Teachers' Perceptions of the Implementation of Scaffolding-Metacognitive Strategies in Mathematics Learning
Scaffolding-metacognitive is a strategy to help students understand mathematical material, but some teachers do not yet understand the extent to which they can use the metacognitive scaffolding strategy in the learning process. This study aims to determine teachers' perceptions of the implementation of scaffolding-metacognitive strategies in mathematics learning in secondary schools. Scaffolding-metacognitive strategies, combining step-by-step teaching with the development of students' awareness and control of their thinking processes, Scaffolding-metacognitive strategies are an effective approach to improving students' understanding of complex mathematical concepts and critical thinking skills. This study used a qualitative descriptive method and the participants consisted of 15 mathematics teachers from several high schools in Makassar City and Gowa Regency. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and direct observation during the learning process. We used the Miles & Huberman analysis framework to analyze the collected data, namely: (1) data reduction; (2) data interpretation and condensation; (3) verification and drawing conclusions.. The results of data analysis showed that 60% of teachers did not understand the scaffolding-metacognitive strategy, teachers mentioned several implementation challenges, such as the difficulty of adapting strategies to students' different abilities and limited time to plan and implement learning. In addition, teachers must estimate students' actual and potential knowledge so that teachers can provide scaffolding according to students' needs. Teachers need further support and training to overcome the challenges they face when implementing scaffolding-metacognitive strategies. This research makes an important contribution to the development of more effective educational policies and teacher training programs to improve the quality of mathematics education in secondary schools
Tingkat Phubbing pada Siswa Sekolah Rendah Santi Witya Serong School
Salah satu dampak buruk dari kecanggihan teknologi dan penggunaan smartphone secara berlebihan adalah phubbing. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat phubbing pada siswa-siswi kelas 6 Sekolah Rendah Santi Witya Serong School, Provinsi Pattani, Thailand Selatan. Jenis penelitian ini kuantitatif deskriptif. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah dengan pengisian instrument alat ukur Generic Scale of Phubbing GSP, yang dimodifikasi dengan diterjemahkan kedalam bahasa Thailand, dan dikuatkan dengan pengamatan langsung oleh peneliti. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 40 orang, merupakan siswa-siswi kelas 6-1 dan 6-2 Santi Witya Serong School. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat phubbing berada dalam kategori sedang, dengan prosentase 52.50%. Artikel ini, memberikan rekomendasi berupa gambaran sekaligus contoh sebagai upaya meminimalisir phubbing bagi anak-anak di Indonesia, agar implementasi kegiatan tradisional kebudayaan, keagamaan, kebiasaan, dan peningkatan pengawasan orang tua terhadap penggunaan smart phone, secara signifikan dapat mengurangi waktu yang dihabiskan oleh anak-anak untuk bermain smart phone.Abstract: One of the negative impacts of technological sophistication and excessive use of smartphones is phubbing. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of phubbing in grade 6 students of Sekolah Rendah Santi Witya Serong School, Pattani Province, Southern Thailand. This type of research is quantitative descriptive. The data collection method used is by filling in the Generic Scale of Phubbing GSP measuring instrument, which was modified by being translated into Thai, and strengthened by direct observation by the researcher. The population in this study was 40 people, who were students of grades 6-1 and 6-2 of Santi Witya Serong School. The results showed that the level of phubbing was in the moderate category, with a percentage of 52.50%. This article provides recommendations in the form of descriptions and examples as an effort to minimize phubbing for children in Indonesia, so that the implementation of traditional cultural, religious, customary activities, and increased parental supervision of smartphone use can significantly reduce the time spent by children playing with smartphones
PELATIHAN PEMBUATAN KERAJINAN TANGAN SUSIRU DI DESA MIRA KEPULAUAN MOROTAI
