Geometric Quantization and Two Dimensional QCD

    Get PDF
In this article, we will discuss geometric quantization of 2d QCD with fermionic and bosonic matter fields. We identify the respective large-N_c phase spaces as the infinite dimensional Grassmannian and the infinite dimensional Disc. The Hamiltonians are quadratic functions, and the resulting equations of motion for these classical systems are nonlinear. In a previous publication, the first author has shown that the linearization of the equations of motion for the Grassmannian gave the `t Hooft equation. We will see that the linearization in the bosonic case leads to the scalar analog of the `t Hooft equation found by Tomaras.Comment: 46 pages, Latex, no figure

A Note on Twistor Gravity Amplitudes

    Get PDF
In a recent paper, Witten proposed a surprising connection between perturbative gauge theory and a certain topological model in twistor space. In particular, he showed that gluon amplitudes are localized on holomorphic curves. In this note we present some preliminary considerations on the possibility of having a similar localization for gravity amplitudes.Comment: 14 pages, 6 figures. v2: minor changes, added referenc

Conformal Invariance of Spin Correlations in the Planar Ising Model

We rigorously prove the existence and the conformal invariance of scaling limits of the magnetization and multi-point spin correlations in the critical Ising model on arbitrary simply connected planar domains. This solves a number of conjectures coming from the physical and the mathematical literature. The proof relies on convergence results for discrete holomorphic spinor observables and probabilistic techniques.Comment: Changes in this version: the explicit formula for n-point spin correlations is proved in full generality. The appendix is rewritten completely and contains this new proof, the introduction is changed accordingly, the presentation in Sections 2.5 and 2.7(2.8) is rearranged slightly. 42 pages, 2 figure

Almost complex structures on the cotangent bundle

We construct some lift of an almost complex structure to the cotangent bundle, using a connection on the base manifold. This generalizes the complete lift defined by I.Sato and the horizontal lift introduced by K.Yano and S.Ishihara. We study some geometric properties of this lift and its compatibility with symplectic forms on the cotangent bundle.Comment: 14 page
