Speech and language therapy in Slovenia
Speech and language therapy is a discipline dedicated to identifying, treating and preventing speech and language disabilities, thereby making an important contribution to improving people\u27s communication skills. This chapter examines the contributions of speech and language therapists in Slovenia, focusing on their educational pathways, career prospects and the various professional settings they engage with, including healthcare, education and social care environments. A significant emphasis is placed on the education of speech and language therapists, equipping students with the necessary competencies to assist individuals with speech and language disabilities. The chapter also addresses the increasing demand for qualified professionals and the importance of early and integrated treatment for individuals of all ages. The conclusion stresses the need to expand training opportunities and enhance access to speech and language therapy services in Slovenia
Classroom design as a way of motivating students for artistic activities
In this chapter, we present the results of a case study that we conducted to discover how the equipment and space of a design in a universal classroom can encourage students\u27 spontaneous artistic expression. The study included fifth-grade students and their generalist teacher. In the 2022-2023 school year, pupils were offered an art station that included various art materials and art challenges. We aimed to determine how students would utilize the space for artistic expression, their approach to selecting art materials, and their attitude toward art activities outside of art classes. Data were collected by analysing the teacher\u27s observation diary, photographs of the art works, and student surveys. The results showed that the art station was very well received by the students and that the most popular material for modelling was clay. Spending free time with friends was also a very important aspect of the art station
System for automated testing of prototype printed circuit boards
V magistrskem delu je obravnavano načrtovanje in implementacija sistema za avtomatsko testiranje tiskanih vezij na prototipih pred serijsko proizvodnjo. V nalogi so predstavljene ključne tehnologije in standardi, ki so pomembni za razvoj sistema. Strežniški del sistema je bil razvit s programskim jezikom Python in uporabo ogrodja FastAPI in Uvicorn. Odjemalni del sistema je prav tako razvit s programskim jezikom Python, vendar z uporabo okolja JupyterLab. Podatki in poročila se shranjujejo v oddaljeno podatkovno bazo MySQL. Sistem omogoča hitrejše izvajanje enakih testov v enakih pogojih, saj poročilo in priložena datoteka vsebujeta vse potrebne informacije za ponovno izvedbo testiranja. Cilj razvoja sistema je razbremenitev testerja pisanja poročila in s tem pospešitev izvajanja testov, pri čemer pa ne trpi kvaliteta izvajanja testa.The master’s thesis deals with the design and implementation of a system for automatic testing of printed circuits on prototypes before serial production. The assignment presents the key technologies and standards that are so important for system development. The server part of the system was developed using the Python programming language, and its use is compromised by FastAPI and Uvicorn. The client part of the system is also developed with the Python programming language, but using the JupyterLab environment. Data and reports are stored in a remote MySQL database. The system enables faster execution of the same tests under the same conditions, as the report in the attached file contains all the necessary information to perform the testing again. The goal of developing the system is to relieve the tester of writing reports and thereby speed up the execution of tests, while the quality of the test execution does not suffer
Capital structure of slovenian public companies in different countries
Kapitalska struktura je ključni dejavnik finančne stabilnosti in rasti podjetja, saj vpliva na njegovo vrednost, donosnost in odpornost na tveganja. Iskanje pravega ravnovesja med lastniškim in dolžniškim kapitalom ni enostaven proces, temveč zahteva prilagajanje dinamičnim tržnim razmeram in panogi kot tudi prihodnjih sprememb. Čeprav teorije kapitalske strukture ponujajo različne pristope, praksa kaže, da optimalna odločitev ni univerzalna za vsa podjetja, temveč rezultat tehtnega premisleka o stroških financiranja, tveganjih in dolgoročnih ciljih podjetja. Razumevanje naštetih dejavnikov omogoča podjetjem sprejemanje premišljenih finančnih odločitev, ki krepijo njihovo konkurenčnost, vrednost in rast.
