Effects of Glancing at a Smartphone in a Conversational Situation on Interpersonal Emotion and Cognition: A Vignette Experiment

The effects of glancing at a smartphone placed on a table in a conversational situation with a friend on interpersonal emotion and cognition were examined in a vignette experiment. Participants were 93 college students (16 males and 77 females). The experimental conditions were a "use group" in which one person used a smartphone during a conversation between two friends, a "glancing group" in which one person glanced at the smartphone on the table, and a "conversation group" in which both put their smartphones away in their bags and concentrated on the conversation. The results showed that the use and glancing groups had higher scores for discomfort, sadness, and anger, and lower scores for familiarity, trust, and goodwill, compared to the conversation group. However, no significant differences were found between the use and glancing groups. These results indicate that, as much as smartphone use, glancing generates negative emotions and perceptions.departmental bulletin pape

A study on live commerce by local local TV stations -Issues from the perspective of changes in regional information dissemination and video consumption-

The environment surrounding local terrestial stations is undergoing changes one after another. Changes are occurring in the way video content is viewed and in the distribution environment, such as the start of distribution seivices by key stations. As distribution progresses, the search for ”things that only local stations can do” has begun. An important issue is whether it is possible to develop promotion methods that can be continued by small and medium-sized businesses in the region, where it has been difficult to advertise in commercials, and to create mechanisms for continued efforts. One approach that is attracting attention is the use of live commerce. Locals that already have "means for information sharing" Why does the TV station need to tackle live commerce? The Relationship between College Students' Sense of Efficacy in Interacting with Children and their Play Preference

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the female college students' sense of efficacy in interacting with preschool children and the play preference. Female college students responded to a questionnaire asking about the sense of efficacy in interacting with preschool children and the kind of play when they play with children. The plays were consisted of two types ; typical play and atypical play. Two types of studies were conducted: one method of choosing play pairs and the other method of evaluating play independently. The results showed that those with a high sense of efficacy in engaging with children showed a preference for atypical play compared to those with a low sense of efficacy. Similar results were obtained in both studies. It is suggested that the degree of efficacy in engaging with children influences their choice of play.departmental bulletin pape

A study on the use of communication strategies in municipal migration support

近年、人口減少が地域に与える影響を踏まえ、移住の促進に積極的に取り組む市町村が増加している。多様な移住支援金等を提供する市町村も存在し、市町村間の競争が激しくなっている。また、移住検討者が移住支援に取り組んでいる市町村を認知し、移住・定住に至るまでの過程は多様化・複雑化しており、この点も市町村による移住支援を難しくしている要因の一つといえる。一方で、移住支援において高い成果をあげている市町村にはある特徴が見受けられる。その特徴とは、移住検討者が移住の候補地を認知し、複数の移住候補地の情報を収集・比較した後、移住・定住に至るまでの流れを紐解き、移住検討者の視点・動線を踏まえたコミュニケーションを行っている点である。この取り組みは、企業によるコミュニケーション戦略の策定・実行プロセスに類似している。コミュニケーション戦略とは、顧客による継続購入や他者への推奨等を促すために、企業が顧客との接点や提供する情報・施策を設計することである。コミュニケーション戦略は、企業が顧客との関係性を強化し、経営基盤を安定化させるために重要なものとなる。人口増加により、地域の基盤を安定化させる必要性に迫られている市町村にとってもコミュニケーション戦略は重要だと考えられる。本論文では、豊後高田市の移住支援の取り組みを交えながら、市町村におけるコミュニケーション戦略の重要性などを明らかにすることを目的とする。departmental bulletin pape

Study on marker design on disaster trace map

We designed marker points to be displayed on a map based on geological excavations (disaster trace map) developed by the Nara National Research Institute for Cultural Properties. In the production process, we tried to improve the identification and visibility of the marker points based on a preliminary study on their legibility. Whether this design development can contribute to geological and disaster prevention research is a subject for further study.departmental bulletin pape
