About the Simultaneous Co-Existence of Instantaneous and Retarded Interactions in Classical Electrodynamics
In this paper it is proved that, contrary to the results found by A.E.
Chubykalo and S.J. Vlaev (Int. J. Mod. Phys. A 14, 3789 (1999)), the retarded
electric and magnetic fields for an uniformly accelerated charge exactly
satisfy Maxwell equations (ME). Furthermore it is shown that ME are correctly
written in the usual form with the partial derivatives and thus not, as
proposed by Chubykalo and Vlaev, with the total derivatives.Comment: 7 pages, to be published in Int. J. Mod. Phys.
Free ureteral replacement in rats: regeneration of ureteral wall components in the acellular matrix graft.
ObjectivesTo evaluate ureteral replacement by a free homologous graft of acellular matrix in a rat model.MethodsIn 30 male Sprague-Dawley rats, a 0.3 to 0.8-cm midsegment of the left ureter was resected and replaced with an acellular matrix graft of equal length placed on a polyethylene stent. The animals were killed at varying intervals, and the grafted specimens were prepared for light and electron microscopy.ResultsIn all animals, the acellular matrix graft remained in its original position without evidence of incrustation or infection, and histologic examination showed complete epithelialization and progressive infiltration by vessels. At 10 weeks, smooth muscle fibers were observed; at 12 weeks, nerve fibers were first detected; at 4 months, smooth muscle cells had assumed regular configuration.ConclusionsThe ureteral acellular matrix graft appears to promote the regeneration of all ureteral wall components
Optical data storage using orthogonal wavelength multiplexed volume holograms
We propose a volume holographic data storage scheme that employs counterpropagating reference and image beams and wavelength multiplexing for page differentation. This method is compared with that based on angular multiplexing. A reduction in holographic cross talk is predicted. Further cross-talk reduction that is due to sidelobe suppression is observed in experiments by using photorefractive crystals and the proposed orthogonal data storage
Relaxing Tax Competition through Public Good Differentation
This paper argues that, because governments are able to relax tax competition through public good differentiation, traditionally high-tax countries have continued to set taxes at a relatively high rate even as markets have become more integrated. The key assumption is that firms vary in the extent to which public good provision reduces costs. We show that Leviathan governments are able to use this fact to relax the forces of tax competition, reducing efficiency. When firms can ‘vote with their feet’ tax competition leads firms to locate in ‘too many’ jurisdictions. A ‘minimum tax’ further relaxes tax competition, further reducing efficiency.asymmetric equilibrium ; core-periphery ; non-renegotiable minimum tax ; tax competition ; tax harmonization
Examine of the Facts of Women and Migration During the Urbanization in the Scale of South-eastern Anatolia Region (Gap), in Turkey
Since the beginning of 1950’s the migration of population from countryside to cities constitutes a subject as an important part of demographic changing on its own. Since the second half of 1970’s, especially domestic migration from the small and medium size cities to big cities, by turning into family migration became dense in the three big metropolises in west. (Ãstanbul, Ankara, Ãzmir). In 1990’s both the migration from east and Southeast Anatolia to other regions and the obligatory migration inside the region have been added to elements which effect movement of population. While this changing, which occurs in the dynamics of domestic migration during the time, does not exist in most of present researches, one of the other absence is social sex viewpoint. In the studies about migration, the lack of social sex viewpoint is not peculiar only to Turkey but also it seems limited in international literature. Present studies show there are important differences between women and men in the point of migration causes, participation to migration process, experiences during this process and effects of migration, attitudes and reactions of immigrants. In the core of these differences there are, collaboration inside the family between woman and man and parallel to this, social roles of woman and man, which described by customs and traditions. Women’ life relating to migration is generally closely related to their situations in family as a wife, a mother or a young girl about to marry. The relations between them and both the places they left and they just came is formed in this base. Consequently, in a migration process, which includes a social and place changing, identity of sex has an important role as much as socio-economic class, culture, ethnic or national identity. G.A.P. Region which is in the Southeast of our developing country has a village-city appearance by the effects of both many side social, physiological, economic and urban destruction which created by terror and fight and generally the feudal structure in the region, extreme poverty, lack of top and underground structure and the political and economic choices which does not mind about neighborhood values. This work has aimed at examine to migration which is one of the most important social fact in the world we live in the context of woman and urbanization and to expose the appearance of women in extent of G.A.P. region in domestic immigration…
Entropy functions for symmetric systems of conservation laws
It is shown that symmetric systems of conservation laws are equipped with a one-parameter family of entropy functions. A simple symmetrizability criterion is used
KERAGAMAN LARAS GONG KEBYAR DI BALI KAJIAN DALAM PERSPEKTIF BUDAYA
This research is qualitative and also supported by quantitative data which is about the measurement of the tuning system. The sample measurement are taken from three regencies that are: Buleleng, Klungkung and Denpasar. The phenomena of tuning system variation will be observed from the concep Desa Mawa Cara. In cultural perspective. The variation of tuning system will be analyzed in culture paradigm such as “form , fuction, and meaning”. The form will be analyzed by using structuralism theory; function will be analyzed by using functionalism theory, while the meaning will be analyzed using semiotic theory. Aesthetical will be analyzed by using aesthetical theory proposed by Alexander Baumgarten. This research, found some factors which cause variations in tuning system, they are: 1) there is no obligation to be followed, 2) freedom in creativity, 3) basd on musical function, 4) aesthetical analysis differentation, 5) geographical position. The function of tuning system such as : 1) against musical affectivity, 2) social identity, 3) cultural expression. In aesthetical aspect are found: (1) religion, (2) community solidarity, (3) Aesthetical, (4) symbolic interaction. This research is succeeded in analyzing tuning system aesthetical in some aspects, they are: 1) tonic, 2) interval (sruti), 3) octave (angkep-angkepan), 4) vibrating system (umbang-isep), and 5) resonator system (bumbung)