V magistrski nalogi predstavimo in podrobno opišemo pojem kapitalske strukture ter povprečnega tehtanega stroška kapitala (WACC) in vse komponente, potrebne za izračun. Nato na primerih slovenskih javnih podjetjih implementiramo teoretični vidik analize kapitalske strukture glede na preteklo poslovanje (2019-2023) in izračunamo sedanjo ter optimalno kapitalsko strukturo in WACC. Kapitalsko strukturo smo analizirali s kazalnikom dolga in kazalnikom finančnega vzvoda. Prvi nam prikaže stopnjo celotnega dolga v celotnih sredstvih, slednji pa razmerje med komponentama kapitala. Strošek lastniškega kapitala smo izračunali z metodo določanja cen dolgoročnih naložb (CAPM), strošek dolžniškega kapitala pa smo izračunali s pomočjo sintetične bonitetne ocene, ki določa premijo za kreditno tveganje.Capital structure is a fundamental determinant of a company\u27s financial stability and growth, as it affects its value, profitability, and resilience to risk. Striking the right balance between equity and debt financing is a complex process that requires continuous adaptation to dynamic market conditions, industry-specific factors, and future developments. While capital structure theories offer various frameworks, practical experience indicates that no universal solution exists for all companies. Instead, the optimal choice depends on a thorough assessment of financing costs, risk exposure, and the company’s long-term strategic objectives. A comprehensive understanding of these factors enables firms to make well-informed financial decisions that enhance their competitiveness, market value, and sustainable growth.
This master\u27s thesis provides an in-depth examination of capital structure and the weighted average cost of capital (WACC), including all its underlying components. The theoretical framework is then applied to an analysis of Slovenian publicly traded companies, assessing their capital structure in the context of historical performance (2019–2023). We calculate both the current and optimal capital structure, as well as WACC, using empirical data. The analysis employs key financial indicators such as the debt ratio, which reflects the proportion of total debt in a firm\u27s total assets, and the financial leverage ratio, which measures the relationship between equity and debt financing. The cost of equity is estimated using the Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM), while the cost of debt is determined through a synthetic credit rating approach, which defines the credit risk premium
Recognition of plants and their diseases with mobile application
Raziskava obravnava prepoznavanje izbranih rastlin in njihovih bolezni s pomočjo
mobilne aplikacije. Na kratko so predstavljena uporabljena orodja: Orange Data mining,
Android Studio, MS Visio, Figma, Flask, Nginx in Gunicorn. Arhitektura rešitve obsega
virtualno okolje v oblaku s strežniki za dostop do modelov za klasifikacijo rastlin in
njihovih bolezni in aplikacijo Android. Opisan je postopek izdelave modelov strojnega
učenja, ki so bili preneseni na strežnik. V nalogi so prikazani pomembni deli kode in
podana razlaga vseh aspektov delovanja aplikacije.The research focuses on recognizing selected plants and their diseases through a
mobile application. Key tools Orange Data Mining, Android Studio, Figma, Flask, Nginx,
and Gunicorn are briefly introduced. The solution\u27s architecture consists of a cloud
based virtual environment hosting servers that run models to classify plants and their
diseases, along with an Android application. The process of developing machine
learning models and deploying them to the server is detailed, with essential code
snippets and explanations of all aspects of the application\u27s functionality provided in
the assignment
Chromatographic methods for the determination of lipid peroxidation biomarkers from physiological samples
