After a brief review of the representation of situations of sexual harassment and violence in early modern Spanish theatre, from the second half of the 16th century to Lope de Vega and the playwrights of his generation, we study the ways in which this tragic motif appears in Calderón’s production. Among his works, some titles stand out that differ significantly from the dramatic treatment that the previous generation had given to abduction and sexual violence. Already in El alcalde de Zalamea (1636) the exceptional nature of the conflict is reduced, while maintaining a substantial difference in rank between victim and rapist. In the later No hay cosa como callar (1638) and El pintor de su deshonra (1644-1646) victim and rapist belong, for the first time, to the same social class, and the action is set in the present. Sexual violence is thus stripped of any meaning other than that of a private crime which, although justified by passion, is nothing more than the most radical negation of the code of courtly love
The Moroccan banking system and FinTech deployment: an overview of the literature
This study provides an in-depth analysis of the Moroccan financial system by examining key banking institutions, their characteristics, and their services. Under King Mohammed VI’s leadership, Morocco has emerged as one of the most financially advanced Mediterranean countries and the most developed in the Maghreb. Its openness in tourism and finance has facilitated the growth of both conventional and Islamic banking sectors. Using a qualitative methodology, this research follows a structured approach. First, a literature review examines academic and regulatory perspectives on Morocco’s financial system. Then, we analyze Moroccan banks by classifying them as commercial or business institutions and distinguishing between local and foreign financial entities. The study categorizes services into retail, corporate, and digital (FinTech), focusingon Sharia-compliant banking and its customer offerings. Furthermore, it assesses the evolution of digital financial services among Moroccan banking groups and foreign-owned banks. A unique aspect of this research, coauthored by management scholars and Arab studies experts, is its examination of how Moroccan banks communicate with customers, including language use and segmentation based on Sharia compliance. The findings will highlight Morocco’s banking strengths and potential improvements that could inspire financial strategies in Italy and other European countries with significant Muslim communities. Additionally, this study identifies best practices for expanding Sharia-compliant services to the hundreds of thousands of Muslim immigrants from Morocco and the broader Maghreb regio
“Playing poop”: an interesting case of bird dropping masquerade in leafmining Buprestidae (Agrilinae, Tracheini)
The present contribution discusses the possible defensive camouflage strategy adopted by Leiopleura venustula (Gory, 1841), a South American leafmining buprestid beetle (Buprestidae, Agrilinae, Tracheini). This species presents a coloration pattern resembling older dry bird droppings and displays the capability to secrete a large amount of highly convoluted wax filaments on its dorsum. These filaments, specifically secreted by a series of pores present in the rough areas of pronotum and elytra, apparently improve the quality of the camouflage mimicking the (white) uric acid commonly found in bird faeces. SEM images of distribution of pores and wax filaments are presented
School Communities And Educational Evaluation: Reflections, Experiences, Perspectives
The contribution aims to return the perspective of school communities – principals, teachers, students, families, and educational staff – in relation to the reflection made on the issues of instructional design and assessment from an educational perspective. In particular, it is intended to re-flect on design and assessment practices that can support students’ awareness of the pathways that involve them. This intentionality involves reflection on emerging needs within the school and perceived crises in the spaces of relationships between various actors, starting with social actors’ perceptions of their own roles. How to construct useful in-itinere feedback to guide learning, that is, characterized by timeliness, clarity and participation, coherence and future orientation? How do we propose activities that do not fuel a climate of competition among students? We draw attention to emerging obstacles and difficulties, but also to innovative ex-periences in design, relational, instructional and evaluative choices, with reference also to self- and peer-assessment experiences

Wine and tourism: An analysis of synergies in Italy
Wine is gaining increasing importance in the modern tourism industry. The aim of this paper is to unpack the relations between engaging agritourism practices and wine farming specialisation in Italy, with special emphasis on socio-economic sustainability performances. The analysis is conducted at the farm level using Italian Farm Accountancy Data Network (FADN) data over the 2017–2021 period and exploiting a Propensity Score Matching approach. Results show that wine farms are more likely to pursue agritourism activities than other farms, with high-quality wine producers offering a more diverse tourism option. Wine tourism affects socio-economic sustainability, but with differences noted between high-quality and conventional producers. Implications arise for policy makers and practitioners building local development strategies and finding inroads to fostering sustainable tourism
The Digital Twin Concept in Power Electronics for Parameters Identification and Health Monitoring
The increasing integration of power electronic converters in modern power systems, such as renewable energy generation and electric vehicles, highlights the critical need for reliable operation and efficient maintenance strategies. In this scenario, the idea of monitoring the main components constituting a power electronic converter in order to evaluate their health status started to arise. This thesis focuses on developing a robust methodology for real-time parameter identification in an indirect way to not introduce additional hardware in the physical asset. To meet this aim, the digital twin technology has been investigated. The proposed approach combines digital twin models with advanced optimization algorithms to estimate key parameters such as capacitance, inductance, and switches on-state resistance that are indicative of the operational health of the converter's components. By integrating real-time sensor data, the digital twin is dynamically updated, enabling continuous monitoring and, therefore, a suitable predictive maintenance strategy. This research activity has begun by investigating topics already widely addressed in the literature, such as digital twins of DC-DC converters. In this way, the methodology has been acquired and drawbacks and difficulties have been found. Subsequently, this knowledge has been transferred to converter topologies less present in the literature regarding the parameters’ identification through the digital twin method, such as three-phase AC-DC converters. In this context, a study of the digital model, the objective function and a comparison of the best optimization algorithms to realize the digital twin of a three-phase AC-DC converter are presented. The experimental results are shown to validate the investigated method. Furthermore, a discussion is carried out relating to the difficulties and limitations of the proposed method. Finally, the development of a recurrent neural network for the estimation of the degradation parameters of a power electronic converter is proposed. Comparing the results obtained with the latter method to those obtained with the digital twin technique, the advantages from the point of view of accuracy are immediately clear. For this reason, a study regarding the feasibility and real-time applicability of complex algorithms, such as neural networks on simple digital signal processors, is then carried out in this work. Hence, the research aims to bridge the gap between parameter identification performed with the digital twin technique and neural networks for more complex conversion systems, such as three-phase converters. Moreover, this thesis contributes to enhance neural network applicability for the identification of the deterioration parameters in power electronic converters
