    A study to assess the level of knowledge regarding prevention and management of acute respiratory infection among mothers of children 0-5 years in selected hospital in Siliguri

    Background: In developing countries like India acute respiratory infection (ARI) contributes in child mortality upto 75% and out of 10, 7 deaths are due to ARI. The knowledge of the mothers towards the disease is a significant determinant of childā€™s health.Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study included 100 mothers of children 0-5 years admitted in pediatric ward and postnatal ward in selected hospital Siliguri during the year 2022 in the month of March. Data was collected using structured interview method.Results: 20% of mothers have good knowledge in prevention and 33% had good knowledge in management of ARI.Conclusions: As the leading cause of death among children, knowledge assessment about ARI among the mothers is very important, which helps for better understanding of the intensity of the problem

    Selective-TCP for wired/wireless networks

    One of the main reasons for TCP\u27s degraded performance in wireless networks is TCP\u27s interpretation that packet loss is caused by congestion. However, in wireless networks packet loss occurs mostly due to high bit error rate, packet corruption, or link failure. TCP performance in wired/wireless networks may be substantially improved if the cause of packet loss could be detected and appropriate rectifying measures taken dynamically. This report proposes a new end-to-end TCP protocol named Selective-TCP that distinguishes between congestion and wireless link errors (high bit error rate, packet corruption) and invokes appropriate correction mechanisms. This makes the proposed protocol better suited in a wide range of applications in mixed wired and wireless links. Selective-TCP gives up to 45% increase in goodput over NewReno in the simulation scenarios that we analyzed

    Multistatic Radar Imaging for Traffic Monitoring

    This work presents a novel radar system for vehicle imaging. The proposed system is based on estimation of target parameters like range and velocity and generation of the final radar image. For this purpose, a multistatic Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) system is implemented. Both the simulation and on site measurements show that such a radar system has the potential to replace the current very expensive sensors

    Uveitis incorporates innumerable conditions, all of which are characterized by inflammation of the uveal tract. Study of etiological factors in uveitis in the population often give important disease-specific indications and changing pattern in subsequent studies are important to know further newer occurrences of various disease prevalence. Awareness of regional variation in disease configuration is essential to develop a region specific list of differential diagnoses and also for comparison with different sub-population of the country and the world. We report the changing pattern of uveitis in a tertiary institute in the Northeast India and found that tubercular uveitis had increased in hospital-based study

    A Low SWaP-C Radar Altimeter Transceiver Design for Small Satellites

    This paper discusses the design details of a high resolution, low "Size, Weight, Power and Cost" (SWaP-C) radar altimeter (RA) system. Operating frequency of the radar is chosen within the Ka-band to achieve the desired size and weight requirements, that are highly demanded for the small satellite missions in a cost-efficient way. We propose a system design such that, an intended radar altimeter can be built by using the Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) components. The simulation results show that the proposed RA has high potentiality for realization
