety (wara’), and trust in God (tawakkul) are deemed essential for student development.     Penelitian ini membahas mengenai peran Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (BAZNAS) Kabupaten Tulungagung dalam upaya pengentasan kemiskinan. Sebagai lembaga negara nonstruktural yang mengelola zakat secara nasional, BAZNAS memiliki peran strategis dalam mendistribusikan dana zakat untuk membantu masyarakat miskin dan mustahik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi, yang kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa BAZNAS Kabupaten Tulungagung berperan aktif dalam pengentasan kemiskinan melalui program-program seperti pemberdayaan ekonomi mustahik, bantuan pendidikan, bantuan kesehatan, serta bantuan konsumtif bagi kaum dhuafa. Meskipun demikian, terdapat beberapa tantangan seperti keterbatasan dana zakat dan kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat dalam membayar zakat melalui BAZNAS. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya peningkatan sosialisasi, penguatan sinergi dengan lembaga lain, serta inovasi program berbasis pemberdayaan agar peran BAZNAS dalam menanggulangi kemiskinan dapat lebih optimal

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis pemahaman mahasiswa Program Studi Ekonomi Syariah STAI Diponegoro Tulungagung terhadap akad Wadi’ah Yad Amanah. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada adanya kesenjangan antara teori yang diajarkan dalam pembelajaran fiqh muamalah dan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menerapkan serta mengkritisi praktik akad secara kontekstual. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik wawancara semi terstruktur kepada mahasiswa sebagai subjek utama, dan triangulasi sumber dilakukan dengan melibatkan dosen pengampu. Data dianalisis melalui tahapan reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman mahasiswa berada pada kategori sedang. Mahasiswa mampu menjelaskan konsep dasar dan struktur akad secara umum, namun masih kesulitan dalam mengaitkan dalil syar’i secara tepat dan melakukan analisis kritis terhadap praktik akad di lapangan.     Classical Islamic educational thought has made significant contributions to the development of an education system rooted in moral, spiritual, and intellectual values. One of the prominent figures in this field is Muhammad ‘Athiyah al-Abrasyi, whose work At-Tarbiyah al-Islamiyyah wa Falasifatuha presents profound ideas regarding the aims, principles, and methods of Islamic education. This study aims to analyze the educational values contained in the book and examine their relevance to contemporary Islamic education. This research employs a qualitative approach using the library research method. The primary source is al-Abrasyi’s original work, supported by secondary sources including books, journals, and previous studies. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the core values of education in al-Abrasyi’s perspective include moral education as a fundamental pillar, balanced preparation for both worldly and hereafter life, and the holistic development of individual potential. Furthermore, he emphasizes contextually appropriate educational methods such as advice, exemplary conduct, and moral evaluation.     Penelitian ini mengkaji nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam yang terkandung dalam anime Naruto, seperti kejujuran, kesabaran, kasih sayang, keadilan, ukhuwah dan solidaritas, tolong-menolong (ta’awun), pengendalian diri (mujahadah an-nafs), meminta maaf dan memaafkan, serta amanah dan tanggung jawab. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakter Naruto secara konsisten merefleksikan nilai-nilai ini; misalnya, kejujurannya dalam menghadapi rintangan dan musuh, kesabarannya dalam menggapai impian Hokage, serta kemampuannya untuk memaafkan dan menjalin persahabatan kuat menunjukkan relevansi nilai-nilai Islam dalam konteks fiksi. Setiap nilai dianalisis melalui karakter dan alur cerita Naruto, kemudian dihubungkan dengan ajaran Al-Qur'an dan Hadis. Melalui pendekatan ini, penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Naruto dapat menjadi media pembelajaran yang efektif untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai moral dan etika Islam kepada generasi muda, sekaligus menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai universal tersebut dapat ditemukan dalam media populer

