    Tourism Destination Development of "Geopark" Lumpur Lapindo

    Lumpur Lapindo is one of the new potential tourism in Sidoarjo which has strategic value to be managed, developed and marketed. The development of new tourism "Geopark" Lumpur LapindoSidoarjo can show the world that the humanitarian natural disaster can generate economic potential of local communities. This study aims to describe the involvement of stakeholders in the implementation of revolving funds program in Sidoarjo. Through a qualitative descriptive approach, this research seeks to provide an objective and comprehensive picture of the true state of development of the tourist destination "Geopark" Lumpur Lapindo. Data obtained through interviews with resource persons from PT. LapindoBrantas, NGOs, and Head of BappedaSidoarjo. The results of this study indicate that the development of "Geopark" Lumpur Lapindo tourism need the involvement of stakeholders from the government, in this case the Government of Sidoarjo, PT MinarakLapindoBrantas as the corporation responsible for the disaster, the owner of the land in the area affected of mud, and the surrounding community who participated in the development of "geopark" tourist destinations

    Empowerment of Starfruit Agro-Tourism as Tourism Icon in Blitar City

    The empowerment program in Blitar City is required by the community since the empowerment is expected to provide new employment. One of the programs is the empowerment of star fruit agro-tourism in Karangsari village by Blitar city government. The goal of this research is to describe the empowerment program conducted by the Blitar district government to the community as well as the obstacles that exist in the empowerment program. The research method used is qualitative with descriptive approach. Focus to the empowerment provided by the government of Blitar City to the community of Karangsari village in the management of tourism icon of starfruit agro-tourism. The outcomes of this research is empowerment done by government of Blitar City has succeeded to bear benefit towards society of Karangsari village society with new employment and marketing access of star fruit and processed star fruit. However, there are still several obstacles such as lack of promotion of star fruit agro-tourism in Blitar City

    Do The Gender Diversity in The Board Structures Have Impact on Managerial Firm Performance?

    Corporate governance has been perceived to be the driver of corporate performance especially if we associated the issue with gender diversity. However, literature has rare acknowledged that gender diversity issues on corporate governance have impact on the managerial performance. The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of gender diversity in the structure and ownership of the boards in relation with the companie’s performance in Indonesian firms. The study employed data sample of companies which the stocks are actively traded on the Indonesia Stock Exchange.By using panel data regression model, we determined the data of cross section and time series on 2013, 2014 and 2015. The sampling was simple random sampling, and the analytical techniques were panel data regression analysis. We also employed several hypothesis testing including Correlation analysis, Normality Test, multicolinearity, heteroscedastisity, and model estimation test.The results of this study, we found that the gender diversity in the boards have not significantly effect. However, the gender diversity in the board structures has negative effect and significant on the company's performance. Furthermore, this study also found that institutional ownership has negative effect on the company's performance. Finally, the managerial ownership showed similar results, namely a significant negative effect on the company’s performance

Questioning the advertisement will leads to the talks of communication strategy and creative execution advertising.  This research analyses the application of strategies and creative execution. Qualitative approach of this study is utilizing case study method. The outcomes of the research indicate that the use of local culture in commercial advertising can have a positive impact on advertisers, culture, and society. Advertisers and advertiser agencies ought to be aware of the cultural insight importance in the advertisement. Creativity is the key to advertising success

    Tourism development is nowadays considered as one of the development, economic improvement, and prosperity efforts of the outer islands in Indonesia. All this time, development strategy of tourism development only rely on the potential of nature and always depend onto the physical potential, infrastructure and natural resource potential, yet does not involve its human factors. Although the potential of natural resources is indeed abundant tourism selling value, still without accompanied by changes in human behavior, such trial will not produce the aimed results. This requires the participation of local communities and the development of the local communities’ value in the overall development phase from the planning, implementation and supervision stage. This research describes the involvement of local communities as well as the preservation of cultural values of local communities in the tourism development and formulates a model of tourism development that puts forward the values and participation of local communities.     Achievement of Inclusive Development in Tourism Development in Pulau Merah of Banyuwangi Regency

    The development of tourism on the coast of Pulau Merah Banyuwangi has resulted in the welfare felt directly by the people around the coast. This article discussed the results of development of the Pulau Merah coast by using the inclusive development paradigm, they are consists of benefits, participation, and ecology aspects. This qualitative research has used a case study approach. Data collection was conducted through interviews of 27 informants. The results of this study indicated that in the development of tourism in Pulau Merah, especially the achievement of inclusive development was good. This is caused in three aspects of inclusive development; the aspects of benefits, participation, and ecology are well implemented. The benefits of the development of Pulau Merah have been felt evenly by the people. Community participation of Pulau Merah coast is quite high. The public awareness of the importance of ecology on the coast of Pulau Merah is also high

    The concepts of Halal/Sharia Tourism nowadays become a trend as well as another golden opportunity almost in every region. Banyuwangi as one of the regions that have the potential resource of coastal zone, marine and islets now is striving to develop and take advantages from the tourism sector with sharia beach tourism, especially in Santen Island, Karangrejo village, Banyuwangi. The aims of this research are to describe the empowerment of coastal communities in accordance with the development of sharia tourism on the Coast of Santen Island. In conformity with the purpose of the research that has been conveyed, the type of research used within this discourse is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data collection is done through interviews, observation, and documentation. Techniques of data analyzing are utilizing interactive analysis proposed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldana.     Kali Jodo, which located in West Jakarta region, was famous for localization area. Negative impression attached to Kali Jodo progressively disappeared after the 17th Jakarta Governor inaugurated the Children-Friendly Integrated Space (RPTRA) of Kali Jodo on 2nd of February, 2017. The resilient political changes in the Jakarta Governor Election period of 2017 instantaneously bring changes to the function of Kali Jodo recreational place became a political space. From the case above, this paper will review on how political communication that occurred from the function alternation of recreation place into political space. The approach utilized in this research is qualitative case study. The result of this research is the function alternation from localization to recreation brought positive impact for the surrounding society. Yet, along with the political development of Jakarta Governor Election, Kali Jodo actually becomes a political contest space for political actors to attract public sympathy that ultimately create a mute community
