Algebraic Integration of Sigma Model Field Equations
We prove that the dualization algebra of the symmetric space coset sigma
model is a Lie algebra and we show that it generates an appropriate adjoint
representation which enables the local integration of the field equations
yielding the first-order ones.Comment: 27p
Causes of Ineradicable Spurious Predictions in Qualitative Simulation
It was recently proved that a sound and complete qualitative simulator does
not exist, that is, as long as the input-output vocabulary of the
state-of-the-art QSIM algorithm is used, there will always be input models
which cause any simulator with a coverage guarantee to make spurious
predictions in its output. In this paper, we examine whether a meaningfully
expressive restriction of this vocabulary is possible so that one can build a
simulator with both the soundness and completeness properties. We prove several
negative results: All sound qualitative simulators, employing subsets of the
QSIM representation which retain the operating region transition feature, and
support at least the addition and constancy constraints, are shown to be
inherently incomplete. Even when the simulations are restricted to run in a
single operating region, a constraint vocabulary containing just the addition,
constancy, derivative, and multiplication relations makes the construction of
sound and complete qualitative simulators impossible
Quantum-dot-spin single-photon interface
Using background-free detection of spin-state-dependent resonance
fluorescence from a single-electron charged quantum dot with an efficiency of
0:1%, we realize a single spin-photon interface where the detection of a
scattered photon with 300 picosecond time resolution projects the quantum dot
spin to a definite spin eigenstate with fidelity exceeding 99%. The bunching of
resonantly scattered photons reveals information about electron spin dynamics.
High-fidelity fast spin-state initialization heralded by a single photon
enables the realization of quantum information processing tasks such as
non-deterministic distant spin entanglement. Given that we could suppress the
measurement back-action to well below the natural spin-flip rate, realization
of a quantum non-demolition measurement of a single spin could be achieved by
increasing the fluorescence collection efficiency by a factor exceeding 20
using a photonic nanostructure
Single production of excited electrons at future e^-e^+, ep and pp colliders
We analyzed the potential of the LC with TeV, LCLHC
based ep collider with TeV and LHC with TeV to
search for excited electrons through transition magnetic type couplings with
gauge bosons. The signal and corresponding backgrounds
are studied in detail.Comment: 11 pages, 11 figures, 3 table
Integrated Lax Formalism for PCM
By solving the first-order algebraic field equations which arise in the dual
formulation of the D=2 principal chiral model (PCM) we construct an integrated
Lax formalism built explicitly on the dual fields of the model rather than the
currents. The Lagrangian of the dual scalar field theory is also constructed.
Furthermore we present the first-order PDE system for an exponential
parametrization of the solutions and discuss the Frobenious integrability of
this system.Comment: 24 page