The research employs a library research approach, where data is gathered from primary texts related to KH. Hasyim Asy’ari’s thought and relevant literature. Descriptive-qualitative analysis is used to uncover the educational values contained in the book and to examine their application in the modern educational context. The findings reveal that KH. Hasyim Asy’ari emphasized the importance of adab (etiquette), sincere intention, and respect for teachers as the main pillars of the educational process. His thoughts integrate both intellectual and moral aspects, with the goal of forming individuals who are knowledgeable and morally upright. Additionally, the educational values in Adabul ‘Alim wal Muta’allim are highly relevant to the challenges of contemporary education, especially in strengthening character and shaping the morals of students. The study also shows that KH.     Pemetaan Tipologi Pesantren di Desa Santri: Studi Kasus Desa Ganjaran Kabupaten Malang

    Pesantren merupakan institusi pendidikan Islam tertua di Indonesia yang terus mengalami perkembangan dan transformasi hingga tetap relevan dalam sistem pendidikan nasional. Salah satu wilayah yang memiliki konsentrasi pesantren cukup tinggi adalah Desa Ganjaran, Kecamatan Gondanglegi, Kabupaten Malang, yang dikenal sebagai Desa Santri. Namun, kajian akademik yang secara spesifik mengidentifikasi dan mengklasifikasikan tipologi pesantren di wilayah ini masih sangat terbatas. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginventarisasi seluruh pesantren di Desa Ganjaran serta mengkaji tipologinya berdasarkan teori-teori pendidikan pesantren dan kesesuaiannya dengan regulasi pendidikan nasional. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui dokumentasi arsip desa, situs resmi pesantren, dokumen internal lembaga, wawancara mendalam, serta observasi lapangan. Analisis data dilakukan melalui teknik pattern matching dan cross-case synthesis untuk mengidentifikasi pola-pola klasifikasi berdasarkan dimensi historis, sistem pembelajaran, kepemimpinan, legalitas, serta pengaruh sosial keagamaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 24 pesantren aktif di Desa Ganjaran. Pesantren tertua berdiri sejak tahun 1908 dan yang termuda didirikan pada 2023. Seluruh pesantren masih menganut sistem tradisional (salafiyah) dan sebagian besar masih dipimpin langsung oleh pendirinya. Pesantren telah memiliki fasilitas yang tergolong lengkap, namun sebagian belum memiliki izin operasional resmi. Secara umum, mayoritas pesantren memiliki pengaruh keagamaan yang meluas hingga luar Pulau Jawa, meskipun tidak ada yang memiliki lebih dari seribu santri mukim. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap pemahaman akademik tentang diversitas pesantren dalam satu wilayah desa serta implikasinya terhadap pengembangan kebijakan pendidikan Islam berbasis komunitas lokal.Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) are the oldest educational institutions in Indonesia, having undergone continuous development and transformation while maintaining their relevance within the national education system. One area with a high concentration of pesantren is Ganjaran Village, located in Gondanglegi Subdistrict, Malang Regency, widely recognized as a “Santri Village.” However, academic studies that specifically identify and classify the typology of pesantren in this area remain limited. This study, therefore, aims to comprehensively inventory all pesantren in Ganjaran Village and examine their typologies based on established theories of Islamic boarding school education and their alignment with national educational regulations. A qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach was employed. Data were collected through village archival documentation, official pesantren websites, internal institutional documents, in-depth interviews, and field observations. Data analysis was conducted using pattern matching and cross-case synthesis techniques to identify classification patterns based on historical dimensions, learning systems, leadership, legal status, and socio-religious influence. The findings reveal the presence of 24 active pesantren in Ganjaran Village. The oldest was established in 1908, and the most recent in 2023. All institutions follow a traditional (salafiyah) system, with most still under the leadership of their respective founders. While the majority are equipped with relatively complete facilities, some lack formal operational permits. Generally, most pesantren exert considerable religious influence extending beyond Java Island, although none have more than one thousand resident students. These findings contribute to the academic understanding of pesantren diversity within a single village context and offer valuable insights for the development of community-based Islamic education policies

    Ecology from the Perspective of Islamic Education: A Study of Kauniyah Verses and Their Relevance to the Green Curriculum

