A Study of Traditional Form "Shimenawa" (VI) : In Chubu and Tokai Area

Abstract

P(論文)The final goal of this report is to make a study of "Shimenawa" which is the traditional form and is handed down to the people in Gifu prefecture, Aichi prefecture, Nagano prefecture and Shizuoka prefecture. In this report "Shimenawa" was made an investigation and was made an analysis from the point of view of design studies. Samples were collected in these prefectures from 1983 to 1985. The classificafion system made use of the classification system which was based on folklore. In these prefectures the aspectual beauty of "Shimenawa" is various. This point is similar to the characteristic of other areas. In Aichi prefecture and Gifu prefecture major forms of "Shimenawa" are Wajime and Gobojime. In Nagano prefecture it is Gobojime. In Shizuoka prefecture it is Wajime
