    Perceived needs for support among care home staff providing end of life care for people with dementia: a qualitative study.

    This study revealed rich and complex understandings of the practice dimensions of caring for people with dementia at the end of life and the impact these have on staff. There is a need to develop effective psychosocial interventions that focus on emotional support for care home staff. There will be challenges in providing this in employment settings that are generally low paid, low status, have high turnover and are reliant on temporary or migrant staff, where training is not rewarded, mandatory or culturally valued

    Monday, October 8 12:30 pm Eck Hall of Law Room 1130 Complimentary Lunch Free and Open to the Public Scott Gaylord, Professor of Law, Elon University School of Law Professor Scott Gaylord joined the Elon Law faculty in 2007. Prior to joining the legal academy, he practiced with the Charlotte, North Carolina firm of Robinson, Bradshaw & Hinson, working on complex civil and commercial litigation in both state and federal courts. Before that, Professor Gaylord served as a law clerk to Judge Edith Jones on the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He received his master\u27s and doctoral degrees in philosophy from the University of North Carolina at CHapel HIll and is a summa cum laude graduate of Notre Dame Law School, where he was the Book Review Editor for the law review and received the Dean Joseph O\u27Meara Award as salutatorian. His scholarship and teaching focus on constitutional law, with a particular emphasis on equal protection, due process, speech, and religion issues.
