    WORD FORMATION ANALYSIS OF ENGLISH SLANG LANGUAGE ON DEADPOOL MOVIE

    This research provides an analysis on English slang words in conversations of a movie. The data in this thesis are taken from the Deadpool movie script. This thesis is using word formation process theory by George Yule to find how the slang words that found in the Deadpool movie script are formed. This thesis methodology is qualitative method which is relying on verbal data and the data will be explained descriptively. The writer finds 32 slang words used by the characters in the movie. This research has analyzed all the data. The analysis in this research has four steps based on the structural morphology process. They are, Morpheme, Word Formation, Morphophonological Processes and Dictionary. The study reveals that processes of word formation of English slang words in Deadpool movie are divided into five processes. They are Blending, Compounding, Clipping, Initialism and Multiple Processesvii, 22 hlm.: ilus.; 25 c

    This research aims to find out about sexuality and resistancethrough the main character as a sex slave in The Handmaid's Talenovel. The writer uses qualitative descriptive analysis of the study andthe concepts of second sex and sexual politics by Simone de Beauvoirand Kate Millet as basic theories. The writer uses the data throughsymbols, values, and narration through the main character. The resultsare according to the concept of the second sex, where Offred'ssexuality is the other in the Handmaid's Tale novel. Offred had notowned her sexuality because of her husband's oppression and wasdisgusted to see her body through the symbolism of her head coverand red robe as slave. Offred use head covered and a red robe for herduties. Based on the concept of sexual politics, Offred resists theoppression of her sexuality. First, an arbitrary character appears toavoid punishment by lie and trick her husband into believe in her.Second, she represented sexual androgyny by hide smoke, alcohol,and having sex with her boyfriend.
