Process Framework for Subscriber Management and Retention in Nigerian Telecommunication Industry
in the global telecommunication industry. Hence, a dominant approach for subscriber
management and retention is churn control, since it is cheaper to retain an existing
subscriber than acquiring a new one. Predictive modeling employs the use of data mining
techniques to identify patterns and provide a result that a group of subscribers are likely to
churn in the near future. However, the effectiveness of subscriber retention strategy in an
organization can be further boosted if the reason for churn and the timing of churn can also
be predicted.
In this paper, we propose a data mining process framework that can be used to predict
churn, determine when a subscriber is likely to churn, provides the reason why a subscriber
may churn, and recommend appropriate intervention strategy for customer retention using
a combination of statistical and machine learning techniques. This experiment is carried
out using data from a major telecom operator in Nigeria

This research was conducted to find out what motives subscribers get when listening to Trio Kurnia's podcast content, where Trio Kurnia's own podcast content is ranked number 1 in Noice's weekly podcast. Motive itself is something that can cause an individual to carry out a certain activity. Basically, a motive is an encouragement to achieve a goal or satisfaction. This motif can be an encouragement for individuals to consume or search for content in the Noice application, especially Trio Kurnia podcast content. In this study, researchers used the Uses and Gratification theory with four indicators taken from Gary and Paul's journal, namely entertainment and relaxation, interpersonal relationships, seeking information, friendship.
The method used in this research is a survey, with a descriptive research type and a quantitative approach using validity tests, reliability tests, descriptive tests. The results of this study also show that the highest motives are entertainment and relaxation, interpersonal relationships, seeking information, friendship. Apart from that, the uses and gratifications theory still proves relevant and useful in explaining how and why listeners choose and use certain media to fulfill their personal needs and desires
Subscriber churn in the Australian ISP market
Rapid growth in Internet use, combined with easy market entry by Internet service providers (ISPs), has resulted in a highly competitive supply of Internet services. Australian
ISPs range in size from a few large national operators to niche ISPs focused on specialised service. With many ISPs currently not profitable, subscriber retention is an important aspect of survival. This study develops a model which relates the probability of subscriber churn to
various service attributes and subscriber characteristics. Estimation results show that churn probability is positively associated with monthly ISP expenditure, but inversely related to household income. Pricing also matters with subscribers preferring ISPs which offer flat-rate pricing arrangements.
Mobile qualified electronic signatures for secure mobile brokerage
Despite a legal framework being in place for several years, the market share of qualified electronic signatures is disappointingly low. Mobile Signatures provide a new and promising opportunity for the deployment of an infrastructure for qualified electronic signatures. We that SIM-based signatures are the most secure and convenient solution. However, using the SIM-card as a secure signature creation device (SSCD) raises new challenges, because it would contain the user’s private key as well as the subscriber identification. Combining both functions in one card raises the question who will have the control over the keys and certificates. We propose a protocol called Certification on Demand (COD) that separates certification services from subscriber identification information and allows consumers to choose their appropriate certification services and service providers based on their needs. This infrastructure could be used to enable secure mobile brokerage services that can ommit the necessity of TAN lists and therefore allow a better integration of information and transaction services

An innovative price plan monitoring and advisory system: A case study of mobile telecom service in Thailand
An innovative price plan monitoring and advisory system simulates subscriber usage consumption for offering suitable price plan. The aim of this paper is to develop the decision support system by using Statistical Process Control (SPC) to identify subscriber usage behavior and provide critical visibility into subscriber consumption to detect their inappropriate usage especially in exceeding usage. To explore subscriber usage behavior, a forecasting model and a regression is employed to identify related factors and predictive usage model. The innovative price plan monitoring and advisory system has been verified and validated with one of the largest telecommunication company in Thailand. Using decision support system with effective control chart and real subscriber behavior pattern help mobile network operator grow their revenues and profits by offering an appropriate price plan as well as improve subscriber experience with more flexible choice to meet their individual usage consumption needs
