The Readiness of English Communication Skills of Mataram Tourism Vocational College Students for ASEAN Economic Community

The purpose of this study was to find out the readiness of English communication skills of tourism students at Mataram Tourism Vocational College to enter the ASEAN Economic Community era. The scope of this study includes students from three tourism study programs, namely diploma 3 programs in hotel and hospitality, diploma 3 tours and travel and bachelor program in tourism. A total of 110 respondents were used in this study. Four English communication skills including listening, speaking, reading, and writing are measured using questionnaires as instruments for collecting data. Statistical analysis includes percentages, averages, and standard deviations. The research findings revealed that Tourism students at STP Mataram need to develop and improve their skills in English communication, especially listening and speaking which is a skill needed to communicate with foreigners, especially in NTB. From the four skills of language, STP Mataram student Language skills are not ready to communicate using English, 30% respondents answered that they have not been able or disagree from the questionnaire

Analysis Of Students' Ability In Using English For Taking Order Procedure In Restaurant

The aim of this study to analyze students' English speaking skills in conducting taking orders procedure in restaurants. This study is conducted in order to overcome the problems encountered by the students in speaking activities in taking orders. To measure the ability of students in speaking English in taking orders, the researchers observed the procedures that the students did not perform and measure the students' competence of English language. Samples of this study are the fourth semester students in Hospitality courses Diploma Degree of Mataram Tourism Institute in Academic Year 2018/2019. The results of this study indicated that the level of completeness of the procedure in taking student orders in STP Mataram is in average. More than 50% students have conducted the appropriate procedure when taking orders in using English. From the result of data analysis in measuring the students' competence in speaking English, the mean score is 78.90 with standard deviation is 12.14. From the result, it is converted and get score 3.1. The score showed that the ability of English students from 40 students in STP Mataram classified as Good Criteria

Complaint Speech Act of Hotel and Restaurant Guests

This paper is aimed at analyzing how complaint speech act of hotel and restaurant guests are performed and responded based on categories of speech acts and how they are performed considering the aspects of acts: locutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary. The method and technique of collecting data in this study is documentation method in which the data were collected using the technique of note taking and were qualitatively analyzed. The findings show that complaint of hotel and restaurant services stated by the guest was intended to have a good response of the server about the complaint conveyed. Based on the categories of speech, the guests used expressive and declarative speech acts to express complaints and the server used expressive and commissive speech acts to respond complaints. Complaints of hotel and restaurant guests involved three kinds of acts: locutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary. Locutionary act is the utterance conveyed by the guest to show sense that he or she was not happy with something. Illocutionary act shows that what the guest wanted the server to do concerning his complaints through speech. Perlocutionary act is a kind of action taken by the server to respond the complaint speech act stated by guest

Gending Sang Hyang Jaran merupakan lagu yang mengiringi Tari Sang Hyang Jaran. Pemujaan di dalam Gending Sang Hyang Jaran menarik untuk diteliti, karena berkaitan dengan ritual penolak bala yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat Banjar Bun. Good Corporate Governance sebagai Prediktor Kinerja Keuangan dan Implikasinya pada Kebijakan Dividen

Good corporate governance is a system that regulates and controls the company in order to enhance the image and value of the company. Implementation of good corporate governance that will consistently deliver improved financial performance of the company increased its implications on corporate profits. The higher level of profits from the company, then the decision of dividend distribution to shareholders will be higher. This study aims to determine the effect of the relationship empirically good corporate governance in financial performance and its implications on dividend policy. The study population is a company that makes Corporate Governance Perception Index (CGPI) conducted by the Indonesian Institute for Corporate Governance (IICG) in the year 2007-2011. Sampling technique using purposive sampling with a total sample of 48 companies. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression. The results showed that good corporate governance has a positive effect on financial performance. Financial performance has a positive effect on dividend policy while Good corporate governance has no effect on dividend policy. Pengaruh Corporate Social Responsibility Pada Price to Book Value Dengan Corporate Governance Sebagai Variabel Moderasi

Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji pengaruh CSR dan CG pada PBV Perusahaan dan menguji pengaruh CG pada hubungan CSR dengan PBV Perusahaan perbankan yang listing di BEI. Data diperoleh melalui website www.idx.co.id dan ICMD 2008-2011. Berdasarkan kriteria purposive sampling jumlah sampel 28 bank, dengan menggunakan tahun amatan 2008-2011, sehingga diperoleh jumlah sampel menjadi 112 bank. Pengujian dilakukan dengan analisis faktor dan regresi moderasi. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa pengungkapan CSR berpengaruh pada PBV, namun CG tidak berpengaruh pada PBV. Disisi lain CG ternyata berpengaruh pada hubungan CSR dengan PBV Perusahaan
