    CITRA PEREMPUAN ASMAT DALAM ROMAN NAMAKU TEWERAUT KARYA ANI SEKARNINGSIH: KAJIAN SASTRA FEMINIS

    ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana citra perempuan suku Asmat dalam Roman Namaku Teweraut karya Ani Sekarningsih. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan sastra feminis, sehingga  jenis data yang diambil pun bersifat kualitatif yaitu berupa ujaran, pernyataan, dan dialog yang mendeskripsikan citra perempuan dalam Roman Namaku Teweraut karya Ani Sekarningsih. Prosedur penelitian meliputi mengumpulkan, mereduksi, menyajikan, menafsirkan, dan menyimpulkan data.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa; (1) Bentuk ketidakadilan gender yang muncul dalam cerita adalah marginalisasi kaum perempuan  akibat kungkungan adat dan budaya, stereotip, dan subordinasi terhadap kaum perempuan; (2) citra perempuan suku Asmat dalam Novel Namaku Teweraut karya Ani Sekarningsih digambarkan sebagai perempuan yang dijadikan objek seksual dan alat pemuas bagi laki-laki; perempuan penggoda; perempuan tertinggal; perempuan sebagai warga kelas dua; perempuan tidak bebas memeroleh pendidikan; perempuan penurut dan mudah ditakhlukkan; perempuan pengurus domestik semata; dan perempuan  tersubordinasi. Pengungkapan citra perempuan suku Asmat dalam roman Namaku Teweraut akan memberikan informasi dan pencerahan bagi pembaca untuk lebih memperhatikan saudara kita di suku Asmat – Papua sana yang jauh dari peradaban, sehingga muncul ide dan gagasan untuk menyejahterakan mereka.     ABSTRACT This study explores teacher identity among four newcomer teachers who are taking their master degree in English education. Specifically, it engages a holistic perspective to research the connection between personal and professional life experiences that shaped their teacher identity. This study tries to look into to what extent the teacher identity is constructed during English education master program. The researcher gathered reflection writing from the participants about their life stories, journey, and their motivation of continuing study. Their institution and formal courses are not the only aspect that could construct their identity. Work experiences and others’ sharing stories also give the big influence on their teacher identity.     Korean- English Code Mixing and Code Switching Of New Jeans’s Song

    This paper reviewed code-mixing and code-switching along with the worldwide recognition of K-Pop songs by analyzing the English usage of "Hype Boy" and "OMG" by New Jeans, a fourth-generation K-Pop group. All songs were examined using Muysken's (2000) code-mixing theory, Stockwell's (2007) code-switching theory, and Fernandez-Martinez et al.'s (2014) and Kwon's (2019) comment analysis. The results revealed that the majority of code-mixing in "Hype Boy" was insertion and the majority of code-mixing in "OMG" was alternation, but there was no congruent lexicalization found in the two songs. However, the majority of code switches in "Hype Boy" were inter-sentential, whereas "OMG" was intra-sentential, and two tag-switching data were found. Aside from that, based on audience responses in the comment section, the audience responses showed up that they were impacted by the singers' word pronunciation errors, however, a lot were also impressed with their easy-to-listen-to songs. The study finds that the accurate pronunciation and the new English language switching function seem to have played a significant role in the success of "Hype Boy" and "OMG" among bilingual audiences

    The purpose of this study is to describe the use of various familiar languages ​​in code switching events in the Putri 'Aisyiyah Dau Orphanage. This research is a qualitative research. The approach used in this research is a descriptive approach. The source of the research data is in the form of conversations between students and students, students with caregivers, and caregivers with caregivers in private audio recordings in the Putri 'Aisyiyah Dau Orphanage. The data in this study are excerpts from conversations between students and students, students with caregivers, and caregivers with caregivers that contain variations of familiar language and code switching models.     PELESAPAN UNSUR KALIMAT PADA JUDUL BERITA KORAN SOLOPOS EDISI SEPTEMBER 2022

    This research is qualitative research with a discourse analysis approach. The purpose of this study is to describe the elements of sentences contained in news headlines in newspapers. The research data used in the form of written text containing the omission of sentence elements. The source of the research data was obtained through the September 2022 edition of the SOLOPOS newspaper. The data was collected by means of a documentation study using reading and note-taking techniques. This research uses analysis technique of agih and insertion. The results showed that the omission of sentence elements contained in the news title of the September 2022 edition of the SOLOPOS newspaper occurred in two elements, namely the omission of the subject and the verb. The process of removing the title on the news is carried out by writers and editors to adjust the layout of small newspapers and make the news more interesting because it arouses the curiosity of readers. The results of the analysis of 10 news headlines found that there were 1 complete sentence that were not omitted and 9 sentences that were omitted by nouns with subject functions, verbs with predicate functions, and affixes to verb

