Genetic Algorithm Modeling with GPU Parallel Computing Technology
We present a multi-purpose genetic algorithm, designed and implemented with
GPGPU / CUDA parallel computing technology. The model was derived from a
multi-core CPU serial implementation, named GAME, already scientifically
successfully tested and validated on astrophysical massive data classification
problems, through a web application resource (DAMEWARE), specialized in data
mining based on Machine Learning paradigms. Since genetic algorithms are
inherently parallel, the GPGPU computing paradigm has provided an exploit of
the internal training features of the model, permitting a strong optimization
in terms of processing performances and scalability.Comment: 11 pages, 2 figures, refereed proceedings; Neural Nets and

Machine learning based data mining for Milky Way filamentary structures reconstruction
We present an innovative method called FilExSeC (Filaments Extraction,
Selection and Classification), a data mining tool developed to investigate the
possibility to refine and optimize the shape reconstruction of filamentary
structures detected with a consolidated method based on the flux derivative
analysis, through the column-density maps computed from Herschel infrared
Galactic Plane Survey (Hi-GAL) observations of the Galactic plane. The present
methodology is based on a feature extraction module followed by a machine
learning model (Random Forest) dedicated to select features and to classify the
pixels of the input images. From tests on both simulations and real
observations the method appears reliable and robust with respect to the
variability of shape and distribution of filaments. In the cases of highly
defined filament structures, the presented method is able to bridge the gaps
among the detected fragments, thus improving their shape reconstruction. From a
preliminary "a posteriori" analysis of derived filament physical parameters,
the method appears potentially able to add a sufficient contribution to
complete and refine the filament reconstruction.Comment: Proceeding of WIRN 2015 Conference, May 20-22, Vietri sul Mare,

The Smart Innovation in Industrial Data Acquisition System Using IOT
Now a day Internet of Things is suddenly increasing technology. IOT is the network of physical object or things embedded with software sensors, electronics and network connectivity. IOT is used to collect information and exchange data. In this paper, we are developing a system which will automatically monitor the industrial applications. IOT has given a powerful way to build industrial system by using wireless devices, and sensors. IOT concept is to monitor and control the industry. In phase I the hard ware was designed successfully using IOT. The input from sensor and data output can be displayed in the LCD (16*2).microcontroller (PIC16F887) which is used to collect data from sensors and displayed in LCD. The displayed data can be seen by server using IOT. The performances are verified experimentally using IOT. In Phase II the data from the server can be monitor through personal computer .The industrial data can be viewed through URL
Promising Techniques of Automotive Engine Lubrication Oil Monitoring System – A Critical Review towards Enhancement
Engine lubricant plays a significant role in reducing internal friction between the piston and shear of moving mechanical parts to further improve the engine performance and efficiency. Rapid developments of engine oil monitoring systems has taken place to determine the engine lubricant degradation level in reducing unnecessary engine power loss and maintenance cost. This paper critically reviews the invention and an innovation pertaining to the subject before a smart innovation is developed in near future
Journal Comment: Mine Planning and Equipment Selection (MPES 2015).
Journal comment on the 23rd International Symposium on Mine Planning and Equipment Selection (MPES 2015).Extract from Comment:
The Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM) hosted the 23rd
International Symposium on Mine Planning and Equipment Selection (MPES 2015) at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg from 9 to 11 November 2015. This was the first time that South Africa has hosted the MPES in its 25-year history. This conference’s theme was ‘Smart Innovation in Mining’ in order to recognize technological innovations and new ideas that are required to prepare the industry for the mine of the future.MvdH201
Model of Multi-branch Trees for Efficient Resource Allocation
Although exploring the principles of resource allocation is still important in many fields, little is known about appropriate methods for optimal resource allocation thus far. This is because we should consider many issues including opposing interests between many types of stakeholders. Here, we develop a new allocation method to resolve budget conflicts. To do so, we consider two points—minimizing assessment costs and satisfying allocational efficiency. In our method, an evaluator's assessment is restricted to one's own projects in one's own department, and both an executive's and mid-level executives' assessments are also restricted to each representative project in each branch or department they manage. At the same time, we develop a calculation method to integrate such assessments by using a multi-branch tree structure, where a set of leaf nodes represents projects and a set of non-leaf nodes represents either directors or executives. Our method is incentive-compatible because no director has any incentive to make fallacious assessments
A tour about Isaac Newton's life
Here we propose a tour about the life of Isaac Newton, using a georeferenced
method, based on the free satellite maps. Our tour is modelled on the time-line
of the great scientist's life, as an ancient "itinerarium" was modelled on the
Roman roads, providing a listing of places and intervening distances, sometimes
with short description or symbols concerning the places. KML language and
Google Earth, with its Street View and 3D images are powerful tools to create
this virtual tour.Comment: Georeferencing, Satellite Maps, KML, XML, Acme Mapper, History of
