An analysis of semantic field on technology of Time�s online magazines

The objective of this study is to tabulate lexemes in constructing the Semantic Field on Technology Text of TIME�s online magazines and to describe the types of component meaning in those lexemes and the function semantic field onthe technology text. The research data were collected from the 11 texts of technology text on TIME�s online magazines. The data were analyzed by using the componential analysis theory. The theory was used to identify components lexemes were then related to some feature that made on the table form. On the basis of analysis fond on the texts, there are eight Semantic Fields namely, the Semantic Field of ?Mass Media�, the Semantic Field of ?Application of Social Network�, the Semantic Field of ?Input Device�, the Semantic Field of ?Output Device�, the Semantic Field of Computer Industry�, the Semantic Field of ?The Application based on Website�, the Semantic Field of ?Information and Persuasion Industries�, the Semantic Field of ?Peripheral Device�. Those semantic fields are constructed into lexemes that occur on the texts. Beside, the writer finds that there are some types of component meaning in the technology texts such as common component, diagnostic component and supplementary component. In addition, there are some function semantic field that found in the semantic field on technology text. Finally, the writer wants this study to be useful for all of the reader, especially the students of English Letters Department. The writer also expects to all the readers and students to enrich their knowledge about grammatical comprehensive
