Persepsi Kualitas Layanan Warung Internet di Kota Medan
The purpose of the research is to examine the service quality perception of Internet cafe in Medan City. The research has been conducted in 30 Internet cafe, used a convenience sampling method to survey 286 respondents. The questionnaire measures five dimensions of service quality; tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy. Overall, the perception of service quality of Internet Cafe in Medan city is adequately good. Finally, implications and suggestions for future research are discussed
Karakteristik Dinamik Kolom Baja Yang Diisi Pasir, Kerikil Atau Serbuk Gergaji Besi
Steel column with circular cross section is frequently used in both civil and machine construction. Many of girders of ballyhoo, traffic sign pillars etc. are made from the type of this column, because of good availability and low price. The machine tool construction e.g. a drilling machine actually should be built with box type column not a circular one. However, in order to be able to rotate the machine arm and or the table, the machine column must be made of a circular type. Whereas a circular type column has both static and dynamic either bending or torsional stiffness lower than the box type for the same weight. The research is aimed to increase the dynamic stiffness of circular type column by using granular material as a vibration damper. The granular material like sand, gravel and iron sawdust is investigated. The result shows that the more volume of the granular material to be filled in column, the higher both the damping ratio and the dynamic stiffness. Consequently the best result is achieved by fully filled condition. The damping ratio rises up from 1 % for the an empty column to 10.6 % or up to 10.6 times higher for fully filled with iron sawdust and to 8.6 % or up to 8.6 times higher for fully filled with sand. The dynamic stiffness increase from 4.427E+5 N/m for an empty column to 5.285E+6 N/m or up to 11.94 times higher for fully filled with iron sawdust and to 2.192E+6 N/m or up to 4.95 times higher for fully filled with sand. This is of course a fantastic successfulness for a simple treatment

The dichloromethanolic fraction of keladi tikus (Typhonium flagelliforme) extract and the expression of p21 and caspase-3 of MCF-7 breast cancer cell-lineBackground: Breast cancer has a high degree of heterogeneity and problems in therapy, such as insensitive to antiproliferation signal and able to escape from apoptosis program. Typhonium flagelliforme (Lodd), Blume (Araceae) more commonly known as keladi tikus in Indonesia, often used as alternative in treating cancer, including breast cancer. The objective of study is proving the dichloromethanolic fraction of Typhonium flagelliforme tuber extracts influence on the expression of caspase-3 and p21 of MCF-7 cell-line that have deletion in CASP-3 gene.Methods: This study adapts laboratory experimental in-vitro in cells-line MCF-7, with “post test control group only design” and divided into two groups, were incubated in 5h, 10h and 20h. The control group received no other treatment. The treatment group received the dichloromethanolic fraction of Typhonium flagelliforme tuber extracts in IC50. Starting with cytotoxicity assay using MTT to determine the IC50, followed by Immunocytochemical analysis to observe the expression of p21 and caspase-3.Results: Paired sample T test shows a significant differences in treatment groups compared with the controls (p<0.05), namely an increase in the expression of nuclear p21 and caspase-3 on 20h incubation.Conclusion: There were increased in the expression of caspase-3 and nuclear p21, as well as depleted the cytoplasmic of p21 on MCF-7 cell-line that have deletion in CASP-3 in treatment by tuber extract of Typhonium flagelliforme dichloromethanolic fraction
Karakteristik Sifat Fisika Kompon Karet Alam sebagai Bahan Dasar Footstep Sepeda Motor dengan Berbagai Formula
Pembuatan kompon footstep sepeda motor dilakukan untuk mendapatkan campuran yang homogen antara karet dan bahan kimia pembantu. Kompon dicetak dengan waktu, suhu dan tekanan tertentu sehingga menjadi produk. Komposisi/formulasi yang tepat sangat diperlukan untuk mendapatkan sifat fisika kompon yang baik. Hasil pengujian sifat fisika kompon menunjukkan bahwa ketiga formulasi yang dibuat (F1, F2, dan F3) memiliki nilai uji kuat tarik (N/mm2) lebih baik bila dibandingankan dengan kompon pabrikan (FP) yaitu 13.12 (F1), 10.79 (F2), 7.73 (F3), dan 6.89 (FP), tetapi memiliki nilai yang lebih rendah untuk uji kuat sobek (N/mm) yaitu 2.36 (F1), 2.70 (F2), 2.86 (F3) dan 4.50 (FP), serta kekerasan (Shore A) yaitu 15 (F1), 18 (F2), 22 (F3), dan 49 (FP)
Risk Factors Host of Leptospirosis in Demak District
Leptospirosis adalah penyakit zoonosis yang disebabkan oleh bakteri yang termasuk genus Leptospira. Berbagai penelitian menunjukkan beberapa faktor risiko leptospirosis pada host. Tujuan penelitian yaitu mengidentifikasi faktor risiko leptospirosis pada host di Kabupaten Demak. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kasus kontrol, didukung dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Jumlah responden sebanyak 80 responden, terdiri dari 40 kasus dan 40 kontrol, dan dipilih dengan consecutive sampling. Instrumen yang dipakai adalah kuesioner terstruktur. Variabel yang terbukti secara bermakna merupakan faktor risiko leptospirosis adalah kontak dengan tikus (OR = 7,019; 95% CI = 1,665-29,590; p = 0,008), pekerjaan berisiko (OR = 6,317; 95% CI = 1,587-25,151; p = 0,009) dan keberadaan selokan yang buruk (OR = 5,762; 95% CI = 1,546-21,480; p = 0,009). Variabel yang tidak terbukti sebagai faktor risiko leptospirosis adalah keberadaan luka, kurangnya pengetahuan dan sikap tentang leptospirosis, keberadaan kotoran tikus, dan tempat penyimpanan bahan makanan matang yang tidak aman. Ketiga faktor risiko tersebut memberikan kontribusi terhadap kejadian leptospirosis di Kabupaten Demak sebesar 92,85%.

Pemberian Virgin Coconut Oil untuk Meningkatkan Jumlah dan Motilitas Spermatozoa: Studi pada Tikus Wistar dengan Diet Tinggi Lemak
Obesity is one of several causes of infertility in men, this accurs because off changes lifestyle, accurring in the diet. Consuming foods high in cholesterol and fatty foods can trigger obesity. High-fat diet can increase the production of free radicals that have a negative impact on the quality and amount of sperm motility. Virgin Coconut Oil contains lauric acid and polyphenols, which can capture free radicals. Objective of this study was to prove that Virgin Coconut Oil administration might increase the number and motility of spermatozoa in Wistar rats with high-fat diet (HFD). The study using Randomized Posttest Only Control Group Design. Thirty male Wistar rats aged 2 months and weighing 150-200 grams were divided into 5 groups: negative control (normal diet), positive control (HFD), first treatment group (HFD with VCO 1 ml/day), second treatment group (HFD with VCO 1.2 ml /day), and third treatment group (HFD with VCO 2 ml/day). The mean number of sperm in three treatment groups increase compared to the positive control group (375 million/ml), P1 (566.67 million/ml), P2 (510 million/ml) and P3 (500 million/ml), however statistically was went significant (p = 0.1). The mean percentage of sperm motility in the 3 treatment groups increase compared to the positive control group, P1 (43.33%), p2 (36%) and P3 (32.50%). however, statistically was not sinificant (p = 0.2). Virgin Coconut Oil cannot increase the number and motility of spermatozoa in male Wistar rats with hig-fat diet (p > 0.05)
