Librarian formation: an experience report of scientific formation

Presents an experience report about the process of elaboration, execution and evaluation in the Scientific Initiation Project named “Information Literacy and informational practice: a study of sustainable development and exercise of citizenship", developed in the Library Science and Information Centre Management Course (CBG) of Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), in the years 2018 and 2019. Deals about an undergraduate scientific initiation project of educational, social, cultural and technological character, which aimed to develop research about study and actions of Information Literacy in information practices focused on sustainable development and exercise of citizenship. Presents initially a brief history of Library Science and librarians, as information professionals; history of UFRJ as an institution concerned with teaching, research and extension; and the creation of CBG at UFRJ. Points out the relevance of the project as learning beyond the classroom and the collective and collaborative development between students and teachers involved in its elaboration

A prática de competência em informação na Biblioteca do Centro de Filosofia e Ciências Humanas da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro

The forms of production and use of information are among the main activities that compose the routines of the librarians work in the reference service. Considering that the university library is a complex organization in the space of universities and, in general, its activity is the service to the academic community (composed of students, teachers and administrative technicians) on the university tripod composed of teaching, research and university extension, it may be noted that it is in this space that it is usually clear and objective evidence of the information needs of users and the weaknesses that involve the issues of access and use of information. This, among other things, highlights the importance of information competence initiatives promoted to users in the processes of search and retrieval of information in university libraries.As formas de produção e uso da informação estão entre as principais atividades que compõem as rotinas dos bibliotecários que atuam no serviço de referência. Considerando que a biblioteca universitária é uma organização complexa no espaço das universidades e, em geral, tem como atividade fim o atendimento à comunidade acadêmica (composta por discentes, docentes e técnico- administrativo) no tripé universitário composto por ensino, pesquisa e extensão universitária, pode-se notar que é nesse espaço que se costuma evidenciar de forma clara e objetiva as necessidades de informação dos usuários e as fragilidades que envolvem as questões de acesso e uso da informação. O que, entre outras coisas, evidencia a importância das iniciativas de competência em informação promovidas aos usuários nos processos de busca e recuperação da informação nas bibliotecas universitárias

Produção científica sobre Agenda 2030 nas publicações de competência em informação: uma análise da Brapci, Lisa e Ista

It presents results of the research on the scientific production in competence in information and information practice focused on the sustainable development and the exercise of citizenship associated with the Sustainable Development Objectives of the Agenda 2030, adopted by the member countries of the United Nations Organization. The methodology is based on the exploratory research, of a qualitative and quantitative nature, using research data organized from the analysis of content, with temporal cut of the years 2017 and 2018, in reference databases: Reference Database of Articles Periodicals in Information Science - Brapci, Library & Information Science Abstracts Lisa - and Information Science & Technology Abstracts - Ista. It is observed that information competence can influence the development of education in actions that promote development and stimulate the exercise of citizenship based on critical and ethical information practices

COMPETÊNCIA EM DADOS : habilidades na atuação e formação do bibliotecário

 Os desafios da gestão e curadoria de dados de pesquisa esbarram com a necessidade de desenvolver habilidades e competências específicas, dentre as quais as Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação. Nesse sentido, este artigo tem por objetivo identificar quais são as habilidades técnicas e tecnológicas que o bibliotecário precisa desenvolver, relacionadas à competência em dados. Para tal, propõe a criação de categorias e eixos temáticos a partir de uma coleta de dados nas ementas dos cursos de mestrado em Biblioteconomia credenciados pela American Library Association. Utiliza como procedimento metodológico uma abordagem qualitativa a partir de um método exploratório. Tem por resultados habilidades técnicas e tecnológicas relacionadas aos padrões de metadados, o conhecimento de recursos de dados, aprendizado e uso da linguagem de programação, dentre outras competências de cunho interdisciplinar com a ciência de dados. Conclui que a competência em dados, está relacionada à competência em informação e pode projetar as práticas biblioteconômicas, quanto às etapas que envolvem o uso das Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação para a gestão de dados de pesquisa. Palavras-chave: Competência em dados. Tecnologia da informação e comunicação. DATA LITERACY: LIBRARIAN’S SKILLS IN PROFESSIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT ABSTRACTThe research data management and digital curation challenges run into the need to develop skills, including literacies of Information and Communication Technology. This study aims to identify what are the technical and technological skills, that the librarian needs to develop the data literacy. This paper proposes the creation of thematic axes and categories based on data collection of institutional websites for master's courses in Library Science accredited by the American Library Association. The methodological procedure is a qualitative approach based on an exploratory method. Our results show that technical and technological skills include to metadata standards, knowledge of data resources, learning and use of the programming language, among other interdisciplinary skills. Overall, data literacy is related to information literacy and can be design library practices, that involve the use of information and communication technology for research data management. Keywords: Data literacy. Elaboração do termo de referência para aquisição de livros: o caso da UNIRIO.

Analisa uma nova abordagem de utilização do Termo de Referência no processo licitatório de aquisição bibliográfica por uma biblioteca universitária da Administração Pública. Utiliza para isso o caso específico do Sistema de Bibliotecas da Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO). Apresenta a instituição de ensino a partir de seus objetivos. Expõe o Sistema de Bibliotecas através de três vertentes (administrativamente, por unidades físicas e por área do conhecimento), detalha sua estrutura organizacional e administrativa. Emprega metodologia de abordagem exploratória com pesquisa bibliográfica e documental. Examina os principais tópicos do Termo de Referência com destaque para o campo objeto. Descreve a experiência da UNIRIO onde o objeto da licitação passa a ser a contratação da prestação de serviços do fornecedor e destaca as vantagens desse novo formato. Aponta as principais contribuições do profissional bibliotecário na elaboração para a aquisição de acervos dos programas de ensino, pesquisa e extensão

It offers a deeper level of analysis. Based on the literature of innovation, it discussed the approaches concerning the sharing of information for the generation of knowledge and the learning dynamics. From this theoretical departure it was possible to identify contributions to provide a better understanding of the microprocesses of information that underlie each step of the innovation process
