The estimation of the economic efficiency of agrarian enterprises is based on the use of the system of interconnected indices of natural and valuable calculation that reflect the effect and influence forms of objective economic laws in material production of agrarian sphere taking into account its peculiarities. In the process of the study of the economic efficiency of grain production of main food and grain-forage crops in the studied region we have considered a series of main production-financial parameters that are determined by their nature as: a ratio between resources consumption and volume of goods and services, produced of these resources; maximal volume of production of goods and services using the minimal cost of resources; obtaining of the maximal result of limited resources, accessible for a human. The essential increase of grain production and improvement of its economic efficiency is, undoubtedly, the most important task of the state agrarian policy, its solution determines guaranteeing of the effective activity of both grain-production subcomplex and agro-industry in whole and also food safety of the country. The scientific article presents the analysis of the economic efficiency of grain production on the example of agrarian enterprises of Ternopil region in 2010-2016. The work demonstrates economic-financial results of realization of grain and leguminous crops of the region and also presents production-economic indices of realization of grain of main food and grain-forage crops – wheat, corn for grain, barley, buckwheat, pea. The realized work allows to determine tendencies of the economic efficiency of grain production, to estimate its competitiveness under conditions of the market environment

There are several variations of efficiency definitions and of course ratios concerned with efficiency. A better understanding of the notion of efficiency is critical to dissolve ambiguity about it. Many confuse efficiency with other supposedly synonymous notions such as profitability, successfulness, competitiveness, liquidity or productivity. This ambiguity originates not only in subjective reasons, but the lack of hierarchical order among certain ideas. The primary driver in our research is, to systematize efficiency in general, and formulate a new categorical approach of the efficiency in corporate level

Analysis of Technical Efficiency of Small-Scale Rice Farmers in Indonesia

In this study, we analyzed the performance of small-scale rice farmers who used hand tractors in Jember Regency, Indonesia. Data were collected from 144 small-scale rice farmers in six districts through the use of a questionnaire in September 2015. The Data Envelopment AnalysisSlack-Based Model (DEA-SBM) was used to calculate the technical efficiency of small-scale rice farmers based on seven inputs and one output by determining Overall Technical Efficiency (OTE), Pure Technical Efficiency (PTE), and Scale Efficiency (SE). The results showed that out of 144 small-scale rice farmers, only nine farmers and 14 farmers were evaluated as strongly efficient and weakly efficient, respectively, while the rest were categorized as inefficient. The average values for OTE, PTE, and SE were 0.41, 0.63, and 0.61, respectively. The observed inefficiency was because of both poor input utilization (managerial inefficiency) and failure to operate at an optimal scale (scale inefficiency). Such analysis of technical efficiency can encourage small-scale rice farmers to enhance their performance and profitability

Efficiency Analysis of Swarm Intelligence and Randomization Techniques

Swarm intelligence has becoming a powerful technique in solving design and scheduling tasks. Metaheuristic algorithms are an integrated part of this paradigm, and particle swarm optimization is often viewed as an important landmark. The outstanding performance and efficiency of swarm-based algorithms inspired many new developments, though mathematical understanding of metaheuristics remains partly a mystery. In contrast to the classic deterministic algorithms, metaheuristics such as PSO always use some form of randomness, and such randomization now employs various techniques. This paper intends to review and analyze some of the convergence and efficiency associated with metaheuristics such as firefly algorithm, random walks, and L\'evy flights. We will discuss how these techniques are used and their implications for further research.Comment: 10 pages. arXiv admin note: substantial text overlap with arXiv:1212.0220, arXiv:1208.0527, arXiv:1003.146

Bank Efficiency Analysis and Stock Return in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX)

This study aimed to analyze the efficiency of the banks which are listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and empirically tests the bank effects on the stock returns of each bank. The sample of this study is all banks which are listed in the IDX during the period of 2009 to 2016. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) used to measure the bank efficiency in each Decision making units (DMUs), which are obtained as the maximum ratio to know the efficiency level of stock performance by using DEA methods. From the total of 25 banks analyzed, acquired six banks which were always efficient in the period of 2009 to 2016. Moreover, to know the relation between the bank efficiency and the stock return, the regression testing is done by using fixed effect models. The result shows that the bank efficiency of Indonesian banks does not affect their stock return
