    IMPACT OF SAVI APPROACH TO IMPROVE STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT ON TEN GRADE STUDENTS AT SMA NEGERI 1 AIR JOMAN

    ABSTRACTThis study aims to investigate the impact from application of SAVI (Somatic, auditory, visual and intellectual) approach to improve student’s mathematics achievement on volume and distance of three dimension material. Quasi experimental method was used in the study. The population of the study were ten grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Air Joman. The samples of this study were 60 students which divided into two groups, experiment group and control group. The 30 students in experimental class were given SAVI approach and 30 students in control class were given conventional approach. The data were collected using a set of test and a set of questionnaire. A set of test was used to measure student’s achievement in learning volume and distance and a set of questionnairewas used to measured student’s attitude toward learning by SAVI approach. Both instruments were validated by expert. Software SPSS was used to analyze the data. The result of this study are: (1) students’ achievement after treatment given is higher than before treatment given both by SAVI approach and conventional approach; (2) the improvement of students’ achievement in SAVI class is better than students’ achievement in conventional class on the subtopic of volume and distance in grade X; (3) students attitude toward mathematics generally show a positive attitude. Keyword : SAVI approach, conventional approach

    ABSTRACT Problem solving is one of the skills needed in everyday life. The problems that arise in the life of every human being are very diverse from various fields. Each problem has its own strategy for finding a solution. Problem solving skills can be learned in the learning process. One of the lessons that can train problem-solving skills is learning mathematics. Learning is expected to lead more to the situation or condition of students in their life and can be applied in learning mathematics itself. Learning mathematics in accordance with student problems, students can be more focused in solving mathematical problem solving. One approach that can be applied to bring mathematics learning to students' lives is by using a contextual approach. The purpose of this study is to obtain information about mathematics learning where students are able to complete problem-solving steps through contextual learning. This research was conducted at SMP N 1 Kisaran. From the overall test results above, it was found that 16 out of 24 students (66.7%) had achieved mastery learning (score ≥ 75) while the other 8 students (33.3%) had not yet completed it. The class average score obtained was 69.4. In other words, contextual learning in terms of effective problem solving was implemented in SMP N 1 Kisaran. Keywords: Problem Solving, Contextua

    Kognitif merupakan sistem kerja otak yang tersusun pada pusat saraf pada waktu manusiasedang berpikir, sedangkan motorik atau psikomotor merupakan kerja susunan syaraf yangterhubung dengan aktivitas fisik atau atletik. Berdasarkan pada pengertian di atas, maka penulismengadakan pengabdian pada masyarakat di Desa Gajah Kec. Meranti Kab. Asahan. Kegiatanpengabdian pada masyarakat ini menggunakan pendekatan qualitative, menggunakaninstrumen interview, observasi, dan diskusi kepada masyarakat setempat, dengan melibatkanpartisipan dari tingkat sekolah dasar dan taman kanak-kanak Desa Gajah. Berdasarkan padapengabdian pada masyarakat tersebut didapat bahwa kegiatan cerdas cermat dianggap sangatmampu untuk mengembangkan kongnitif dan motorik atau psikomotrik anak-anak atau orangdewasa, dengan ciri khas yaitu siswa mampu menjawab setaip soal yang diberikan, siswamampu mencontohkan gaya atau aktifitas intruktur, siswa mampu menghubungkan jawabandengan aktifitas fisik dan siswa mampu mendemonstrasikan jenis aktifitas/gerak mudah,sederhana, dan sulit dari instruktur.Kata Kunci: Desa Gajah, Kognitif, instruktur

    ABSTRAK This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of thelearning model LAPS-Heuristic on the problem-solving abilities of students in class X SMA Negeri 1 Air Joman. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research design with two group pretest and posttest. The population in this study was all class X which consisted of 4 classes. The research sample consisted of 2 classes (class XA and XB) which were taken by cluster random sampling. Then given different treatment, the experimental class with thelearning model LAPS-Heuristic and the control class with the direct learning model. After the learning was completed, theobtained posttest was with an average result of the experimental class 80.81 and the control class 69.385. The t test results obtained tcount = 6.442> ttable = 1.67 then Ha is accepted, thus it can be concluded that there is an effect of the LAPS learning model(Logan Avenue Problem Solving)-Heuristic on the problem solving abilities of students in class X SMA Negeri 1 Air Joman . Keywords: Problem Solving,  LAPS(Logan Avenue Problem Solving)-Heuristi

    PENGEMBANGAN PERANGKAT PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS TAI (TEAM ASISSTED INDIVIDUALIZATION) DITINJAU DARI PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MATEMATIKA SISWA

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan mengetahui kelayakan RPP dan LKPD berbasis TAI (Team Asissted Individualization) ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang diterapkan di UPT SMP Negeri 2 Nibung Hangus dinilai dari kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (Development Reserch). Subjek uji coba dalam penelitian ini ialah siswa kelas VIII-1 UPT SMP Negeri 2 Nibung Hangus. Berdasarkan hasil validasi RPP dapat disimpulkan bahwa RPP dapat dinyatakan “sangat valid”dengan skor empiris 315. Selanjutnya hasil validasi LKPD dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKPD dinyatakan “sangat valid” dengan skor empiris 329.Uji coba perangkat pembelajaran matematika berbasis model TAI (Team Asissted Individualization) yang dihasilkan, RPP dan LKPD telah mencapai kategori “praktis”. RPP dan LKPD dinyatakan “sangat praktis” berdasarkan hasil penilaian guru. RPP dan LKPD dinyatakan “praktis” berdasarkan hasil observasi aktivitas siswa dengan keterlaksanaan RPP mencapai 82,7%. RPP dan LKPD dinyatakan “efektif” berdasarkan ketercapaian ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa secara klasikal pada kompetensi inti pengetahuan dan keterampilan mencapai 93%. Berdasarkan hasil tes menunjukkan bahwa RPP dan LKPD yang dihasilkan dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif perangkat pembelajaran yang mendukung kegiatan pembelajaran SMP kelas VIII.Kata kunci:Perangkat Pembelajaran, Team Asissted Individualization, pemahaman konsep matematik