V magistrskem delu smo razvili in validirali kromatografske metode za določanje biomarkerjev lipidne peroksidacije v fizioloških vzorcih, s poudarkom na malondialdehidu (MDA), ki je ključni kazalec oksidativnega stresa. Uporabili smo tehnike plinske kromatografije z masno spektrometrijo (GC-MS) in tekočinske kromatografije z masno spektrometrijo (LC-MS/MS), ki omogočajo visoko občutljivost in selektivnost pri analizi kompleksnih bioloških vzorcev, kot je serum. Validacija metod je vključevala oceno linearnosti, ponovljivosti, točnosti in mej zaznave (LOD) za MDA in sorodne spojine. Poleg tega smo izvajali teste antioksidativne kapacitete, kot so DPPH, FRAP, CUPRAC, ORAC in TAC, da bi ocenili sposobnost seruma in drugih vzorcev pri nevtralizaciji prostih radikalov. Rezultati kažejo, da so razvite metode natančne, občutljive in primerne za analizo MDA v fizioloških vzorcih. Ugotovili smo, da koncentracije MDA korelirajo z intenzivnostjo oksidativnega stresa, kar potrjuje uporabnost teh biomarkerjev pri spremljanju patoloških stanj. Poleg tega smo pokazali, da ima serum pomembno antioksidativno kapaciteto, ki jo je mogoče učinkovito ovrednotiti z uporabo kombinacije različnih testov. Magistrsko delo prispeva k razvoju naprednih analitskih orodij za raziskave oksidativnega stresa, ki so ključnega pomena za razumevanje vpliva lipidne peroksidacije na zdravje in bolezni ter za razvoj novih terapevtskih strategij.In this master\u27s thesis, we developed and validated chromatographic methods for the determination of lipid peroxidation biomarkers in physiological samples, focusing on malondialdehyde (MDA), a key indicator of oxidative stress. We employed gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) techniques, which provide high sensitivity and selectivity for analyzing complex biological samples, such as serum. The method validation included the assessment of linearity, repeatability, accuracy, and limits of detection (LOD) for MDA and related compounds. Additionally, we performed antioxidant capacity tests, including DPPH, FRAP, CUPRAC, ORAC, and TAC, to evaluate the ability of serum and other samples to neutralize free radicals. The results demonstrate that the developed methods are precise, sensitive, and suitable for MDA analysis in physiological samples. We found that MDA concentrations correlate with oxidative stress levels, confirming the utility of these biomarkers in monitoring pathological conditions. Furthermore, we showed that serum exhibits significant antioxidant capacity, which can be effectively evaluated using a combination of different assays. This master\u27s thesis contributes to the development of advanced analytical tools for oxidative stress research, which are essential for understanding the impact of lipid peroxidation on health and disease and for advancing new therapeutic strategies
Integrating natural science and technical content with experiential learning in nature: a sample model for conducting activities within various forest enviroments
Osrednja naloga magistrskega dela je bila raziskati pomen naravoslovnega in tehničnega izobraževanja v naravnem (gozdnem) okolju, s poudarkom na izkustvenem učenju in praktičnih aktivnostih. Sestavljena je iz teoretičnega in praktičnega dela.
V teoretičnem delu so predstavljeni vsebine predmeta naravoslovje in tehnika ter tudi pomembnost in vpliv učenja v naravi, vloga staršev in primeri dobrih praks. Velika pozornost se namenja učnim pristopom, kot so raziskovalno učenje, taborništvo, gozdna pedagogika in pustolovsko učenje, ki koristijo pri poučevanju v naravnih okoljih. Omenjen je tudi pomen gozda v izobraževanju.
Praktični del zavzema sklop nalog in opis treh aktivnosti (vezanje vozlov, izdelava gozdnega kolesa in gradnja bivaka), ki so bile izvedene na dveh osnovnih šolah v različnih naravnih okoljih. Enkrat v mestnem parku, drugič pa v klasičnem slovenskem gozdu. Aktivnosti so bile zasnovane s pomočjo učne priprave in predstavljene s pomočjo priročnika. Rezultati so potrdili večjo stopnjo motivacije, zanimanja, ustvarjalnosti in sodelovanja učencev pri izvedbi. Prav tako se je uresničilo, da je narava ponudila prostor, ki ponuja bogate možnosti za celostni in trajnostni razvoj vseh učencev.The main task of the Master\u27s thesis was to explore the importance of science and technology education in a natural (forest) environment, with a focus on experiential learning and hands-on activities. The thesis itself consists of a theoretical and a practical part.
