Calculation of Fetal Weight Estimation Displayed with TFT LCD

Fetal weight estimation during pregnancy is one of the beneficial ways to solve morbidity and death during labor problem. Manually, the fundal height is measured from the edge of the pubic symphysis to the top of the uterine fundus by following the arch of the uterus, using a measuring tape. The purpose of this study is to develop an easy way to count fetal weight estimation so midwives don't have to count manually. The calculation of fetal weight estimation tool uses a variable resistor (potentiometer) as a sensor to measure the fundal height. Then it will be processed in microcontroller. The measurement results are fundal height and estimation fetal weight that will be displayed on the TFT LCD. Based on the results of measuring the fundus uterine height as much as 6 times against the measuring tool (ruler), there is no error in the device so it can be concluded that this tool can be used according to its function. This calculation of fetal weight estimation tool is portable and easy to use to help midwives count the fetal weight estimation quickly

Performance Investigation on Scan-On-Receive and Adaptive Digital Beam-Forming for High-Resolution Wide-Swath Synthetic Aperture Radar

    Get PDF
The work investigates the performance of the Smart Multi-Aperture Radar Technique (SMART) Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) system for high-resolution wide-swath imaging based on Scan-on-Receive (SCORE) algorithm for receive beam steering. SCORE algorithm works under model mismatch conditions in presence of topographic height. A study on the potentiality of an adaptive approach for receive beam steering based on spatial spectral estimation is presented. The impact of topographic height on SCORE performance in different operational scenarios is examined, with reference to a realistic SAR system. The SCORE performance is compared to that of the adaptive approach by using the Cramèr Rao lower bound analysis

This work aims to show the potentialities of SAR Tomography (TomoSAR) techniques for the 3-D characterization (height, reflectivity, time stability) of built-up areas using data acquired by the satellite sensor TerraSAR-X. For this purpose 19 TerraSAR-X single-polarimetric multibaseline images acquired over Paris urban area have been processed applying classical nonparametric (Beamforming and Capon) and parametric (MUSIC) spectral estimation techniques

Linear Differential Constraints for Photo-polarimetric Height Estimation

In this paper we present a differential approach to photo-polarimetric shape estimation. We propose several alternative differential constraints based on polarisation and photometric shading information and show how to express them in a unified partial differential system. Our method uses the image ratios technique to combine shading and polarisation information in order to directly reconstruct surface height, without first computing surface normal vectors. Moreover, we are able to remove the non-linearities so that the problem reduces to solving a linear differential problem. We also introduce a new method for estimating a polarisation image from multichannel data and, finally, we show it is possible to estimate the illumination directions in a two source setup, extending the method into an uncalibrated scenario. From a numerical point of view, we use a least-squares formulation of the discrete version of the problem. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first work to consider a unified differential approach to solve photo-polarimetric shape estimation directly for height. Numerical results on synthetic and real-world data confirm the effectiveness of our proposed method.Comment: To appear at International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV), Venice, Italy, October 22-29, 201

Counting integral points on universal torsors

Manin's conjecture for the asymptotic behavior of the number of rational points of bounded height on del Pezzo surfaces can be approached through universal torsors. We prove several auxiliary results for the estimation of the number of integral points in certain regions on universal torsors. As an application, we prove Manin's conjecture for a singular quartic del Pezzo surface.Comment: 48 page

Two-dimensional Gaussian processes applied to the determination of contact between lubricated rolling surfaces

    Get PDF
The effectiveness of a lubricant film preventing metallic contact between two rolling surfaces (such as in ball bearings) as a function of surface roughness parameters was investigated. The parameters considered are the spectral moments of the two-dimensional surface obtained by superposition of the two rolling surfaces. The peak height distribution, estimation of one-dimensional profile spectral moments, and the estimation of two-dimensional surface moments from several profile measurements were considered. Also given is an asymptotic relation between the mean film thickness and contact occurrences