    AbstractThe purposeof this study was to determine the improvement of students numeracy literacy skills through a Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model based on the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) approach. This type of research is classroom action research which consists of 2 cycles, with 4 stages,namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The instrument used is an observation sheet on the implementation of learning and literacy test. The results of this study indicate that the numeracy literacy skills of students with high and moderate mathematical abilities in general can complete, where students can : (1) work effectively with models in concrete but complex situations, (2) represent different information and relate it to real situations.     Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat Pengaruh Model Project Based Learning Berbantuan Aplikasi GeoGebra Terhadap Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis Siswa Di SMP Negeri 5 Tanjung Balai TA 2022/2023. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasy experiment dengan desain penelitian posttest-Only Control Design. Populasi dajlajm penelitiajn ini ajdajlajh seluruh siswaj kelajs VIII SMP Negeri 5 Tajnjung Bajlaji. Sajmpel yajng diajmbil sebajnyajk duaj kelajs, yajitu kelajs VIII-4 sebajgaji kelajs eksperimen yajng diajjajrkajn menggunajkajn model Project Bajsed Leajrning berbantuan aplikasi geogebra  dajn VIII-5 sebajgaji kelajs control dengajn menggunajkajn model pembelajjajrajn ekspositori. Setelah pembelajaran selesai diberikan, diperoleh nilai rata-rata post test dikelas eksperimen (90,83) sedangkan kelas kontrol (53,61). Hasil uji T diperoleh .     PENGEMBANGAN LEMBAR KERJA PESERTA DIDIK (LKPD) BERBASIS ETNOMATEMATIKA BERORIENTASI DARI KEMAMPUAN REPRESENTASI MATEMATIS SISWA

    The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of ethnomathematics-oriented student worksheets (LKPD) based on students' mathematical representation abilities produced in this study in terms of valid, practical, and effective criteria that have been set. This type of research is research and development (R&D), namely the development of student worksheets based on ethnomathematics orientated from students' mathematical representation abilities. R&D, namely the development of worksheets developed based on the Plomp model which consists of the initial investigation phase (prelimenary investigation), design (design), realization/construction (realization/construction), test, evaluation and revision (test, evaluation, and revision). The test subjects in this study were class VII-4 students of SMP Negeri 1 Tanjungbalai Asahan. Based on the results of the trials carried out, data obtained from the validation results of experts with an average of 93% is in the very valid category, because 81% - 100% so that the LKPD is said to be very valid. Furthermore, student worksheets were assessed by students with an average response of 93% in the very practical category, and the teacher's response with an average response of 90% in the very practical category. So based on the results of the students' mathematical representation ability test they completed classically with an average of 94% in the very effective category

    PENGEMBANGAN LEMBAR KERJA PESERTA DIDIK (LKPD) BERBASIS CONTEXTUAL TEACHING LEARNING (CTL) BERBANTUAN GEOGEBRA TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS MATEMATIKA SISWA SMA

    Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan LKDP berbasis Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) berbantuan geogebra untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa SMA Negeri 1 Air Joman  dan untuk memperoleh kelayakan LKPD yang ditinjau dari valid, praktis, dan efektif serta untuk mendapatkan hasil peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis setelah menggunakan LKPD berbasis CTL  berbantuan geogebra, dan respon siswa terhadap LKPD berbasis CTL berbantuan geogebra. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian pengembangan dan model penelitian yang digunakan untuk mengembangkan LKPD berbasis CTL adalah model 4-D (define, design, develop, disseminate). Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah LKPD yang dikembangkan sangat valid dengan nilai rata – rata uji validasi oleh para ahli sebesar 97%. LKPD mendapatkan respon yang sangat baik dari peserta didik dengan skor analisis kepraktisan sebesar 87% dengan kriteria sangat praktis. LKPD berbasis CTL pada materi perbandingan Trigonometri pada segitiga siku – siku efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang dibuktikan dengan hasil hasil tes kemampuan berpikir kritis yang memperoleh rata rata nilai 85,71 yang dikategorikan sangat efektif. Dengan demikian, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa hasil pengembangan LKPD berbasis CTL terhadap kemampuan berpikir matematis pada materi perbandingan trigonometri pada segitiga siku siku layak digunakan dilihat dari aspek valid, praktis, dan efektif

    INCREASING OF MATHEMATICHAL PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITIES HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS THROUGH GUIDED DISCOVERY LEARNING AT SMA NEGERI 1 AIR JOMAN

    This type of quasi-experimental research aims to determine the increase in mathematical problem solving that occurs in students who are given guided discovery learning and conventional learning. The population in this study were all students of SMA 1 Air Joman Asahan District with students from two classes X X-2 and X-3 respectively. Students' initial mathematical abilities are classified according to the value of report cards. The instrument used consisted of mathematical problem solving tests. The results showed that increasing of problem solving abilities of students taught with guided discovery learning was higher than the mathematical problem solving abilities of students taught with conventional learning. This is seen from the N-gain experimental class (using guided discovery learning) of 0.14 and the N-Gain control class (using conventional learning) of 0.13. The interaction between learning and initial abilities is known that these factors do not contribute simultaneously to increasing of mathematical problem solving abilities.Keywords: Guided discovery learning, mathematical problem solving abilities
