Syntactic Distribution of dare and shei indicating Indefiniteness

application/pdfBoth Japanese and Chinese interrogative pronouns have meanings and usages indicating indefiniteness. However, the corresponding and non-corresponding relationships between the two have not been clearly established in previous research. The purpose of this study is to clarify the indefinite expression of the Japanese word dare and the overall situation of its corresponding Chinese indefinite expressions, through observations of cases to determine corresponding and non-corresponding relationships. The results of the comparative analysis show that in Japanese, the meaning and function of expressing an unspecified person are carried out by dare. Whereas in Chinese, when expressing an unspecified person, besides the interrogative pronoun dare it is also found that sometimes reliance on context or interaction between elements is necessary.論文(Article)departmental bulletin pape

VAR Analysis of Japanese Alcoholic Beverage Exports and the Number of Foreign Visitors to Japan

application/pdfThis paper empirically examines the relationships between the number of tourists visiting Japan and Japanese exports of alcoholic beverages using the monthly data of the number of tourists and the value of Japanese alcoholic beverage exports from January 2008 to December 2019. Based on the Granger causality test, the paper finds that inbound tourism to Japan does Granger cause Japanese exports of alcoholic beverages, and vice versa. The empirical results showed that a 1% increase in inbound tourism from China, the United States, and Korea increases shochu exports to these countries by 0.83%, 0.42%,and 1.02%, respectively. Also, the results show that the effect of the impulse shock continues from five months to fifteen months after the initial shock.論文(Article)departmental bulletin pape

A Pragmatic Study of Japanese Request Behavior by Chinese Learners

application/pdfThis paper, which is based on Brown and Levinson’s (1978) politeness theory, analyzes the usage of requests by 90 undergraduate and graduate students who major in Japanese at Dalian University of Foreign Languages. The research participants were required to partake in three face-threatening scenarios with varying degrees of difficulty. The results reveal that in terms of basic state, as the difficulty of requests increases, the linguistic behaviors of both the third-year and fourth-year undergraduate students tend to be identical. In contrast, the graduate students demonstrated linguistic diversity, indicating a relatively higher level of Japanese proficiency compared to the undergraduate students. In terms of behavioral differences, there were significant differences among the third-year and fourth-year participants as well as the graduate students. More specifically, the third-year students showed no differences in high-level face-threatening scenarios, whereas fourth-year students displayed significant variation in this regard. Furthermore, graduate students with higher Japanese proficiency demonstrated differences in low-level face-threatening scenarios in which they made repeated requests to achieve communicative goals denoting an absence of formality amongst friends.論文(Article)departmental bulletin pape

application/pdf使用貸借については，2017年5月に成立し，2020年4月1日から施行されている「民法の一部を改正する法律」（平成29年法律第44号）により，従来は要物契約であったものが諾成契約化された。使用貸借は無償であることを原則とするが，無償性ゆえに，親族間の情義などといった特別な人間関係をもとに成立することが多い契約であり，賃貸借契約とは違って借地借家法の適用がないなどの理由から，契約当事者の権利性が脆弱である点に特徴がある。 このような使用貸借が有する無償性や権利の脆弱性といった特徴は，とりわけ「不動産の使用貸借」の場面において課税上の問題を生じさせる。近時の裁判例として，大阪高判令和4年7月20日（所得税更正処分等取消請求控訴事件，原審：大阪地判令和3年4月22日）では，親子間における不動産の使用貸借契約を利用した所得分割スキームに対する所得税法12条（実質所得者課税の原則）を適用した課税処分の適否が争われたが，同条の解釈論によって導き出された結論には疑問が残るところ，今後は，立法的措置による解決を視野に入れた議論がなされてもよいように思われる。論文(Article)departmental bulletin pape