Abstract. Mira Village is famous for its strong culture. The culture of Mira Village is the result of inheritance from ancestors, such as marriage culture, celebrations and handicrafts. The craftsmen in Mira Village produce a variety of crafts that are culturally valuable and also authentically typical of North Maluku. One of them is a typical North Maluku handicraft made from bamboo, namely susuru. Based on the importance of preserving local culture and the need for suriu craftsmen which are becoming increasingly scarce, training activities for making susiru handicrafts were initiated by Khairun University. This activity received funding from the Ministry of Education and Culture for Community Service in 2023 through the Community Empowerment by Students (PMM) scheme. The training will be held in August 2023 in 5 meetings. The initial activity location was at the Mira Village hall and the next meeting was at the residents' homes. The target of this activity is Mira Village housewives. The aim of this activity is to provide basic training in making susiru so that it is hoped that public interest can increase and increase the number of susiru craftsmen in Mira Village. The result of this activity is an increase in community understanding and skills. After this activity was completed, there were 5 craftsmen who were active in making susuru handicrafts.Abstrak. Desa Mira terkenal dengan budaya yang kental. Budaya Desa Mira merupakan hasil warisan dari nenek moyang seperti budaya perkawinan, hajatan sampai dengan kerajinan tangan. Para pengrajin di Desa Mira menghasilkan beragam kerajinan yang bernilai budaya dan juga otentik khas Maluku Utara. Salah satunya adalah kerajinan tangan khas Maluku Utara yang terbuat dari bambu yaitu susiru. Berdasarkan pentingnya melestarikan budaya lokal dan kebutuhan dari pengrajin suriu yang semakin hari semakin sedikit, maka kegiatan pelatihan pembuatan kerajinan tangan susiru diinisiasi oleh Universitas Khairun. Kegiatan ini memperoleh pendanaan Kemdikbudristek Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat tahun 2023 melalui skim Pemberdayaan Masyarakat oleh Mahasiswa (PMM). Pelatihan dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus 2023 sebanyak 5 kali pertemuan. Tempat kegiatan perdana di balai Desa Mira dan pertemuan berikutnya di rumah warga. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah ibu- ibu rumah tangga Desa Mira. Tujuan dilaksanakan kegiatan ini adalah memberikan pelatihan dasar pembuatan susiru sehingga diharapkan ketertarikan masyarakat dapat meningkat dan menambah pengrajin susiru di Desa Mira. Hasil kegiatan berdasarkan hasil evaluasi adalah adalah pemahaman dan skill yang meningkat. Setelah kegiatan ini selesai, ada 5 pengrajin yang aktif membuat kerajinan tangan susiru.
Nanoparticles and Nanoliposomes for Hair Growth Serum
Solubility in penetrating the follicles is the main obstacle in the formulation of hair growth serum preparation with chemicals derived from natural or synthetic materials. Therefore, a delivery system is needed to deliver more chemical compounds into the follicles. Nanoparticles and nanoliposomes are potential chemical compound delivery systems in hair growth serum. Specifically, nanoparticles with a particle size of less than 200 nm can increase the transport of serum chemical compounds into the scalp. The small particle size makes the interaction between atoms and molecules faster and prevents clumping with the repulsive force of dispersed particles. Meanwhile, nanoliposomes with lipids as encapsulation in the delivery of lipophilic or hydrophilic chemical compounds with nanosizes can significantly increase serum diffusion on the scalp
PENGARUH LITERASI KEUANGAN, OVERCONFIDENCE, DAN HERDING BIAS TERHADAP KEPUTUSAN INVESTASI
Tujuan penelitian ini ialah mengeksplorasi efek literasi keuangan, overconfidence, dan herding bias pada keputusan investasi. Metode penelitian ialah kausal kuantitatif. Populasi adalah anggota Ciputra Entrepreneur Club Bali. Sampel penelitian dengan metode purposive sampling sebanyak 61 responden. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis menggunakan SPSS Versi 26, yaitu analisis uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, uji asumsi klasik, serta uji hipotesis, termasuk analisis regresi linier berganda, uji statistik t, uji statistik F, dan uji koefisien determinasi. Hasil pengujian membuktikan bahwa literasi keuangan memiliki efek positif dan signifikan pada keputusan investasi, sementara overconfidence dan herding bias memiliki efek negatif dan signifikan. Secara simultan, literasi keuangan, overconfidence, dan herding bias memiliki efek signifikan pada keputusan investasi. Hasil ini mencerminkan kecenderungan investor untuk membuat keputusan investasi yang dipengaruhi oleh tingkat literasi keuangan, overconfidence, dan herding bias
Manajemen of independent curriculum teaching modules with style materials
