A STRATEGY TO MANAGE THE NPAs OF PUBLIC SECTOR BANKS
ABSTRACT The global rating agency, MOODY's recently in its report of 2013 as rated that the Indian Public Sector Banks from 'Stable' to 'negative'. The RBI is also observed that in 2012-13 the NPAs of public Sector Banks were significantly increasing due to the poor asset quality and ineffective information systems. The study was taken with an objective of analyzing the impact and effect of NPAs of public sector banks and to suggest the suitable strategies to control and manage NPAs. The sample size taken for the study was 120 and the data was collected by way of questionnaire. The risk matrix for NPAs explains that the cause for NPAs are the internal and external factors among which the willful default by the borrower(external) and inefficient credit appraisal system(internal) are the key determinants. The findings of the study were to suggest the steps to minimize the credit risk and control the NPAs. The various factors determining the NPAs of Public Sector banks at higher degree are identified and various suggestions are given to minimize the NPAs
A study of the Awareness and Utilization of Digitized Resources in Selected University Libraries of Karnataka
Due to information explosion and overload of information, libraries are unable to procure or subscribe to the enormous published information. Libraries are finding it difficult to supply the most deemed reading materials such as reference, rare, career advancement, scholarly publications, government publications, and research related reading materials. Thus, to overcome this existing problem, now the libraries, especially university libraries are starting to digitize the value added reading materials and have made them available through a digital library, gateways, portals, archives, repositories, and consortium electronic platforms. In this context, the present study evaluates the awareness and utilization of digitized resources by users, i.e., postgraduate students, research scholars and faculty members of selected university libraries in Karnataka. A structured questionnaire was framed as a part of doctoral research and 346 questionnaires were distributed among users of selected university libraries that are providing digitized resources through various digital platforms. Further, the study examines the issues of frequent use of digitized resources, preferred document formats to view digital contents, preferred search terms to search and retrieve information and also assesses problems faced by the respondents while accessing ‘Digitized Resources’

SEROPE KALPAKCIOGLU A Study of Shear-Spinnability of Metals
The deformation zone in shear-spinning is idealized for a two-dimensional process and maximum permissible thickness reduction without f racture is predicted in terms of the stress system in this zone. The effect of deviation from the sine law on the maximum reduction before fracture is shown analytically to be due to the influence of distortions of the unspun flange on the state of stress under the roller. The results of analytical work are compared with experimental data and good agreement has been obtained. The phenomenon of back extrusion in shear-spinning is shown to be the result of a compressive stress in the spun section parallel to the mandrel side and is greatly influenced by mandrel angle and deviation from the sine law
IMPACT OF CAREER ENABLERS AND FLEXIBLE WORKING METHODS ON WORKFORCE PARTICIPATION OF WOMEN: AN EMPIRICAL STUDY USING PATH MODEL INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF MANAGEMENT (IJM) IJM © I A E M E
ABSTRACT Globalization, changing demographics and metamorphosis in the roles of men and women has forced business to transform the way they operate. Strategies dealing with work-life integration are an important implement in this transformation. Women in the workforce pursuing a career and obtaining remuneration for the same are thus part of a modern phenomenon. It is a well-established fact that women have been challenged by inequality in the workforce. O'Reilly and O'Neill (2006) speak about the various factors which impact the career of a woman across different stages in her life. The primary focus on Gender identity propels the thinking that women can stay true to their engendered identity and still be successful in their careers rather than change their behavior to follow male models of workplace norms. Flexibility at the workplace is a universal need for all -men, women, old and young. It is a gender-neutral initiative, the rationale for which is driven powerfully by the changing roles of men and women, of caregivers and of nurturers. However, in the case of women, it is a sustaining force, a panacea which ensures that the pitfalls and speed-breakers in a woman's career journey do not result in permanent damage, i.e, her dropping off from the workforce, never to return. The present paper is focused on identifying the women career growth enablers and thereby improving the longevity and work place participation of women in the country. Both secondary and primary data sources are used for the purpose of research. 26000 women attended the Hindu Opportunity Job fair for Women, of which 8000 showed interest in flexible careers. From this, every 6th sample was selected systematically. The final sample size, after data cleaning, based on this sampling was 1064. The output of path analysis indicate that the path coefficient for EE against FWB is -0.264 with p-value of 0.033 and the path coefficient for WLB against FWA is 0.204 with significant at one per cent level and the path co-efficient for EE against HBNF is 0.445 with significant at one per cent level
