    Moderating effect of organizational culture on the relationship between organizational justice, job autonomy and organizational cynicism

    Organizational cynicism is viewed as a general or specific attitude that is characterized by frustration, anger and also a tendency to distrust individuals, groups and organizations. It is not only detrimental to employees but also to organizations. Hence, this study emphasized on the factors that influence organizational cynicism. Specifically, the objectives of the study were to investigate the level of organizational cynicism among the respondents, to examine the relationship between organizational justice, job autonomy and organizational cynicism, and to analyse the moderating effect of organizational culture on the relationship between organizational justice, job autonomy and organizational cynicism. This study utilized the survey method, through the distribution of questionnaires to a sample of 504 Immigration Officers from the Security and Defence Unit of the Immigration Department of Malaysia (IDM). Statistical techniques such as factor analysis, reliability test, correlation test, multiple regression and hierarchical regression analyses were employed in analysing the data. The multiple regression analysis indicated that organizational justice and job autonomy were significantly and negatively related to organizational cynicism. As for the moderating test of organizational culture, the study revealed that bureaucratic culture has a significant moderating effect on job autonomy and organizational cynicism. Meanwhile, innovative culture significantly moderated the relationship between interactional justice, job autonomy and organizational cynicism. This finding depicted that the interaction effects of bureaucratic culture and innovative culture are partially supported. On the other hand, the result showed no interaction effect on supportive culture. The implications, limitations and direction for the future study are also discussed

    This research examined the role of job autonomy in influencing the level of organizational cynicism.By using a survey method through the questionnaires distribution, 504 dataset was utilised for the analysis.Several statistical techniques such as factor analysis, reliability test, correlation analysis, and regression analysis were conducted in this research.Through the data analysis, this research indicates a negative relationship between and organizational cynicism.With based on the analysis result, this research suggests that job autonomy could be favourable towards decreasing the level of organizational cynicism

Based on the data analysis result, this research indicates a negative relationship between organizational justice and organizational cynicism.Additionally, procedural justice was found to be the strongest organizational justice dimension that significantly influencing organizational cynicism level. Moreover, the limitations and directions for the future research are also discussed

    The Relationship Between the Change Management and the Operational Excellence in Electrical and Electronics Manufacturing Companies

    Purpose The purpose this paper is to examine the relationship between the change management and the operational excellence in the manufacturing companies (i.e. electrical and electronics). Design/ methodology/ approach This study utilizes causal study using survey methods to ascertain the relationship between the management of change and operational excellence. The samples of the population were selected for the Electrical and Electronics sectors using the systematic random sampling method. Findings The analysis found significant positive relationships between organic structure, operations strategy, transformational leadership style and human resource practices on operational excellence. The operations strategy influenced the most on the operational excellence. Research implications The results of this study could promote a better understanding of the operational excellence in the electrical and electronics industry and its implications for activities concerning operation management and change management. Therefore, the recommendation to management is to establish policy, systems, and processes by integrating both hard elements (structure and strategy) and soft elements (leadership and human resource) in a strategic planning of the companies. This study is hoped to contribute to a body of knowledge, in termsof the insight into an achievement of the operational excellence. As it focuses on a proper integration of organic structure, operations strategy, transformational leadership style and human resource practices

    Industrial Revolution (IR) 4.0: Opportunities and Challenges in Online Business

    This article aims to foster an understanding of Industrial Revolution (IR) 4.0 and the opportunities and challenges it creates for online business. This study employed a qualitative approach using library research. Google Scholar and ResearchGate were used to collect and search past studies. The article selection process focused on relevant recent research and used keywords such as Online Business, Industrial Revolution (IR) 4.0, and Opportunities and Challenges in Online Business. Approximately 80 articles were found in the Emerald Insight database. The ProQuest database contained 20 articles, 100 articles were found in the Google Scholar database, and 10 articles were found in the ResearchGate database. Following the screening, 24 publications were chosen for further discussion. It was discovered that few studies had been conducted on this subject. The results revealed that internet-based companies will be assisted in developing their smartness and efficiency through IR 4.0, also known as the new industrial revolution. Organizations will be able to use data in real time within supply chains and economies that also operate in real time. They will become more sustainable and their operating conditions will improve, earning them the contemporary consumers’ trust and loyalty as they offer opportunities for personalization. Online companies were anticipated to grow tremendously because not only were easier and more convenient transactions permitted, but also significantly improved product offerings were made feasible by the IR 4.0 system. Online businesses should seize these opportunities and overcome the challenges to maximize their business performance. When examining the potential advancements, researchers have foreseen that IR 4.0 features both opportunities and challenges, although the opportunities to be gained far outweigh the challenges. Thus, further research should be conducted to gauge the impacts of the opportunities and challenges associated with IR 4.0, and a proper course of action should be suggested
