A STUDY OF MUSICAL STRUCTURE AND PANTUN TEXTS IN JONGGAN PERFORMING ARTS AMONG DAYAK KANAYATN

    Get PDF
Jonggan is a popular performance art in the Kanayatn Dayak community in West Kalimantan. Jonggan is a traditional art form that has been passed down from generation to generation within the Kanayatn Dayak community. The performance combines music, dance, and poetic recitation to provide entertainment. With the rapid development of technology, the role of musicians in a performance has diminished. The contemporary Jonggan performance has changed in terms of (1) dance movements, (2) costumes, (3) the presence of whistle blowers, and (4) the use of a curtain. In the 1960s and 1970s, Jonggan was still present, but since the 1980s, it has almost disappeared, especially among millennial, and when it is performed, it has undergone transformations. Nowadays, there is a term called Jongset (Jonggan Kaset), which refers to Jonggan performed using cassette tapes (cassette tapes = CD, DVD, or music files on a flash drive), which has eliminated the essence of traditional musical instruments. This raises the question of how the musical structure of the pantun accompaniment, including melody and rhythm, is incorporated into the Jonggan performance art. The research method employed in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach with a musicological perspective. Data can be directly observed from the current existence of Jonggan. The results of the research on the musical structure of the pantun accompaniment in the Jonggan performance aim to preserve and document traditional music materials in a more organized manner. Jonggan can become a cultural-based performance industry with economic impacts (creative economy). The musical structure of Jonggan uses instruments such as agukng, dau, gadobokng, and soling

Theoretical determination of the effect of a screening gate on plasmon-induced superconductivity in twisted bilayer graphene

The microscopic pairing mechanism for superconductivity in magic-angle twisted bilayer graphene remains an open question. Recent experimental studies seem to rule out a purely electronic mechanism due to the insensitivity of the critical superconducting temperature to either a highly doped screening layer or the proximity to a metallic screening gate. In this theoretical work, we explore the role of external screening layers on the superconducting properties of twisted bilayer graphene within a purely electronic mechanism. Consistent with the experimental observations, we find that the critical temperature is unaffected by screening unless the screening layer is closer than 3 nanometers from the superconductor. Thus, the available transport data is not in contradiction with a plasmon-mediated mechanism. We also investigate other properties of this plasmon-mediated superconductivity including signatures in the tunneling density of states as probed in spectroscopy experiments.Comment: 13 pages and 7 figure

Electrostatic Modulation of the Electronic Properties of Dirac Semimetal Na3Bi

Large-area thin films of topological Dirac semimetal Na3_3Bi are grown on amorphous SiO2_2:Si substrates to realise a field-effect transistor with the doped Si acting as back gate. As-grown films show charge carrier mobilities exceeding 7,000 cm2^2/Vs and carrier densities below 3 ×\times 1018^{18} cm−3^{-3}, comparable to the best thin-film Na3_3Bi. An ambipolar field effect and minimum conductivity are observed, characteristic of Dirac electronic systems. The results are quantitatively understood within a model of disorder-induced charge inhomogeneity in topological Dirac semimetals. Due to the inverted band structure, the hole mobility is significantly larger than the electron mobility in Na3_3Bi, and when present, these holes dominate the transport properties.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures; minor corrections and revisions for readabilit

The high rice production in Gresik Regency is not comparable with the level of welfare of rice farmers. The inequality of income distribution of rice farmers has resulted in income disparities between rice farmers. The problem of income inequality is one indicator in seeing the level of community welfare. This study aims to identify the diversity of sources of income of rice farmers, analyze rice farming income and its contribution to the total household income of rice farmers and analyze the income inequality of rice farmers in Jogodalu Village, Benjeng District, Gresik Regency. The research method for determining the area is done intentionally. Whereas for sampling, the method used was purposive sampling with the characteristics of rice farmers with rice farming income and other income outside of rice farming. the number of samples taken in this study were 42 samples. The analysis used was descriptive qualitative analysis, analysis of income and income of rice farmers and analysis of the Gini Ratio (supplemented by Lorenz Curve). The results showed that the source of income of rice farmers outside rice farming was quite diverse. Rice farming income has a total average income of Rp. 146,707,377 with an average contribution of farm income to total household income of 52%. The income inequality of rice farmers in Jogodalu Village was obtained by the Gini Ratio index of 0.20 and was in the low category. DOI : https://doi.org/10.33005/adv.v9i1.220

Objective:  To determine the relationship between depression, anxiety, and stress with the employment status of people in Bali during Covid-19 pandemic. Methods: This study was a cross-sectional analytical study conducted in Bali, Indonesia, in 2021. The instrument used was DASS-21 questionnaire, which was distributed to a total sample size of 96 people. The relationship between variables were analyzed with a p-value of <0.05 as the cut-off for a significant relationship. Results: Depression symptoms had a significant relationship with gender (p=0.024) while anxiety symptoms had a significant association with the employment status during the pandemic (p=0.027). Similarly, stress symptoms also had a significant relationship with gender (p=0.007) and employment status during COVID-19 pandemic (p=0.007).Conclusion: There is a relationship between depression, anxiety, and stress due to changes in employment status during the COVID-19 pandemic in Badung Districts, Bali