The theoretical part presents the content of the school subject Science and Technology, as well as the importance and impact of outdoor learning, the role of parents and examples of good practice. Much attention is paid to learning approaches such as exploratory learning, scouting, forest pedagogy and adventure learning, which are useful for teaching in natural environments, like forests.
The practical part consists of a set of tasks and a description of three activities (knot-tying, water wheel making and building a bivouac) carried out in two primary schools in different natural environments. One in a city park and the other in a traditional Slovenian forest. The activities were designed using a teaching preparation and presented using a manual. The results confirmed a higher level of motivation, interest, creativity and participation of the pupils. It was also realised that nature offered a space that offered rich opportunities for the holistic and sustainable development of all learners
Advertising via social media and influencers
V diplomskem delu smo obravnavali vlogo oglaševanja preko družbenih omrežij in vplivnostnih oseb, ki jih imenujemo vplivneži. V teoretičnem delu smo se osredotočili na pojem marketinško komuniciranje, ki vključuje oglaševanje preko družbenih omrežij in s pomočjo spletnih vplivnežev. Vplivnostni marketing je postal del naših življenj. Vplivneži igrajo pomembno vlogo v poslovnem svetu. Ljudje si danes težko predstavljamo življenje brez družbenih omrežij, saj vsakodnevno posegamo po njih. Diplomsko delo obravnava vpliv oglaševanja preko družbenih omrežij in s pomočjo vplivnežev v sodobnem poslovnem okolju. Osredotočili smo se na analizo učinkov, ki jih ima uporaba vplivnežev in družbenih omrežij na zaznavanje blagovnih znamk ter nakupne odločitve potrošnikov. V raziskavi so preučeni ključni vidiki marketinškega komuniciranja, kot na primer izbira specifičnih skupin, izbira vplivnežev in prilagajanje vsebin družbenim omrežjem, ki so na slovenskem trgu najbolj popularni. V prvem delu smo najprej obravnavali teoretična izhodišča, kjer je predstavljen pojem digitalni marketing in vplivnostni marketing. Predstavljena bodo družbena omrežja ter vpliv družbenih omrežij na poslovanje podjetij. Dejstva bomo povzeli s pomočjo intervjuja z nekaj spletnimi vplivneži in nekaj slovenskimi podjetji. Vplivnostni marketing in družbena omrežja so postali del našega vsakdana in igrajo zelo pomembno vlogo v svetu oglaševanja. Diplomsko delo bo pomembno prispevalo k razumevanju, kako vplivnostni marketing in družbena omrežja spreminjajo pristop podjetij k oglaševanju ter kako ta sodelovanja vplivajo na prepoznavnost in uspeh tako podjetij kot vplivnežev.In this thesis, we discussed the role of advertising through social media and influencers, who are commonly referred to as influencers. In the theoretical part, we focused on the concept of marketing communication, which includes advertising through social media and with the help of online influencers. Influencer marketing has become a part of our lives, and influencers play an important role in the business world. Today, it is hard to imagine life without social media, as we interact with them daily. The thesis examines the impact of advertising through social media and with the help of influencers in the modern business environment. We focused on analyzing the effects that the use of influencers and social media has on brand perception and consumer purchasing decisions. The research investigates key aspects of marketing communication, such as selecting specific target groups, choosing influencers, and adapting content to social media platforms that are most popular in the Slovenian market. In the first part, we first addressed the theoretical foundations, introducing the concepts of digital marketing and influencer marketing. Social media platforms and their influence on business operations are presented. The facts will be summarized through interviews with several online influencers and some Slovenian companies. Influencer marketing and social media have become a part of our daily lives and play a very important role in the world of advertising. This thesis will significantly contribute to the understanding of how influencer marketing and social media are changing companies\u27 approach to advertising and how these collaborations impact the recognition and success of both companies and influencers

Lastna raba je ključnega pomena za zagotavljanje stabilnosti delovanja energetskega objekta. Vsak energetski objekt ima svoje specifične sisteme lastne rabe glede na vir napajanja.
