Book Review on Zhuangzi: The Complete Writings

    Get PDF
This brief article is a review of Zhuangzi: The Complete Writings, which was published in March of the last year by Hackett Publishing. Subsequent to a concise explanation about the contextual circumstances in which the new and full translation of the ancient Chinese text ought to be perused, I, in order to give an instance of its possibility, pointed out that one of its famous passages could be interpreted as an allegorical vignette that symbolically but straightforwardly communicates the same truth which contemporary French philosopher Quentin Meillassoux has proved, i.e., that the primordial principle framing the whole world is contingency

Monograph Review of Claude Mangion’s “On Quentin Meillassoux and the Problem of Evil”

This short article is a review of Claude Mangion’s “On Quentin Meillassoux and the Problem of Evil”, which is a scholarly monograph published in the journal Open Theology in February 2020. After providing a brief account clarifying the current state of the study of Meillassoux’s philosophy, I explained, first, that the essay succeeded in reorganizing the ethical arguments the French philosopher had piecemeal and intermittently presented into a coherent discourse, second, that the Maltese scholar offered his own unique insight by pointing to a positive and practicable quality of Meillassoux’s enterprise, and, third, that the text was well worth reading

The Tensions Between Scientific Theories and Reality as a Knowledge Mechanism. Physics may be locked in the ivory tower of theories and must return to nature.

In this paper the relation of scientific theories to reality, as a tension for achieving the knowledge of nature, will be elaborated. The focus is on physics, with emphasis on gravitation. Despite continuous successes, it is gravitation that leaves science ununified in explaining the macro- and microcosm. The paper will list the core efforts toward the unification. The main argument raised is about the assumption that perhaps the path being followed is not right. There is no linear direction in science, no predetermined way of development. It should be remembered that Albert Einstein, although not a member of the scientific community of physicists and who did a simple administrative job, was the one who rejected the famous Newtonian theory and caused a revolution in physics. Maybe some brilliant scientist is needed to get physics out of this state and unify it. This will bring about a new revolution in physics. As well in the knowing of reality

Western Balkans and the Internal Integration Processes

With the European flag, Germany is making great efforts to effect the Western Balkans\u27 internal integration, but obviously the resistance from the countries of the region is very strong. Finally, the Americans are preparing to convince Western Balkan leaders, with the "stick and carrot", that their mutual integration in the region is not only beneficial for regional economic development but also for preserving world peace. Creating an economic or customs union would have multiple positive effects. The goal is to open a market of about twenty million people, which would vividly revive industry, commerce, agriculture, livestock, tourism, and so on. It would also greatly increase foreign investment. Above all, nations will have to come together in order to boost the region\u27s economic development, as well as regional peace and stability. Given the real conditions in the region, which are specific by their nature, the key questions arise - to what extent is this possible, what are the means and ways of achieving this, and in what dynamics is it likely to occur? To be able to give an appropriate answer to this complexity, we have primarily used the comparative analysis method, but also the method of critical review by several authors
