    The purpose of this research to deternine the effect of the use of some types organic mulch on the growth seedings of cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) varieties of Trinitario and know the best mulching. This study was conducted in Experimental Field of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau which lasts from march to June 2016. The study was conducted in a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments, each treatment was repeated 5 times to 20 experimental units per finding unit compristing three plants so grand total of 60 plants cocoa. The treatments were without organic mulch (M0), organic mulch paddy straw 150 g/ plant (M1),organic mulch sawdust 150 g/ plant (M2) and organic mulch paddy straw 75 g/ plant+ sawdust 75 g/ plant parameters measured were plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, stem diameter. The data were statistically analyzed using of variance (ANOVA). Effect of organic mulch of paddy straw with a dose of 150 g/ plant significantly different from provision of organic mulch of saw dust at a dose of 150 g/ plant organic paddy straw mulching 75 g/ plant sawdust 75 g/ plant and without offering of organic mulch. Biological mulching paddy straw with a dose of 150 g/ plant will give the best effect on plant height, number of leaves, leaf area and stem diameter

    This research is to figure out the interaction influences of two species of dragon fruit seedlings and the application of compound NPK fertilizer, and to determinate the best fertilizer dosage for dragon fruit seedling growth. This research had implemented in Screen Home Experimentation Faculty Agriculture, University of Riau on November of 2015 until February 2016 by station factorial design which is arranged in Randomized Block Design (RAK) and consists of two factors. The first factor is the species of dragon fruits (N); red and white. The second factor is the giving of compound NPK fertilizer, they are 1 g, 2 g, 3 g, 4 g and 5 g. Data obtained of the research, analyzed with variance and Honestly Significant Difference (BNJ) on 5%. Results of the research suggest that the interacton between two species of dragon fruit seedlings and the suggest of NPK fertilizer there is no significant difference on budding, the number and the length of budding, the number and the length of roots, the volume of roots, the fresh and dry weight of budding. The application of compound NPK fertilizer there is no significant difference in all of observatios. Based on is the researchs of stem cutting growth of two species of dragon fruit seedlings is recommended to give 1 g/ 3 kg soilof compound NPK fertilizer

    To determine the effect of biogas and liquid fertilizer to get a dose of where best to improve seedling performance. This study was conducted over three months, from May to July 2016. This study is an experiment using a completely randomized design (CRD) non factorial which consists of 5 treatments and 4 replications. The parameters of the observation that the increase of plant height, increase the number of leaves, increase the girth, leaf area, the ratio of the canopy and root dry weight of seedlings. The results showed liquid biogas fertilizer on seedling significant effect on the increase of plant height, leaf area and canopy ratio roots. To obtain good growth increase in seedling can be given a dose of 250 ml / plant

    Sweet corn (Zea mays Var saccarata Sturt) widely used because it has the nutrients and relatively high levels of sugar so it tastes sweeter than regular corn. Fertilization is one of the important agronomic aspects considered as closely related to the planting medium, for that is necessary for soil fertilization can provide nutrients needed by plants sweet corn so that the results can be maximized. This study aimed to determine the effect of vermicompost and NPK fertilizer on the growth and yield of sweet corn and get the best treatment effect. Research conducted at the experimental farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The study conducted from May to August 2014. The study was carried out experiments using a randomized block design (RBD) factorial consisting of two factors, namely vermicompost and NPK fertilizer with 3 replications. Parameters measured were plant height, harvest age, weight cornhusk cob, cob weight without husk, production per plot, circumference cob and length cob. The results showed vermicompost and NPK significantly affected all parameters were observed. Doses vermicompost 4 tons/ha and 250 kg NPK/ha gives the best results on the growth and yield of sweet corn compared with other treatments

    Sweet corn is one of the crops that has a fairly large role in provide the nutritional needs of the people. One of the effort that can be do to improve the growth and production of sweet corn is fertilization. The aim of this research are to determine the effect of interaction of cocoa peel\u27s compost and Urea, TSP and KCl fertilizer on growth and yield of sweet corn and get the best dose of treatment. This research was conducted experimentally by using Randomized Design Group (RDG) factorial with two factors namely cocoa peel\u27s compost treatment consist of 4 levels namely 0 ton/ha (K0); 2,5 tons/ha (K1); 5 tons/ha (K2); 7,5 tons/ha (K3) and Urea, TSP and KCl fertilizer treatment consist of 4 levels namely (50 kg Urea; 37,5 kg TSP; 25 kg KCl)/ha (P1); (100 kg Urea; 75 kg TSP; 50 kg KCl)/ha (P2); (150 kg Urea; 112,5 kg TSP; 75 kg KCl)/ha (P3); (200 kg Urea;150 kg TSP; 100 kg KCl)/ha (P4) with 3 replications. The parameters focus on plant height, the ratio of editorial root, cob length without cornhusk, the number of rows and cob weight without cornhusk/plot. The result of this research shows that the interaction of cocoa peel\u27s compost and Urea, TSP and KCl fertilizer there is no real effect to all the parameters. Giving cocoa peel\u27s compost 7.5 tons/ha and fertilizer (200 g Urea, 150 g TSP and 100 g KCl)/ha is the best dose of treatment

    Pertumbuhan Bibit Buah Naga (Hylocereus Costaricensis) dengan Perbedaan Panjang Stek dan Konsentrasi Zat Pengatur Tumbuh

    Dragon fruit (Hylocereus costaricensis) is one of fruit trees that grow well in Indonesia, so it has a great chance to be developed. These opportunities must be balanced with the supply of seed. Cuttings material and Growth Regulator Substance (GRS) concentration a factor that must be considered in the cultivation of seedlings because it will affect the growth of it in the field. The research was conducted at dragon fruit plantation Tameran village Bengkalis regency. The time used in this research lasted from August to December 2012. The design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) 3 x 3 factorial with 3 replication. The first factor is the length cuttings, which is 20 cm, 25 cm and 30 cm. While the second factor is the GRS concentration, which is 6 g/10 ml, 9 g/10 ml and 12 g/10 ml. The parameters measured were the time appeared root, root length, number of roots, root volume, time appeared shoot, shoot length, number of shoots seedling fresh weight gain and dry weight of seedlings. Data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and further tested by further testing (DNMRT) level of 5%. Results shows of the best dragon fruit seedlings growing on a combination between the 30 cm long cuttings with 9g/10 ml GRS concentration