Sistem lastne rabe mora biti načrtovan tako, da ne vpliva na nihanja v energetskem sistemu. Vira napajanja, tako glavni kot pomožni, morata biti načrtovana tako, da zagotavljata zanesljivo delovanje.Self-use is crucial for ensuring stability in the workings of any electric object. Motivating Employees to Undergo Further Training Within the Company X
V diplomskem delu smo obravnavali in raziskovali motivacijo za izobraževanje zaposlenih v podjetju X, ki je eden največjih trgovcev z urami in modnim nakitom v regiji. Ker podjetje X deluje v panogi, kjer se povpraševanje in ponudba dnevno spreminjata ter je obenem konkurenca zelo močna, je treba zaposlene ustrezno izobraževati za doseganje boljših poslovnih rezultatov.
Namen diplomskega dela je bil ugotoviti, kaj najbolj motivira ali ovira zaposlene pri izobraževanju ter na katerih področjih in kdaj bi si želeli izobraževanja. Za željo po dodatnem izobraževanju sta pri posamezniku ključna spodbudna motivacija in jasen razlog za udeležbo.
Diplomsko delo zajema teoretično opredelitev motivacije, izobraževanja in obstoječih motivacijskih teorij. V nadaljevanju sledijo predstavitev podjetja X ter izvedba raziskave in diskusija rezultatov. V teoretičnem delu smo uporabili deskriptivno metodo in metodo kompilacije, medtem ko smo v empiričnem delu s pomočjo anketnega vprašalnika proučevali stanje v podjetju X. Pridobljene rezultate smo nato prikazali v tabelah in grafih z uporabo različnih statističnih metod.
Ob koncu diplomskega dela smo odgovorili na raziskovalna vprašanja. Ugotovili smo, da zaposlene za dodatno izobraževanje najbolj motivirata osebno zadovoljstvo in prispevek k lastnemu razvoju. Največjo oviro predstavlja preobremenjenost. Zaposleni bi si želeli pridobiti največ znanja na področju tujih jezikov in komunikacijskih veščin. Najraje bi se izobraževali v službenem času, v obliki praktičnih delavnic, predavanj in skupinskih izobraževanj.
Podatki bodo podjetju X v pomoč pri odločitvi, na katera izobraževanja naj se osredotoči in kdaj naj jih začne izvajati. Prav tako bomo pridobili informacije o tem, katera področja in oblike zaposleni najbolj potrebujejo.In this diploma thesis, we discussed and researched the motivation for educating employees of Company X, one of the largest retailers of watches and fashion jewelry in the region. Since Company X operates in an industry where demand and supply change daily, and competition is very strong, it is necessary to properly educate employees to achieve better business results.
The purpose of the diploma thesis was to identify what most motivates or hinders employees in pursuing education, as well as to determine in which areas and when they would like to receive training. An individual\u27s desire for additional education is key to stimulating motivation and provides a clear reason for participation.
This diploma thesis covers the theoretical definitions of motivation, education, and existing motivational theories. This is followed by a presentation of Company X, as well as the implementation of the research and a discussion of the results. In the theoretical part, we used the descriptive and compilation methods, while in the empirical part, we studied the situation in Company X with the help of a questionnaire.
At the end of the diploma thesis, we answered the research questions. We found that employees are most motivated by personal satisfaction and their contribution to their own development. The biggest obstacle to their participation in education is workload. Employees expressed a desire to acquire the most knowledge in the fields of foreign languages and communication skills. They would prefer to be educated during work hours, in the form of practical workshops, lectures, and group training sessions.
The data will help Company X decide which training programs to prioritize and when to start implementing them. It will also provide information on the areas and structures employees need the most
