Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis of soil humic acids, lignins, model phenolic polymers, and fungal melanins
Soil humic acid fractionated by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis yield four fractions: a, b, and c+d. Lignin samples runs as a single band and have the same electrophoretic mobility than fraction b of humic acid. Degraded lignin also yield fraction c+d. Model phenolic polymers and fungal melanins were mainly distributed into fractions equivalent to fractions b and c+d of humic acids. These data confirms those obtained using other analytical methods. This work was supported by a travel grant from the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas-Russian Academy of Sciences Cooperation Agreement.Peer Reviewe