    STRATEGI PEMBERITAAN MEDIA ONLINE INDONESIA DALAM KASUS DEMONSTRASI RUU HIP (ANALISIS WACANA KRITIS THEO VAN LEEUWEEN)

    This research aimedto describe the different points of view among the Indonesian national online media, namely Detiknews.com, Kompas.com, CNN Indonesia and Tempo.com and to describe the tendency of the online media's attitudes in constructing the Demonstration case of the RUU HIP. The exclusion strategy is used to see how actors are excluded or hidden in the news text. This exclusion and inclusion strategy looks at how the forms of language usage are used to recapture the meaning to the public. The data of this research were found from reporting on the demonstration case of the RUU HIP in July 2020 in online media Detiknews.com, Kompas.com, Tempo.com and CNN Indonesia during 15-16 July 2020. This research used a qualitative descriptive method with a critical discourse analysis by Theo Van Leeuwen in order to describe how events and actors are portrayed in the news. The results showed that the form of Leeuwen's exclusion theory found in four news reports in online media was that Detiknews.com, Kompas.com, and CNN Indonesia in the news about the demonstration of the RUU HIP tended to use an inclusion strategy while, Tempo.com was more towards exclusio

    THE TRICKING OF ADVERTISERS (Critical Pragmatic Analysis)

    ABSTRACT Advertisements have their ideologies, values and particular interests existing in them and that must be viewed critically. Using critical pragmatic analysis, this article aims to unravel critically the ideologies, values and interests that advertisers want to convey through the discourse they conceal. To dismantle it,  we will take such steps; (1) transcribing data from spoken language into written language, (2) noting how the overall narrative of the visual organization and the text in the advertisement; (3) examines imagery to be built by the advertiser, how the advertiser's imaging process is represented, who is omitted/ignored by the advertisement, what is ignored or absent in the advertisement, and last (4) the establishment of a text link; assessment, representation, relationships, identification. The results were obtained as follows; Ramayana Department Store (RDS) wants to change the mindset of its audience about the word “cool”. Implicitly viewers are forced to become more consumptive. If it should be likened to film, then advertiser act as protagonist, parents as antagonist and children as object which is oppressed.     IMPROVING THE ABILITY OF WRITING A NARRATIVE CHARGE BY USING ANIMATED IMAGES MEDIA STUDENT CLASS V.B SD NEGERI 17 LUBUKLINGGAU

    The objective of this research was to explain the improvement of writing captions narrative using animated media images of class V.B SD Negeri 17 Lubuklinggau. The research method used was classroom action research. This research was conducted in two cycles. Techniques of collecting data using test and observation techniques. The research process of each cycle was done through four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study are students of class V.B with a total of 29 students consisting of 18 male students and 11 female students. The results showed that there was an increase in the ability to write a narrative essay of class V.B SD Negeri 17 Lubuklinggau by using animation media images. This is evidenced by students who get the value of ù‰„ 70 or who have completed in cycle two reached 93.10%. From the results of this study the Indonesian language teachers can use the animated media images in improving the ability to write narrative essay and ability on other basic competencies. The drill method that does not require additional media, and only relies on the five human senses is an advantage that deserves to be maximized. This study aims to offer ten elements that can encourage better results in the process of memorizing Mandarin with the drill method.     LINGUISTIC FEATURES OF ENGLISH STUDY PROGRAMS STUDENTS’ TEXT MESSAGES TO THEIR LECTURERS

    ABSTRACT This study aims to examine the linguistic features of English and Indonesian languages in students’ text messages sent to their lecturers. Content analysis is employed and the data are the linguistic features identified in 1,521 students’ text messages delivered to the lecturers. The findings confirm the results of the former studies in that the typographic features of emoticons, letter deletion, rebus writing, and phonetic spelling and morphological features of initialism, abbreviation, reduplication, truncation, and casual style of spoken dictions are employed—the features linguistically creating a special register called textese recognized by non-standard form or textisms.  The mechanics of languages are featured by the lack of compliance with the conventional usage of full stops, commas, and capitals; even less than ten percent of spaces considered inevitably used are not conventionally emploed. Dominant uses of one-claused sentences feature the syntax of the languages.   Keywords: linguistic features, text messaging, typography, morphology, and syntax