Educational achievement in Education for Sustainable Development (EfSD) demands fair and equitable education. This condition gives rise to various preparations that must be taken into account by teaching staff through program plans and strategies designed to achieve the quality of education as regulated in the curriculum. The aim of the research is to examine the conditions for implementing EfSD in elementary schools through the management of learning modules. The research uses the Research and Development or R&D method with the ADDIE model. The research begins with an analysis stage consisting of analysis of problems, needs and curriculum, teachers and students. The design stage takes the form of resource management and management of material aspects through the development of independent curriculum teaching modules. At this stage, a validation test was carried out by material experts and practitioners which resulted in an average of 94.48%. Then the implementation or trial phase was limited to 10 students, the test was extensive on 22 grade 4 students. The evaluation stage aims to determine the suitability of the independent curriculum teaching module product for use in schools. The test results showed that student responses were limited to 87.87% and broadly 93.24%. It can be concluded that the development of teaching modules attracts students to learn according to their characteristics, skills and interests
Manajemen Kelas untuk Pembelajaran Efektif di Lembaga Pendidikan Islam Anak Usia Dini
Pembelajaran efektif adalah hal yang perlu digapai dari para pendidik. Kesulitan pada kelas menjadikan guru belum secara maksimal dalam mendidik peserta didik. Guru perlu untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui manajemen kelas untuk pembelajaran efektif di RA PSM Gunungan Magetan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah ketua yayasan, kepala sekolah, 3 guru kelas, 1 guru pendamping, dan orang tua. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Lokasi penelitian pada sekolah Lembaga Pendidikan Islam Raudhatul Athfal PSM Gunungan. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasu. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran di manajemen kelas guna mencaapi pembelajaran efektif adalah aspek siswa, desain kelas, pembelajaran serta komunikasi. Guru membantu anak agar tercipta pembelajaran efektif dengan menerapkan model gaya belajar, menjaga lingkungan kelas, memastikan sarana prasarana sesuai kebutuhan anak, menjalankan proses KBM tersusun dan terarah menggunakan RPPH yang telah dibuat sesuai rencana bersama, dan menciptakan komunikasi yang sistematis dan mudah dipahami
Tren Penelitian Literasi Matematika di Indonesia: Analisis Bibliometric
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tren penelitian tentang literasi matematika di Indonesia. Tren penelitian dipetakan menggunakan metode analisis bibliometric dengan database SINTA (Science and Technology Index) yang melibatkan 466 publikasi dengan rincian jurnal yang sesuai scope pendidikan matematika sebanyak 139 jurnal yang mempublikasikan penelitian dengan topik literasi matematika dalam kurun waktu 2009 sampai dengan 2023 menunjukkan bahwa artikel tentang topik literasi matematika terbanyak dilakukan pada tahun 2022. Penulis dengan jumlah artikel terbanyak tentang literasi matematika adalah Wardono dengan total sitasi untuk seluruh penelitian dengan topik ini adalah 165 sitasi. Jurnal tujuan yang membahas topik literasi matematika terbanyak adalah Aksioma Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika yang dipublikasikan oleh Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro. Kata kunci yang paling banyak digunakan dalam penelitian-penelitian literasi matematika di Indonesia adalah mathematical literacy, disusul mathematics literacy ability, PISA, PBL (Problem-Based Learning) dan mathematics literacy. Penelitian selanjutnya dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan topik-topik yang masih jarang dihubungkan dengan literasi matematika misalnya group investigation, information literacy, SPLTV (Sistem Persamaan Linear Tiga Variabel), computer self-efficacy, scaffolding dan sebagainya.The purpose of this study is to ascertain the direction of mathematical literacy research in Indonesia. The SINTA (Science and Technology Index) database is used to map research trends using bibliometric analysis. This database contains details of 466 publications that correspond to the scope of mathematics education, as well as 139 journals that publish research on the topic of mathematical literacy between 2009 and 2023. The results indicate that the majority of articles on the topic of mathematical literacy were conducted in 2022. With 165 citations overall for all the studies on this subject, Wardono is the author with the most articles on mathematical literacy. The Aksioma Journal of Mathematics Education, which is published by Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro, is the journal that addresses mathematical literacy the most. Mathematical literacy is the most commonly used term in mathematical literacy research in Indonesia, followed by mathematics literacy ability, PISA, PBL (Problem-Based Learning), and mathematics literacy. Further study may be conducted on issues that are not commonly linked with mathematical literacy, such as group investigation, information literacy, SPLTV (System of Linear Equations Three Variables), computer self-efficacy, scaffolding, and so on.
