We aimed to conduct cost-utility analysis of two different regimens of the oral hypoglycemic therapy in 2 type diabetes mellitus (DM2). Methods. In the whole, 229 patients with DM2, receiving vildagliptin add-on to metformin (group 1) or sulphonylureas add-on to metformin (group 2) were enrolled in the study. Cost-utility ratio (CUR) was identified as a ratio of difference in total costs of treatment in the groups and difference in QALY in corresponding groups. The overall costs included direct costs of treatment as well as costs for treating of DM2 complications (severe hypoglycemia) and the costs related to the loss of GDP due to severe hypoglycemia events. Health utility value was evaluated for each patient on the basis of SF-6D questionnaire. Pharmacoeconomic expediency of treatment regimen was estimated by means of comparing the CUR and wiliness-to-pay ratio (WTP) for Russian Federation (RF). Results. The health utility value was higher in group 1 as compared to group 2: 0,757 vs 0,70 (p>0,05). The overall costs for treating one patient in group 1 during a year were 28 637,34 rubles, in group 2 - 10 231,55 rubles. CUR amounted 328 674,82 rubles and it was 4.4 times lower than upper border of WTP ratio in RF (1 457 400 rub.). Conclusion. The innovation treatment regimen with vildagliptin add-on to metformin is beneficial and may be considered as economically reasonable alternative to traditional treatment regimen with sulphonylureas add-on to metformin for DM2 patients in RF

Method of croplands dynamics mapping in river basins of the european part of Russia for the period of 1985-2015

The work is devoted to the technique of mapping of cultivated and abandoned croplands in areas of the European territory of Russia of different climate, landscape and geomorphological conditions. A technological scheme of croplands visual interpretation based on Landsat 5 and 8 multi-seasonal images for two time slices (mid-1980s and the modern period of 2013-2015) is described. Classification keys of various types of croplands are introduced: spring crops, winter crops, fallow, abandoned croplands. A technique of croplands digitizing based on the principles used in the CORINE Land Cover 2000 (CLC2000) project is presented. Vector layers of cultivated croplands for the two considered periods are obtained. Validation of the results based on high-resolution satellite imagery is performed

Changes of cropland area in the river basins of the European part of Russia for the period 1985-2015, as a factor of soil erosion dynamics

The work is devoted to the effect of the change of cropland area on the rate of soil erosion in sites of the European part of Russia located in different climatic, landscape and geomorphological conditions. Using the results of visual interpretation of multi-seasonal Landsat-5 and -8 images, the cultivated cropland areas in 9 river basins for two time slices (mid-1980s and the current period 2013-2015) were calculated, and the changes that occurred over 30 years were estimated. Croplands is the dominant category of land use in almost all regions, and it is in the range of 40-65 % in 2015. The decrease of croplands area was revealed in all studied river basins. An assessment of the effect of cropland reduction on the soil loss rate was carried out. Using the SRMM DEM with a 30 m spatial resolution, the following morphometric characteristics of relief for cultivated and abandoned croplands were calculated: steepness of slopes, flow path length, factor LS. Based on the results of calculations, the average values of the factor LS reduced from 1985 to 2015 on the croplands in all considered basins. The obtained data confirm that the reduction of the croplands area is one of the factors responsible for the decrease of modern soil loss rates observed in field studies

Two composition substrates for growing plants were obtained by mechanical mixing of EDE-10P ion exchange resin in nitrate and phosphate forms with a natural clinoptilolite in potassium form. The substrates were tested in the biological experiment on continuous successive growing grass Lolium perenne L. on a fruitless sand with its 2% content without adding fertilizers. The productivity of the substrate was ~0.5 kg of dry (~5 kg green) overground biomass per kilogram of the ion exchange substrate, which is on the level of standard ion exchange substrate Biona®.

A new variant of the method for preparation of the ion exchange substrate for plants is described in the paper. The cationic component has been obtained by equilibrating of the cation exchange resin with a concentrated solution of salts of the main biogenic cations K+, Ca2+, Mg2+; the anionic component is obtained by neutralization of the OH- form of anion exchanger with a concentrated mixed solution of the acids containing the nutrient elements that is HNO3, H3PO4 and H2SO4. Both components are mixed and the microelements are added to obtain the full ion exchange substrate.

Microscopic theory of quadrupolar ordering in TmTe

We have calculated the crystal electric field of TmTe (T>T_Q) and have obtained that the ground state of a Tm 4f hole is the Γ7\Gamma_7 doublet in agreement with Mossbauer experiments. We study the quadrupole interactions arising from quantum transitions of 4f holes of Tm. An effective attraction is found at the L point of the Brillouin zone, qL\vec{q}_L. Assuming that the quadrupolar condensation involves a single arm of qL\vec{q}_L we show that there are two variants for quadrupole ordering which are described by the space groups C2/c and C2/m. The Landau free energy is derived in mean-field theory. The phase transition is of second order. The corresponding quadrupole order parameters are combinations of T2gT_{2g} and EgE_g components. The obtained domain structure is in agreement with observations from neutron diffraction studies for TmTe. Calculated lattice distortions are found to be different for the two variants of quadrupole ordering. We suggest to measure lattice displacements in order to discriminate between those two structures.Comment: 10 pages, 2 figures, 5 tables; accepted by PR
