Lista actualizada de las algas marinas bentónicas de Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, Caribe Mexicano

An actualized (floristic and nomenclature)list of the benthic marine algae of PuertoMorelos, Quintana Roo, Mexican Caribbeanis presented. It is composed of 72 speciesof Chlorophyceae, 32 Phaeophyceae, and 109 Rhodophyceae (213 especies). Thelocal florula belongs to the generalphycoflora previously described for theMexican Caribbean. It is suggested thatthe source of the algal drifts, common inthe area, is autochtonous. Sargassumplatycarpum Montagne and Chondriacnicophylla (Melvill) De Toni are newrecords for Puerto Morelos. A mention ismade about the role of floristic checklist inalgal systematics and ecology.Se presenta una lista actualizada tantoflorística como nomenclaturalmente de lasalgas marinas bentónicas de Puerto Morelos,Quintana Roo, Caribe mexicano. Estacomprende 72 especies de Chlorophyceae,32 de Phaeophyceae y 109 de Rhodophyceae(213 especies). La flórula local pertenece a laficoflora previamente listada para el Caribemexicano. Se sugiere que la fuente de lasarribazones algales, muy comunes en el área,es autóctona. Sargassum platycarpumMontagne y Chondria cnicophylla (Melvill)De Toni son nuevos registros para PuertoMorelos.