    The global ecological crisis is a pressing contemporary issue that demands immediate attention across various sectors, including education. Within the context of Islamic education, ecological values are deeply embedded in the teachings of the Qur’an through kauniyah (cosmic) verses that depict the order of nature and human responsibility as stewards (khalifah) on Earth. This study aims to examine the ecological principles within Islamic teachings and assess their relevance to the development of a green curriculum based on Islamic values. The main focus is to understand how kauniyah verses can serve as a conceptual foundation in formulating an Islamic education curriculum that is responsive to environmental issues. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research methods, in which data were collected through literature reviews of the Qur’an, the tafsir of Ibn Kathir, scholarly journals, Islamic education texts, and educational policy documents from international institutions such as UNESCO. The data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively by classifying kauniyah verses related to ecology and examining their integration into the Islamic educational curriculum. The findings indicate that Islam offers a comprehensive ecological worldview encompassing principles such as khalifah (vicegerency), amanah (trust), mīzān (balance), and iṣlāḥ (restoration). These values can be integrated into the curriculum through interdisciplinary learning, the strengthening of environmental character education, and the promotion of spiritual-ecological habits.     Transisi dari Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) ke jenjang Sekolah Dasar (SD) atau Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) kerap menimbulkan berbagai hambatan pembelajaran bagi anak, seperti kesulitan beradaptasi dengan rutinitas baru, tuntutan akademik, dan kurangnya kemandirian belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemberian Pekerjaan Rumah (PR) sebagai strategi dalam mengatasi hambatan pembelajaran selama masa transisi di Kelompok B RA Dewi Masithoh, Sumberejo, Geger, Madiun. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian PR yang terarah, khususnya dalam kemampuan menulis dan berhitung, serta disesuaikan dengan tahap perkembangan anak, mampu meningkatkan kesiapan belajar dan kemandirian peserta didik. Efektivitas PR sangat bergantung pada keterlibatan orang tua dalam mendampingi anak di rumah. Dengan demikian, pemberian PR secara terencana dan kolaboratif menjadi strategi efektif dalam menjembatani proses transisi anak usia dini menuju pendidikan dasar yang lebih formal

    Membangun Lulusan Siap Masa Depan: Inisiatif Strategis Pesantren dalam Mempersiapkan Santri Untuk Revolusi Industri 4.0

    Kemajuan teknologi yang pesat menuntut pesantren untuk beradaptasi agar tetap relevan di era digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi langkah strategis yang dilakukan Pondok Pesantren Wahid Hasyim, khususnya Komplek Ahmad Syafi’i, dalam menghadapi perubahan teknologi dan tantangan Revolusi Industri 4.0. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, dengan data yang diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan pengasuh dan kepala kurikulum SMK Ahmad Syafi’i Academy, serta dokumentasi berupa observasi, foto, dan arsip institusi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan empat strategi utama yang diterapkan: (1) mendirikan SMK Ahmad Syafi’i Academy untuk menyediakan pendidikan dan pelatihan vokasional, (2) meluncurkan program kewirausahaan untuk menumbuhkan jiwa wirausaha di kalangan santri, (3) mengembangkan boot camp pemrograman untuk meningkatkan keterampilan digital, dan (4) menyediakan kursus bahasa Arab dan Inggris untuk memperkuat kemampuan komunikasi global. Inisiatif ini dirancang untuk membekali santri dengan keterampilan yang relevan di era digital sambil tetap mempertahankan nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan penting tentang inovasi strategis dalam mengintegrasikan tradisi dengan modernitas untuk lembaga pendidikan Islam lainnya.The rapid advancement of technology requires Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) to adapt in order to remain relevant in the digital era. This study aims to identify the strategic steps taken by Pondok Pesantren Wahid Hasyim, particularly in the Ahmad Syafi’i Complex, in responding to technological changes and the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews with the head of the complex and the curriculum coordinator of SMK Ahmad Syafi’i Academy, as well as documentation in the form of observations, photos, and institutional records. The findings reveal four main strategies implemented: (1) establishing SMK Ahmad Syafi’i Academy to provide vocational education and training, (2) launching an entrepreneurship program to foster an entrepreneurial mindset among the students, (3) developing a programming boot camp to enhance students' digital skills, and (4) offering Arabic and English language courses to strengthen global communication skills. These strategies aim to equip students with the skills necessary to compete in the digital era while maintaining core Islamic educational values. This study provides valuable insights into strategic innovations that integrate tradition with modernity, offering lessons for other Islamic educational institutions facing similar challenges