Pengenalan Bahasa Inggris untuk Anak Usia Dini
Pengenalan bahasa Inggris untuk anak usia dini penting karena globalisasi telah menjadikan bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa internasional yang krusial dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan. Anak-anak memiliki kemampuan optimal untuk menyerap bahasa baru pada usia dini, sehingga pengenalan bahasa Inggris sejak awal dapat memberikan keuntungan jangka panjang. Pembelajaran bahasa asing pada usia dini juga dapat meningkatkan perkembangan kognitif dan pemahaman lintas budaya. Kajian ini perlu dilakukan untuk mengembangkan metode pengajaran yang efektif dan sesuai dengan tahap perkembangan anak, sehingga dapat memaksimalkan manfaat pembelajaran bahasa Inggris bagi anak usia dini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dan menganalisis proses pengenalan bahasa Inggris untuk anak usia dini. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam dengan guru dan orang tua, serta analisis dokumen kurikulum. Lokasi penelitian di RA Sunniyyah Selo Grobogan. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan berharga tentang strategi yang efektif dalam memperkenalkan bahasa Inggris kepada anak usia dini di lingkungan pendidikan Islam, serta memberikan rekomendasi praktis untuk pengembangan kurikulum dan metode pengajaran di RA Sunniyyah Selo Grobogan dan institusi serupa lainnya. Selain itu, penelitian ini berimplikasi pada peningkatan kesadaran akan pentingnya pengenalan bahasa Inggris sejak usia dini di lingkungan pendidikan anak usia dini, khususnya di RA Sunniyyah Selo Grobogan. Hasil penelitian juga dapat mendorong peningkatan kualitas dan kompetensi guru dalam mengajarkan bahasa Inggris kepada anak-anak usia dini di lembaga pendidikan serupa
The Effect Of Annealing Temperature On The Properties Of Thin Zno Films Deposited Using Microwave-Assisted Spray Pyrolysis System
This research aims to determine the optimal annealing temperature for the production of ZnO thin films using the microwave-assisted spray pyrolysis method. In the ZnO growth process, a high microwave temperature was used, with a spray pressure of 20 kg/m2, a nozzle distance of 12 cm, 3 layers, a spray duration of 5 seconds, and a 1-minute interval between layers. Annealing temperature variations included 300°C, 350°C, 400°C, 450°C, 500°C, 550°C, and 600°C. SEM results indicated that the best morphology was achieved at 400°C, with the smoothest and least cracked surface. EDX results showed the highest ZnO composition percentage at 450°C, which was 93.61%.The optical properties obtained from UV-Vis spectroscopy revealed the lowest absorption in the visible light wavelength range (400-700 nm) at an annealing temperature of 450°C. Furthermore, the highest transmittance and the lowest bandgap were observed at an annealing temperature of 450°C, measuring 90.77% and 3.00 eV, respectively. Crystal property analysis from XRD data revealed that all samples had a hexagonal wurtzite structure. The best crystal index was achieved at 450°C, with a value of 81.899%. Increasing the annealing temperature improved the crystal properties, as evidenced by a decreasing full width half maximum (FWHM) until 450°C, which was 0.476°
