Sistema de ensino de algoritmos para surdos
A forma mais comumente utilizada para a comunicação entre as pessoas é a língua falada. Porém, os surdos utilizam a língua de sinais para sua comunicação. Desta forma, tem-se como objetivo desenvolver um sistema, que seja próprio para o ensino de algoritmos aos surdos, onde os mesmos possam criar seus próprios programas e entender a lógica de programação. A disciplina de algoritmos exige do aluno um raciocínio lógico e apurado acerca dos conceitos que norteiam sua aprendizagem. E para os surdos torna- se, muitas vezes, complicado o entendimento de todas as regras para a construção de programas. Por isso, é preciso criar uma outra forma de fazer com que os surdos compreendam a estrutura de um algoritm

Este artigo apresenta o AvU-TvD, um instrumento destinado para usuários especialistas para auxiliar no processo de avaliação de usabilidade de aplicações interativas para a TV digital. O instrumento agrupa de maneira estruturada critérios relevantes para o processo de avaliação e dispõem de um conjunto de recomendações que podem ser utilizadas, caso necessário, em possíveis ajustes na interface avaliad
Classificação de Cenários Acústicos em Dispositivos Auditivos: Uma Revisão Sistemática da Literatura sobre Desafios, Avanços e Perspectivas
ABSTRACTAcoustic Scene Classification (ASC) is an area of growing relevance,with applications ranging from assistive devices, such as hearingaids, to advanced wearable technologies (hearables). This paperpresents a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) that analyzes themain adaptive and machine learning-based methods used in ASC,with a focus on hearing devices. The challenges related to computationalresource limitations, energy consumption and real-timeoperation, especially in dynamic environments, are discussed. Thereview highlights recent advances, such as the use of generativeprobabilistic models and convolutional neural networks, as well ashybrid approaches that combine cloud computing and edge computingfor greater efficiency. The results show that, despite significantprogress, there are still important technical barriers, such as theneed for more efficient, customizable and robust algorithms to operatein real conditions. This study contributes by identifying gapsin the literature and suggesting future directions to improve theintegration of ASC in hearing devices
Synthetic Images Impact in Parking Spot Classification using Neural Networks
AbstractUrban growth and the increasing number of vehicles have intensifiedthe demand for efficient parking management solutions. In thiscontext, machine learning-based image monitoring systems havegained prominence due to their low cost and ease of installationcompared to traditional methods, such as physical sensors. Thesesystems achieve an average accuracy of 95% in cross-validationscenarios using well-known datasets like PKLot and CNRPark-EXT.However, despite the availability of extensive datasets, challengesremain regarding the accessibility and diversity of training data.This is especially critical when aiming to improve the accuracy ofgeneralist models or specialize them for specific scenarios, whereeach application requires a substantial effort to collect, segment, andlabel new images for optimal performance. This study proposes theuse of synthetic images, generated with the Unity 5 graphics engineand the Unity Perception package, to complement or replace realdata in training parking classification models. A synthetic imagegeneration protocol was developed to reduce costs compared to thecollection, segmentation, and labeling of real images. The imagesgenerated through this protocol are referred to as low-fidelity dueto their lower quality and reduced capacity to simulate specific environments.Using MobileNetV3 and transfer learning, experimentswere conducted in three scenarios: total replacement of real data,supplementation of diverse datasets, and specialization for specificscenarios. The results showed that synthetic images could improvemodel generalization by up to 2% in datasets with limited real data(e.g., CNRPark-EXT). However, synthetic images alone could notfully replace real data due to their limited fidelity in replicatingreal-world conditions, reinforcing the need for combinations withreal data or more realistic synthetic data for better results
Gamificando e Explorando as Soft Skills em um Projeto de Ensino, Pesquisa, Extensão e Desenvolvimento: Análise das Percepções dos Estudantes Membros
ABSTRACTThe computer professional’s resume goes beyond technical skillsto stay active. Therefore, the project LearningLab, which coversseveral sub-areas of computing, investigates which soft skills weredeveloped and how they will be improved with gamification. Themethodology includes: (i) Literature review; (ii) Application of questionnaire;(iii) Preliminary analysis of results; (iv) Creation of agamified system; and (v) Collection and analysis of data from thegamified system. Preliminary data, collected quantitatively via anonline questionnaire, identified the main soft skills by sector andthose most desired by members. Gamification is expected to promotethe exciting development of these skills

Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) play a crucial role in developing and implementing these programs, actively involving the local community. These efforts aim to protect biodiversity, improve the quality of life for communities, and enhance the resilience of port operations to environmental changes. Collectively, these initiatives represent a commitment to sustainability and socio-environmental responsibility, aiming to ensure a more sustainable future for the region and its future generations.Os programas ambientais nas áreas portuárias visam enfrentar os desafios ambientais resultantes das operações portuárias. Através de iniciativas como monitoramento ambiental, gestão de resíduos, recuperação de áreas degradadas, educação ambiental, engajamento comunitário e inovação tecnológica, busca-se mitigar os impactos ambientais e promover a sustentabilidade. As Iniciativas de Organização da Sociedade (IOS) desempenham um papel crucial no desenvolvimento e implementação desses programas, envolvendo ativamente a comunidade local. Essas ações visam proteger a biodiversidade, melhorar a qualidade de vida das comunidades e fortalecer a resiliência das operações portuárias frente às mudanças ambientais. Automated Extraction of Body Measurements Using Computer Vision
AbstractExtracting body measurements manually is a time-consuming andchallenging process that can be impractical without the appropriatetools. This paper proposes a method to obtain body measurements,which can then be used in applications such as finding the perfectclothing fit. By leveraging computer vision, the developed systemcalculates body measurements from a photo submitted by the user,along with their height. Utilizing essential libraries and detaileddigital image processing techniques, we successfully performed thecalculations to return the user’s body measurements. Test resultsdemonstrate that the model achieves high accuracy, underscoringthe efficiency of this approach and offering a swift alternative forobtaining body measurements. The developed method can be employedin numerous other applications that require precise bodymeasurements

AbstractThis report presents the actions promoted by the Meninas DigitaisUTFPR-CP extension project. The project, created within theFederal Technological University of Paraná, Cornélio Procópio Campus,aims to increase the participation of girls in computing andSTEM, encouraging and helping elementary and high school girlsfrom public schools in the cities of Cornélio Procópio and the surroundingarea, in the interior of Paraná, to conquer their spacein these areas. To this end, the project promotes actions such asprogramming workshops, mentoring for the Technovation Girlsglobal competition, and discussion groups, including in these actionsthe resolution of challenges of the Sustainable DevelopmentGoals (SDGs)
Decodificação de Atenção Auditiva com Ear-EEG: Uma Revisão Sistemática da Literatura
ABSTRACTEar-EEG technology has emerged as a promising solution for discreetand comfortable brain monitoring, with potential applicationsin areas such as auditory attention decoding (AAD), brain-computerinterfaces, and smart assistive devices. This work presents a systematicliterature review focused on the application of ear-EEG forauditory attention detection, investigating methods and technologiesdeveloped. In addition, we have discussed the main technicallimitations and gaps in the literature, highlighting the challengesassociated with accurate AAD. The results indicate a growing interestin the area, so future research should focus on standardizingpreprocessing techniques and exploring low-cost, efficient devicesand algorithms for signal acquisition and analysis
Robótica Artística e Sustentável: Fortalecendo a Participação Feminina na Tecnologia
ABSTRACTEste trabalho relata a participação de três alunas do curso técnico integrado em Informática ao Ensino Médio, em um projeto de Robótica Aplicada. As alunas competiram na fase estadual da Olimpíada Brasileira de Robótica em 2024, na modalidade artística, e avançaram para a etapa nacional. O principal objetivo do projeto foi desenvolver robôs sustentáveis por meio da reutilização criativa de materiais recicláveis e componentes eletrônicos, visando reduzir os impactos ambientais associados ao descarte inadequado desses itens. A iniciativa adotou a metodologia de aprendizado baseado em projetos, que promoveu o desenvolvimento de habilidades práticas em eletrônica e programação. Além de fomentar a sustentabilidade, o projeto também incentivou a participação feminina nas inovações tecnológicas. Como resultado, as alunas não apenas aprimoraram suas habilidades técnicas e criativas, mas também conquistaram o primeiro lugar na etapa estadual da OBR.
