Logarithmic-function generator
Solid-state logarithmic-function generator is compact and provides improved accuracy. Generator includes a stable multivibrator feeding into RC circuit. Resulting exponentially decaying voltage is compared with input signal. Generator output is proportional to time required for exponential voltage to decay from preset reference level to level of input signal
The Extended Invariant Factor Algorithm with Application to the Forney Analysis of Convolutional Codes
In his celebrated paper on the algebraic structure of convolutional codes, Forney showed that by using the invariant-factor theorem, one can transform an arbitrary polynomial generator matrix for an (n, k) convolutional code C into a basic (and ultimately a minimal) generator matrix for C. He also showed how to find a polynomial inverse for a basic generator matrix for C, and a basic generator matrix for the dual code C^⊥. In this paper, we will discuss efficient ways to do all these things. Our main tool is the “entended invariant factor algorithm,” which we introduce here
Improving random number generators by chaotic iterations. Application in data hiding
In this paper, a new pseudo-random number generator (PRNG) based on chaotic
iterations is proposed. This method also combines the digits of two XORshifts
PRNGs. The statistical properties of this new generator are improved: the
generated sequences can pass all the DieHARD statistical test suite. In
addition, this generator behaves chaotically, as defined by Devaney. This makes
our generator suitable for cryptographic applications. An illustration in the
field of data hiding is presented and the robustness of the obtained data
hiding algorithm against attacks is evaluated.Comment: 6 pages, 8 figures, In ICCASM 2010, Int. Conf. on Computer

Multiphase clock-pulse generator uses simplified circuitry
Multiphase clock-pulse generator converts a simple pulse train into nonoverlapping clock pulses. The generator employs multistable circuits to minimize the number of electronic components
Self-energized plasma compressor
The self-energized plasma compressor is described which compresses plasma discharged from a coaxial plasma generator. The device includes a helically shaped coil which is coaxially aligned with the center axis of the coaxial plasma generator. The plasma generator creates a current through the helical coil which, in turn, generates a time varying magnetic field that creates a force which acts radially upon the plasma. The coaxial plasma generator and helical coil move the plasma under high pressure and temperature to the narrow end of the coil. Positioned adjacent to the narrow end of the coil are beads which are engaged by the plasma to be accelerated to hypervelocities for simulating meteoroids
