    Forests are an extremely important natural resource that contains infinite biodiversity. But Forest disturbances intensity increasing from time to time, whether caused by natural or human factors. In Riau, there are some forest and land which annually vulnerable against wildfire. Wildfires in Riau usually occurs during the dry season and caused by human activities who was doing some land clearing for plantation. An implementation of remote sensing in Forestry is using environmental satellites data National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (NOAA / AVHRR and Aqua\u27s Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometers (AQUA MODIS) data satellites on 27 and 28 February 2014. By detecting the existence of hotspots (Hotspot) on earth\u27s surface as an early indication of wildfires by using thermal band which is owned by both of satellites. The purpose of this research was to detect the distribution of hotspot\u27s location in Riau, mapping the potential areas which affected by fire, and estimated the economic losses caused by fires that will occur in the most vulnerable areas in Riau using a combination method of System Geographical Information (GIS) as an analysis of the economic losses. The results shows the distribution of hotspot\u27s location in Riau, which identified the most vulnerable areas to fire are Bukit Kapur and East Dumai, and shows the damage of land cover that are prone to fires. The temperature of the data processing satellite imagery NOAA-18 / AVHRR are 30° C - 35° C and the damage cost Rp 11.411 billion / hectare for land cover\u27s industrial forest, plantation cost to Rp 348.158 billion / hectare and farming cost to Rp 86.822 billion / ha, whereas the temperature in AQUA MODIS are 30° C - 34° C, industrial forrest cost to Rp 52.559 billion / hectare, plantation cost to Rp 396.974 billion / hectare and farming cost to Rp 158.019 billion / hectare
